Conveniently located The room was dirty to begin with and had coffee missing, opened sugar, etc.I arrived on Friday morning and they finally came to clean it on Sunday afternoon after I had complained. |

Forest Row is a fabulous location for the countryside. Ashdown forest is beautiful. The hotel was not very clean and the room was very dirty and so crusty in its style. Ther bathroom was old and fall apart. |

It was very convenient location for us and I liked the idea of using image of Sherlock Holmes. The hotel room requires some little repairments, specially in the bathroom. The quality of TV showing was terrible, no movies available. The staff had better to read the "Black Peter" story as Hotel was using it to attract customers. |

The location is convenient to Gatwick if you have a car - it is less than 20 minutes away and more pleasant and cheaper than many of the places close to Gatwick. The village is pleasant and the hotel has a good feel about it The staff did not have a clue about how to get to Gatwick so don't bother asking them for directions - they told me that it would take about an hour or more and gave wrong directions (that proably would have taken an hour). Our booking with Booking.com was not in their system but this didn't matter as they had a room and sorted things out quickly. |

The towels and linen were of good quality and the location was very tranquil. The room was not particularly clean with the carpet needing a good hoover. Choice at breakfast was slightly limited (my wife is a vegetarian). |

I liked that the staff were very helpful with regards my needs due to food allergies There was absolutely no hot water for either a shower or wash on the morning of 03.05.09. Reception staff said to wait 10-15 minutes for the boiler to heat up again. Even after 20 mins there was still no hot water, had to boil the kettle to have hot water to wash with - just not good enough, even if lots of guests use water at same time. |

The hotel was well situated. Although on the main street we were not bothered by noise, but it made it very accessible for everything we needed. There was ample parking space in the hotel car park, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast was good and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. |

As it was a Saturday, there was going to be live music, we asked for a quiet room which they allocated to us and we didn't hear any noise at all . Excellent. Our original booking had been lost which didn't matter as they were not full but we would have been very cross if that was not the case. The carpets up to the room need to be updated and our ensuite bathroom did not reflect the cleanliness of the rest of the room and the toilet was blocked. |

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The evening meal was very good with good waitress service. The bed was very comfortable. The rooms are in need of refurbishment our sink was cracked & the enamel on the bath was peeling. The breakfast sevice was a little disorganised & it would have been nice to get a pot of tea-it was (not very) hot water in a flask & tea bags. |

The receptionist was helpful and gave all the information we required. The staff were very attentive at breakfast and were quite willing to give any help as requested. We paid a lower rate for our room as a special offer through an internet agency and thought it was value for money. The real rates were nearly double this and we felt that would have been too much for the standard we received. |
