Water wasn't warm enough in the bath; no lift.
Location, quality and value for money
Hotel slightly 'tired' in places but they are working on it. Personally I didn't mind and felt it added to the good atmosphere.
Atmosphere, no corporate phraseology, just a warm welcome and a homely feel. Restaurant good and well priced, room fine, even the hotel dog had a smile! Would definitely stay again
The disco apparently went on till midnight so anyone in the single rooms above it would not have been able to sleep.Having said this the management were surprised I had been allocated that room and were apologetic and prepared to change it.
I loved the views from the hotel and when I complained about the noise from the disco below my room, I was moved without any fuss to a larger and quieter room 3 floors up.The staff in general were attentive and concerned to make me feel welcome.
Room 214. Dripping tap and taps to close to the back to operate easily. Room décor was a little tired.
Carrying suitcase up three flight of stairs
No left but you get hand to carry your bags
Location and breakfast
I tried to pull the curtains closed at night and they collapsed on my head! A bit ramshackle and not spotless but the bed was very comfortable.
the bed is hard which isn't to my liking but everyone is different? I prefer a soft spongy bed.
everything was great, food, staff, hotel, parking, room, had a great time :)
Friendly staff and clean rooms
The horrendous solid pillows and duvet!! They need to offer softer pillows and modern, light duvets especially as there's now a higher number of 'seniors' on short stay holiday trips.
The breakfast was lovely and the admin staff very cooperative
Hotel phoned private cars was over £4.00 pound more expensive than a hackney taxi off the street for same distance.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Location and friendly staff
Buffet breakfast on Saturday was not as hot & good as previous day when served at the table
Staff were great
The evening menu was less than inspiring so we ate out.
The hotel is ideally placed for buses into the city .They are frequent and reasonably priced.
The cheerful receptionists
Very noisy at night with guests banging doors and then woken by workmen drilling and sawing at 8am. Not good !!Disabled parking taken by wedding guests without disability. Our room was on the first floor which should have been ideal due to my husbands disability but to get to the room we had to go up 3 flights of stairs, across a long landing and then back down 2 flights of stairs !!!
Bed was lovely and comfortable and the location was fantastic. Good breakfast.
Breakfast always cold always waiting for service
Friendly, staff great,
At check in I was told bookings.com had cancelled my bookings, I had no such communication from bookings.com. After that they just booked me on their system.
Allocated room on 3rd floor which was already occupied but our card opened door.Reallocated to room on same floor 311 not refurbished as yet. Some were.No electricity but it was put back on quickly.Cups were chipped and one cracked. Were replaced on asking. On both mornings service at breakfast was very poor with one young man trying to cope on hid own for a full half hour.No glasses for juice first morning.Second morning glasses but no O.J.No eggs and had to wait ages for same(only fried). No large plates and when they came they were cold. Most of the electric containers for keeping food warm hadn't been switched on so food was cold. Duty Manager did come round the tables to ask us our concerns.Very apologetic and we were not charged for the breakfast for both mornings. They need more staff in the dining room in the morning and a supervisor making sure everything is run more efficiently.
Great Location.10 minutes on bus to Princes St.£1.50 single journey or £3.50 for 2 days travel on buses and trams.Bus stop accross from hotel.Evening meal was very good and catered well for my gluten free requirements.
Very comfortable room with great views. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food excellent, would stay again.
Pleasant staff, comfortable room, good food. Perfect overnight stop
great character building, excellent value
No Lift at all in hotel. We were on the Top Floor and the least one would have expected was someone available and no one was offered to carry ones bags up, particularly as I am partially disabled.
Most things In a Superior Double with room spacious lovely big Double Bed and great view from Bedroom
