We fell in love with this beautifully run hotel. We were made to feel very comfortable and loved how homely it felt. We have already planned our return:)
The Decor was tasteful and of a good quality making the ambiance of the room relaxing. Little touches like providing a pair of binoculars in order to enjoy the view and a torch for returning in the dark showed thoughtfulness to the visitors.
We loved everything !
Really lovely couple we were treated as friends from driving into the drive to leaving really genuine people will definitely be returning the first chance we get
There is absolutely nothing not to like
Every aspect of the one bedroomed apartment was luxurious. We spent a very happy and peaceful weekend at Brackenhurst House, enjoying the views, watching films on the giant screen tv with Bose quality surround sound and relaxing (this reviewer had a 3 hour sleep on the Saturday afternoon, something that never would happen at home where there are always chores to do, (beloved) pets to walk and (beloved) children requiring attention!). We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend and would recommend Brackenhurst House without hesitation. Geoff and Sue are friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts and were always ready to supply another bucket of cold ice when we were ready to open a bottle of bubbly!!
Nothing to not like, but it was a little disappointing that the jacuzzi aspect of the World of Water spa bath/shower/sauna was not working at the time of our visit.
The panoramic view from the breakfast room (crows nest) Lovely breakfast Friendly host Comfortable room with great view Sunset over the sea
We are not over keen on two single beds put together to create a super-king size as there always seems to be a ridge between. - That said - we slept well.
Views from balcony were fantastic
Isolated, no choice nearby for eating out. No proper shower. Too much clutter throughout hotel. £15 charge for use of hot tub. Not value for money.
Warm welcome Comfortable, well decorated rooms Excellent breakfast
The location was beautiful. The rooms were large and well decorated. I loved the bed. Sue was wonderful as well.
What a fantastic place, great sea views, peace and quiet nestled in against the mountains. The train service from Fairbourne makes it easy to have an evening out with many restaurants across the bay. Good Indian restaurant in Fairbourne itself.
The hotel looks over the sea, also land with horses, cows and sheep on it. The room is very nice. We would go back again, but this time, we would go for the best room. We viewed this, the bathroom is to kill for. The breakfast was made to order. The people are great
Views! Having breakfast on top floor, and from bedroom, even binoculars provided
It is a matter of preference, but we would like a shower
Everything about the house and its facilities was superb.
Sadly the location is poor. Nice views of the sea and of Barmouth across the estuary but nowhere to eat nearby except one Indian restaurant.
From the moment we entered we were in for a treat. The room on the ground floor was beautiful with stunning views through French doors onto a private balcony, a pair of binoculars are provided which was a plus. We were so relaxed we didn't bother going into the village for a meal, you don't get a view like this every day. After a comfortable nights sleep, breakfast awaited us in a room at the top, again with the most stunning views. Breakfast was first class, with plenty of choice. As this is a small establishment it was lovely and quiet and we ate our breakfast in peace. If we could we would have stayed another night. Will definitely recommend this place and hope to visit again.
This is not a negative comment, but the drive up to the house is quite steep and narrow. Once you are there though, it is excellent.
Private terrace off room, breakfast, views, facilities in room and overall, quality of whole premises.
No proper shower, only a bath with a hand-held.
Lovely Welcome - Was in a super location - with a beautiful room with a stunning view of the sea, Fairbourne & Barmouth - Lovely Breakfast - Guesthouse and all of its staff/owners very pleasant - 10 out of 10 - will be returning soon and would recommend without any doubt
Could not find any faults or bad points with this guesthouse
This hotel is of the Beaton track but what a view to be enjoyed when you arrive The house is of a very high standard and the owners very hospitable A quote saying " arrive as guests leave as friends" is true High recommended
Having to find evening meals off site
Everything, you would have to go a long way to find fault with the hosts, service, cleanliness, facilitates....o yes the views WOW !!! Recommend it....definitely. this is the first review I've completed, they deserve it....top job
Gate could be automatic.....car park could be re-engineered. that's it !!!
A welcoming place with a thoughtful attention to detail that made you feel really special. Amazing view and surroundings. Softest bed linen in an extremely comfy bed. Good hearty breakfast with great coffee. Stunning dining room . Friendly, informative host who put you at ease and whose love for the place shone through. Can't wait to return. Oh and fluffy toweling robes, Welsh cakes and a spare teddybear!
Found the lane leading up a little daunting but fine once driven up and down the first time.
Really nice place - my room was on the 2nd floor and had a great view of the sea/beach/estuary. Nice & peaceful, rooms were very neat, tidy & clean. Facillities were good and the owners were really freindly, giving advice as required on local restaurants, walks, things to do etc. etc.
No complaints at all
We liked the genuine welcome we received as we arrived. This is the second time we stayed there and nothing was too much trouble. They were warm and friendly hosts and the House was situated in a beautiful location.
Having to leave! but we will be back.!!!!!!!!
superb! very friendly staff, great location, felt like home
Excellent service from arriving to leaving
Stunningly beautiful hotel with a fantastic panoramic view from our balcony of Barmouth. The room with on suite more than met our requirements. The gym in the room next door was a very pleasant surprise and helped with the digestion of the sumptuous Indian meal at the near by restaurant. Our hosts simply could not do enough to make our too short a stay extremely welcome. They are a fantastic couple and we can not wait to return..
Having to leave at the end of our stay.
A high spec B+B with amazing views over the estuary towards Barmouth. Good facilities.Hosts very friendly and helpful.
Would have expected a king sized bed given the price and unfortunately the breakfast was disappointing some of it being overcooked and a bit tasteless.
Geoff and Sue excellent hosts. Genuine, warm welcome and attentive throughout our stay but not over fussy. Brilliant location. Panaromic views of Cardigan Bay? Stunning sunsets. Brilliant lounge on top floor with superb views across the bay including powerful telescope. Binoculars in bedroom set on table and two relaxing chairs in the bay window. Great breakfast. Immaculate grounds. Spotlessly clean. Best small hotel we have stayed in. Highly recommended. Spotlessly clean.
