Close to Edinburgh bypass Just enough parking for everyone
Not having a lift to bedroom floors Bar area a bit like a pub
Good nights sleep, good atmosphere, friendly staff and a great location
Shower was a bit cramped
-The Room size. -The Staff -The relaxed atmosphere
-the pressure in the shower.
breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel. food/ juices constantly refreshed even when not all gone location excellent, right on bus route to city centre room very comfortable
room was only set up for one, had to request extra towels, tea/coffee shower very poor
Desk staff pleasant and helpful. Location OK but too far out of town. Has night desk. Really can't think of anything else positive.
Décor DIRTY 1970s. Place needs a total makeover. Door looked as if it had been jemmied! Very noisy till after 12.00 midnight. Very crowded - our bad luck, because of Ryder Cup. We expected that BW would have a good minimum standard but this seems not to be the case.
Good sized room, comfortable bed, nice building
Poor service (mostly the restaurant), dirty toilet, generally not so clean bathroom, worn down, breakfast was not memorable
Adequate parking. Convenient for buses into city every 10 mins. Excellent breakfast. Good TV. Pleasant and helpful staff.
Nothing stands out although not having a lift might be a consideration to 'mature' guests.
You got what you would expect for price
Bed wasn't very good
Suited us perfectly for our Edinburgh stay. Comfy room with lovely view to City. Really enjoyed the outdoor deck for afternoon tea in the sun! Staff were very helpful with printing of airline tickets for our departure.
Nothing we were unhappy with.
Was welcoming and comfortable and the building was unique.
There was no lift which was disappointing.
The warm, efficient welcome and room allocation. The bar food. The excellent breakfast.
The corridor from reception to the room was a bit soulless but not a major issue.
Second time we have stayed at this Hotel, yet again had a great stay!! great staff reception was brill thanks to Claire. We are booked in again for my Daughters Birthday in October. Fully recommend this Hotel! Great food.
Perfect STAY, nothing I didn't like
Sits high up on a hill with a lovely view. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff at the front desk was very helpful. Location was a little far from the Royal Mile, but there was easy access to bus lines into town. Busses were clean and comforable.
The landscape are beauty
The distance to the center of the city is so long, then I believe that is inconvenient for the people.
Close to the center, had good facilities, and it was extremely tidy. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the dinner was great. I would recommend.
The staff were friendly and happy to help. The public areas well well kept and comfortable. The breakfast was fine. It was easy to get into and out of the centre of Edinburgh as the bus stops are outside the hotel.
The room was disappointing and in need of updating. The bathroom was shabby with the wallpaper peeling and mould on the walls. The flooring looked dirty. There was a constant hum during the night from a generator(?) which meant a poor sleep.
Location - peaceful and quiet at night
Mattress and pillows were uncomfortable Evening service in the restaurant was slow
The hotel itself was beautiful.
The beds were very firm which my husband loved but i found too hard. Its a good bus journey from edinburgh centre but well worth staying a little bit further out for the views!
good size room
Very expensive Tiny double bed outdated decor grubby shower curtain terrible workmanship on the seal around the shower
everything done by staff to make our stay enjoyable
Everything except distance from city.
20 minutes drive to city center but bus access outside on main road.
No Lift Nice Balcony Love the bar/restaurant/lobby Lots of Character Great staff
Easy to find On a bus route to the centre Helpful staff
Decor was a bit old fashioned and the shower room was a bit tight with a noisy extractor fan.
From the moment we arrived the service was fantastic. All staff were extremely helpful. The hotel made us feel very welcomed and we would definately return.
