What a great place. The people are lovely, very caring and very happy to oblige. For a 280+ year old place it's comfortable, pleasant and clean, just watch out for those floorboards, their a little squeaky! A great place to stay and eat. We'll be back.
Splendid breakfast and nice sitting room, stylish environment.
Very steep stairs up to the top floor where we stayed.
The lounge The food
The owners interaction with all 4 of the party. The food was excellent with the portions being well sized.
Bed linen soft pillows and cosy room. Delicious breakfast all locally sourced. Hot shower internet and flat screen TV.
The proprietor and his staff were very welcoming and attentive. The freshly cooked breakfast was delicious - including home-made bread and marmalade. The location was convenient for the Bath and West Showground.
It is not possible to check in after 2300 hours.
Beautiful old building room very clean good bath room
Not enough staff to handle number of guests breakfast just ok
We liked the location for exploring; the condition of the house was what we expected for a house of that age; the staff where really nice and courteous: the food was good and the value for money.
Apart from a couple of creaking floor boards absolutely nothing.
Lovely Hosts Great room ,very comfortable bed Good quality complimentary drinks. Really fantastic Building, sleeping in History!
Very small breakfast,no cereal, fruit. Noisy road outside at times.
Atmosphere, accommodation, comfort
Friendly staff, delicious breakfast. Good location close to local attractions. Beautiful surroundings.
Not enough parking but it wasn't an issue as could park locally for free no problem.
Almost everything: beautiful old house with lovely furniture; packed with character. Comfortable, well appointed room and bathroom. Peaceful walled garden for sitting in. Excellent breakfasts. Above all very helpful and welcoming owners, who really went out of their way to advise and help. First-rate hosts.
There is a step on the landing, which is difficult to see and I fell over it. It needs to be marked somehow, so that others do not trip.
character of the building was fab
cant think of a thing we didnt like

Staff Clean Comfortable Food
Beautiful property. Very welcoming- proprietor made excellent recommendation of church to visit in Wells. Excellent breakfast in a beautiful dining room with background of a lovely garden
Charming owners who went out of their way to look after us and to make us feel at home. The restaurant took special diets in their stride and produced the most delicious breakfast-nothing was too much trouble. Am looking for a good excuse to go back again soon.
Friendly, warm hosts
staff helpful with a small child. food great.
maybe lighter bedding in the summer
The food was first class
The room was too hot
The evening meal was excellent. The lamb was cooked perfectly and full of flavour. My husband had the cod which was also perfectly cooked.
Lovely breakfast, nice atmosphere and drinks in the living room; dinner and Sunday lunch catering was also very good. Hosts were very nice and responsive to requests.
We liked everything. Both Martin & Leonard could not do enough to make us feel at home. The Hotel itself is a grade 2 Georgian listed building and as such this is what we liked. It was extremely comfortable and their Chef is very creative with his food. The meals were fabulous and everyone was so friendly and made us very welcome. It is centrally placed for visiting all of the local attractions. If you like your comfort and your food then we do not hesitate in recommending this Hotel. We will go again.
Hospitality was excellent and food in the restaurant was of a very good standard
Mineral water in the mini bar would have been welcome
