Nice place, good breakfast and excellent staff. Very friendly and welcoming, would recommend to all.
Nothing major but the apartment would benefit from having a small fridge.
Comfort Space Coffee and Patries 200m away Location in the high street.
A few mugs to replace the small cups would make it perfect. The key pickup was a bit like the apprentice. Perhaps a keylock at the location would be better?
Excellent location and the sitting room area in the studio apartment was a real bonus after long walks. Very clean with friendly staff.
I would have liked a few more drawers for storage.
Lovely friendly staff and great food
Great location near the famous Bay Hotel Quality cappuccino available at breakfast time Cooked breakfasts were good quality
breakfast not available until after 9am skimpy towels and cheap toiletries our room being cleaned whilst we were having breakfast on the last day of our stay! Breakfast choice limited - and you had to ask for stuff a lot of the time
Bramblewick is in a stunning location right next to the bay. The room was a decent size with a comfortable bed and a tasty breakfast was included in the price. Really good value for money.
The room we stayed in must have been directly above the retestaurant therefore at the end of the evening service and in the morning we could hear the kitchen appliances and staff.
The location was excellent and the room comfortable with good wi-fi.
The only teas available in room was normal tea-no green, peppermint etc. Breakfast was only available at 9.30 am - that suited the owner but not us! The restaurant was fine but we were terribly 'rushed' by the owner and felt we were on her time schedule rather than her on ours.
Musty smell in room Bed linen Room too stuffy with window open Extremely cramped
Hosts Food Quaint rooms Location
We had a fantastic stay in Robin Hood's Bay. Hayley and her team couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was excellent and the location perfect. They even organized a fantastic birthday meal for a large group of us with limit staff. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay.
A cosy little room close to the seashore. Compact, but what else do you expect in Bay Towm. Arrived on two bicycles which they easily managed to incorporate. Great breakfast!
The location is brilliant. Unique, quirky accommodation. Good home-cooked British breakfast. Friendly staff.
The "dumb waiter" seemed to be outside our room (lots of noise from this lift - crockery being loaded & unloaded, etc). Could hear all the sounds from the kitchen below. Bathroom very small.
location friendly staff
Nearness to ocean. WiFi. Friendly helpful staff. Great breakfast.
Breakfast too late - we were told 9.30 at first, but they did do it for 9. We were starting the Coast to Coast Walk that day and needed to be away earlier for our first 16 mile walk. Helpful staff though and great food for breakfast. Room bit on the small side, yet quaint.
Staff was so friendly and made it personal and felt very welcomed. Location excellent with restaurant on ground floor serves fab food as well as the one across the street. At low tide, you can pop in to the dried up beach in 10 sec. Quirky fab old bakery building.
Drainage in our shower was bad (goes eventually). Walls were thin so you can hear every little sound. Make sure to bring ear plugs! Car park (9am-6pm, hourly charge, max £5.50) is at the top of steep hill - it's a good exercise if you think like glass half full ;)
Great location, very clean and comfortable room, friendly staff, good breakfast and the evening menu looked very nice.
That the owners returned on Thursday after a couple of days off. Service was then as it should have been. If only they had been there all the time
An indifferent reception from the staff on Tuesday. Guests arriving late were greeted with a note pinned to the front door.At breakfast on Wednesday, most things had to be asked for. The staff were pre occupied with putting tables out on the pavement. I even had to search for a toilet roll for the room that day when we ran out. When the owners were not there the staff let them down.
The staff were very friendly, breakfast was made fresh so no congealed beans. Good choice of drinks at breakfast. coffee and tea including cafeteire in all rooms replenished daily. We had a teapot in our room always a bonus ( usually have to ask for one) like tea made in a cup.
The noisy seagulls! Lol That's the only bad thing I can say.
location right in the heart of the village, friendly staff,
very small room, not warned that no one was available in the afternoon and evening. the soap in our room had been removed and the shop was shut to buy a replacement. owner did not return our call to explain where we could find some. AND our room was mort locked after cleaning. Nowhere to sit.
The location is excellent. Straight out the door to the beach, shops and some lively pubs. The main courses served in the bistro were tasty, interesting and filling. Breakfast was also as you would wish it to be however my husband's teapot came without a teabag and my coffee 'refill' was less than half a cup! The building was interesting and quirky and made the most of it's position and character.
One of the cups in our room was dirty, not just stained but used and not replaced at the previous room change. Two items of our cutlery provided for our evening meal had dried on food. All the rest and the glasses looked like they had been washed in dirty water. The dishwasher was clearly not performing adequately. The starters and dessert in the bistro were overpriced and did not live up to expectations. The main sticking point with us though, and the reason why I'm even commenting, is the fact that they went into our locked room to strip the bed whilst we were having breakfast! We went back up to our room with plenty of time to spare before checkout and found the door unlocked, a spare key in the lock and our case on the floor with various toiletries and clothes, which had been left on the bed to be packed, dumped on top. I had left my purse and handbag in the room and whilst I am making absolutely no inference that anything was taken, the fact remains that a room that we had paid for until a certain time had been entered without our knowledge or permission and left unsecured. I made this point to the proprietor before we left and this was met with indifference. Very disappointing.
Character of property was fantastic Friendly staff Location right at the centre of village
Restaurant not open No point of contact when cafe shut no parking facility
The location right by the harbour entrance was very good. The food in the restaurant was also good. The staff on duty were attentive and polite
Difficult to know where to start. The carpets and walls in the corridors leading to the bedrooms were very dirty. The hand rail on the stairs leading to the bedrooms from the restaurant was sticky. The bedroom we had was tiny, so small that there was nowhere to put suitcases. I tried to put them under the bed only to find a folded extra bed under there, no sure why as there was insufficient space to put it up. Thankfully we are both quite small or else we wouldn't have fitted in the shower, there was nowhere in the bathroom to put a toiletry bag. The lift mechanism for transporting food etc between the restaurant and the kitchen terminated in our room and clanked away after we went to bed. I requested a receipt for our stay after we left and the management refused to give one, and refused to answer emails. Unless you like staying in over priced cramped rooms which are accessed along corridors with dirty carpets and walls then I suggest you avoid this property
Booked the small double but found it a little too small and very dark.
Loved the setting and the area. The walks and scenery is tranquill and a perfect spot to relax. The accomodation was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really good and gives you a good start to the day.
The walk with the bags down the hill from the car park is a little awkward, the walk back up with the bags is tantamount to torturous. It is very steep and my advice would be to take as little as possible. You could drive down, but turning round at the bottom is a little awkward to say the least especially if there are any other vehicles at the bottom.
