If I have to have a little moan then the driveway a little uneven.
Very friendly and welcoming, lovely tea and scones on arrival
The house, the decor, the ambiance, the quality
Lovely owners, lovely dog, beautiful views, comfy bed, wonderful shower. All very spoiling
The tranquility and the sheer quality of the rooms, fixtures and fittings. A beautiful house and the warmest of welcomes. Best breakfast too!
The local pub has now been sold off for development which is a real shame.
I booked on behalf of my parents, so I did not personally stay there, however my parents could not speak highly enough of the Hosts, quality of room, Breakfast and the peace and quiet!
Bracken House is in a glorious setting with outstanding views. The room was beautifully furnished and decorated and we were made to feel very welcome by our hosts. Breakfast was superb and our visit was made extra special by a one-off post-breakfast harp recital by the hostess. We shall return!
hospitable owners, careing and friendly. very nice breakfast. clean, and well maintained b+b
there was nothing we disliked about this b+b, infact, if you had a complaint, i think you would be very hard to please.
The character and ambience of the building. The friendliness of the hosts. A pleasant room in which to have breakfast. Excellent shower.
The road surface when approaching the house after leaving the main road needed to be improved with several nasty pot holes. The room only had one chair which meant one of us had to sit on the bed when watching TV. however, the bedroom was quite small and it would have been hard to find a place for another chair.
This BnB was a fantastic find for me. The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful and the room was so comfy I had such a good nights sleep. Home made bread for breakfast was delicious as well. I am sorry I only stayed 2 nights!
Guy the owner was extremely welcoming and friendly. The room was very pleasant and the bed extremely comfortable. The breakfast (I had poached eggs on toast) was 10/10. I will definitely be staying at Bracken House when I am next on business in the area.
Attentive hosts nothing too much trouble lovely room with rural views lovely home setting ,not too far from barnstable and other interesting places.
No local pub or restaurant shame Bracken House was not licensed
Lovely tranquil location with fabulous views. Friendly attentive host. Superb (very) full breakfast of local and home produce.
Not a thing.
A lovely warm welcome and most pleasant hosts.A great breakfast ! To explore Exmoor,no better location
A little attention to the driveway perhaps?
The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. The setting is stunning with amazing views and gardens that you can sit in and relax.
Quiet relaxing, superb scenery, centrally placed for access to surrounding areas
We were a group of three girls and were treated so well-it could not have been a more welcoming stay. We didn't have a car so Guy offered to give us a lift into Barnstaple-very grateful! There are beautiful walks/views around the house.
This B&B is a little gem, Guy and Sue are the best of hosts, they do their outmost to make your stay a very pleasant experience. The house and its surroundings are beautiful and tranquil. Breakfast is beautifully cooked and served in a pretty room. Our room had a stunning view, it was clean and had a new renovated bathroom. The beds were comfortable. The icing of the cake was the kindest dog, Lottie, which we would gladly adopt! A great place to stay!
Nothing to dislike!
what a superb place to stay, a very welcome pot of tea on the lawn, after a day of work, lovely people, they could not do enough for me, i even took the Dog for a walk. Sue even played her Harp for me, what a sound! room was perfect, clean tidy, great shower. breakfast was just right.
a little difficult to find, sat nav went a bit crazy.
Travelling to Devon for a funeral, could have been a very gloomy affair but staying in this lovely Vicarage with beautiful views and the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, made this trip, although sad, a most surprising pleasure.
Idyllic location, beautiful furniture, attention to detail, friendly hosts.
Great hosts Comfy bed Good breakfast Interesting company Found an excellent pub for dinner but entailed a 6 mile drive to it
A pity local pub was closed as it meant driving out to find an eating venue No available heating in bedroom on chilly days.
For us, bed too small. No doubt ok for others.
Homely and very welcoming
Breakfast was excellent with homemade bread. Genial host, clean rooms, very relaxing. Well placed to explore everything North Devon has to offer.
