we were treated very badly by this guesthouse, when we booked room it was book now pay later, got to guesthouse card had been charged in euros had sterling on us. No key for front door expected to stand in rain waiting and ringing door bell. We would go as far as to say it was discriminative. I would not recommend nor ever go back! I use booking.com a lot and this is the first place we have came across like this hopefully the rest of London is not the same!
The cheapest room in Reading, so not the Ritz, but you do get what you pay for -- bed for the night and a bite to eat in the morning.
Everything was fine.
Rooms needs refurbishing which makes it look un-kept, bin lining not changed
Location was great for me as I had a meeting at the university. Just about walking distance to the city centre. Very courteous and friendly owner. Breakfast was fine.
Aside from the dated decor, this hotel does have a few issues. The lack of a toilet in the room is inconvenient but this was made clear at the time of booking. Unfortunately, the in-room shower wasn't much more than a dribble. Some fruit at breakfast would have been welcome.
I liked everything
Pleasant owner. Decent sized room. Good location for uni, but a fair way to the centre (it is on a frequent bus route though).
Bathroom downstairs from room. Greasy breakfast, cereal containers empty or near empty when we were there (not refilled next day).
Great parking and generally a pleasant stay.
Friendly staff ,
no front door key provided. told only aloud out untill12.30am over watched by the staff, felt I spied on during my stay.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL
EVERYTHING. BREAKFAST OK
the shower in the bedroom looked hideous..the room was very small..we couldnt have breakfast as we had to leave before the 08.30 breakfast time
No ensuite toilet. Breakfast was very basic and mainly baked beans. Checking in was not straight forward.
Staff very efficient and polite. Beautifully cooked breakfast.
Good value for money and breakfast was ok. WIFI and close to some shops and pubs. Breakfast was ok.
Dated rooms but you pay for what you get
nice clean room with clean sheets and towel, breakfast nice
It didnt make it clear on the web site that the shower and toilet facilities were shared. Took a little while to work out how the remotes worked for the tv
Liked the location and breakfast was nice.
No ensuite toilet and the whole place was looking a bit tired, could do with a lick of paint.
The Beds Were Comfortable. We Slept Well.
The Shower Had Black Grime,And The Room Felt Damp After A Shower,Because It Was In The Actual Bedroom,Not Seperated By A Door,To Shut Off The Steam. Also The Toilet Was on The Landing,So A Bit Of A Walk In The Night. The Sink Tap Discs Red And Blue Were On The Wrong Tap,s So Cold Water Tap Had Red Disc On Top,And Vice Versa,So The First Time We Used The Kettle For A Cuppa,We UnBe Knowingly Filled The Kettle Up From The Warm Tap,(Not Good)The Breakfast Was,nt To Bad,But The Bacon Was Well Over Cooked,Very Dry,
Good location for work and trips into Reading. Owner assisted with requests.
There was nothing to dislike.
