Clean and comfortable rooms nicely decorated ideal for overnight stay when travelling as short distance from motorway but you would not realise as is tucked away. Food is excellent we stayed on a Friday night and sampled from the menu, the bar was busy and there was a good atmosphere it is obviously a popular local. The full English breakfast was fab a great start to the day and end to our stay.

You would struggle to find without Sat Nav but this should not put you off.

Have eaten here many times and food has always been excellent, always wondered what it would be like to stay here instead of being the designated driver. Was not disappointed. Staff very helpful, very relaxed atmosphere .

Close to the motorway for stop overs but still out of the way enough to be peaceful. The food choice looked excellent although we arrived too late to eat. We had a lovely breakfast and the hosts were kind enough to let our children have something to eat even though we were only paying for 2 adults. Our room was large enough for ourselves and 2 small children. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Greeted by a lovely receptionist, very helpful.. room was on the top floor - would be no good for elderly but fine for me... room was lovely - really clean, exposed beams, comfy bed - decent shower.. cant believe the rate I paid included a cooked breakfast which was nice... they even accommodated me a breakfast after breakfast had finished as I got the serving times wrong... Beautiful pub and location... Must recommend the Melbec red - beautiful.. my stay was on a Monday which was steak night.. starter of fresh crab and leek tart was a bit cold but full of flavour - deffo fresh crab as I found a tiny bit of shell in it - but not knocking them for that... steak was quite good.... think they are missing a trick on how much to charge a night... when I looked at travel lodges and premier inns in Bristol a few miles away they wanted double and that was just for a room.... will deffo be coming back here again

the wifi was a bit poor but it was explained they are having a new router fitted in the next few weeks... also the nearest shop is quite far away so ensure you have everything with you before you start having a drink ;o)

Closeness to the M5. Eccellent for an overnight stopover if heading for Cornwall. The food was good. Very good value for money if only it had felt clean.

All the public.areas are in need of redecorating and a DAM GOOD CLEAN. Did not see Food Hygiene score. From what we could see of the kitchens I would only give a 1. Sour smell as you approach dining area.

    Nothing although location good.

Shabby and dirty.Directed to room upstairs along what appeared to be service corridor.Bannisters and carpet up the stairs sticky and dirty.Room 2 dark and dingy.Dust everywhere, windows dirty , curtains stale and carpet felt unclean underfoot. Shower cubicle had mould around doors and base.Sink did not have plug to enable to get a bowl of water for washing or shaving.Rooftop patio outside bedroom window and bars attached to outside of window making it feel very cluastrophobic and unsafe should there have been a fire.Did not feel inclined to eat there so ate out.Wanted to leave early as did not want to eat breakfast there.(Did not start serving until 8.30 anyway).Tried to book out at 08,20 but despite ringing bells no sign of any activity or staff.Left key at reception and left. Directions to place need improving as tucked away behind church with no signs. Very dissapointed as did not live up to reviews.Heard another guest outside our room door say "I am not staying here a minute longer" as he was leaving. Would not visit again or reccomend.

The room was nice and clean.

Food was basic and over priced. There was no where else within walking distance to eat, so was stuck here. Breakfast was a joke, took 45 mins and even then the beans were cold.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable although the beds were rather soft. The area is lovely and peaceful even though it is so close to the town and motorway network.

The car park is open for public use and not just customers. We arrived late at night, midweek and there was only a small number of spaces free so i would immagine it would be difficult to park during busier periods. The beds had duvets but no top sheet so when we visited mid summer it was very warm to try and sleep.

Location, value for money, very friendly staff every question we asked was answered with a smile. Food in the restaurant was to die for and we would and have recommended the Bowl Inn to friends already. The perfect end to a honeymoon before travelling back home.

    Nothing to dislike.

The room, bathroom, comfortable bed, dinner and breakfast.

TV needed completely resetting. Waitress brought the wrong wine but immediately found the correct one. Wine was brought to the table already opened.

Lovely old inn, very comfortable room, very friendly and helpful staff. Food good.

Breakfast tables not always properly laid so had to pinch cutlery etc. from other tables. But a minor inconvenience.
