Braeholm is a hidden gem. We really enjoyed the friendly service, chilled out atmosphere and encourage to learn it was also used as a retreat for those in the naval services and their families. I would highly recommend a stay at Braeholm.
Very quite place
Room was really cold toilet really small
Friendly and highly competent staff.
Because it's an old building, the hot water can take some time to get to the tap - like quite a few minutes. I suggested putting a note to that effect in the bedrooms, and my suggestion was accepted.
The location was perfect - handy access to our extended family in Helensburgh. The building is lovely and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially when checking in and at breakfast.
Nothing - we had a lovely stay!
Views from public rooms were beautiful. Breakfast was lovely. Helpful' staff.
A bit far away from town centre Really early check out at 10am No bar or restaurant
From the minute we walked through the door the service was 1st class.....very helpful . 20 minutes walk from the town .... good nights sleep followed by a good breakfast.
Self service cooked breakfast
Braeholm is is set in a very quiet area of Helensburgh, it was only a 400 metre walk to my relatives house which is why I booked it. The dining room is spacious and although I didn't take the cooked breakfast, it certainly looked good and the smell was lovely. :-)
Its a good walk from the town centre and a fairly steep hill, towards the end if you were walking back. Apart from that. :-)
The Braeholm has everything you want when you want a break from day to day life. The staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the place has a lovely atmosphere about it. Our first trip to Scotland was made even more brilliant, knowing we had a comfortable place to go back to at the end of each day. My husband even made time to go to the gym and use the sauna! We will definitely be returning.
Location was great, lovely old grand building. Great view and super full Breakfast. Staff were great.
Squeaky floorboards in the room.
On arrival the reception was warm and friendly. Arrangements for breakfast were clearly explained which is always helpful for a first visit. On entry to my room I was very impressed by the way the room was presented and found everything to be very comfortable and clean and there was an eye to detail in the style. The en suite facilities too were excellent, Breakfast was most agreeable with a very acceptable choice of cereals and cooked food. All in all a thoroughly pleasant stay.
Nothing really but I had to go for quite a walk to have an evening meal! But that has nothing to do with the pleasure I had staying at Braeholm
Facilities were as good as last year BUT.
Last year it was a waitress service breakfast of the highest quality. This year breakfast in iron pots too hot to touch that kept cooking the food. The amount of food in each pot was never enough. What was called a continental breakfast was a complete joke. PLEASE GO BACK TO OLD WAY WITH WAITRESS DEALING WITH GUESTS AND STOP THE PRESENT NONSENSE.
Friendly and helpful staff. Quality cooked breakfast.
Found location somewhat isolated but this improved with experienced.
Room Friendly staff Breakfast Parking
excellent breakfast. Spacious family room. Attentive and pleasnt staff
No alcohol policy as it is a naval charity - not a complaint, but potential visitors should be aware.
Very helpful staff, great breakfast.
The rain - not much Braeholm can do about that though :)
The staff were very friendly at Braeholm. Nothing was too much bother and the atmosphere is very relaxed. It's close to Loch Lomond and only a train ride away from Glasgow. We'd be happy to stay there again.
It's up quite a steep hill, we walked down into Helensburgh and taxi'd back (having said that the taxi was between £4 & £5 which we thought was reasonable.
Spotlessly clean, very good value for money and lovely staff.

We liked everything about this hotel. It was welcoming, extremely clean and in an ideal location. Walk to town or down to the sea shore. When we pulled up outside the hotel we thought we had the wrong address as we had been on the road for a number of weeks and had stayed at 12 different locations, this was certainly one of the best. There were 2 hotels that stood out and the other one only won on points as they served perfect poached eggs for breakfast, but don't let that stop you from booking at the Braeholm you will not be disappointed.
That we were unable to stay longer than our 2 nights.
Staff were nice and the breakfast was very good.
Rooms poorly ventilated and could have been, and smelt, cleaner. Musty smell in room on arrival. Always a 'turnoff'. Will pass by next time.
the rooms are fantastic, the staff very helpful and friendly, breakfast amazing!!
The staff and the location make it a top notch B&B. We enjoyed the breakfasts, the variety of people who frequent the facility, and the fact that everyone we spoke to in town had such a high opinion of Braeholm. Congratulations!
TV in the UK sucks! No music channels, etc. etc. etc.
Great room and wonderful breakfast!
All, and had an excellent visit.
Room 5 is over the tumble dryer room. So, it can be noisy.
