There are two very nice lounge areas to relax in and the breakfast rooms are beautiful with lots of light filtering in through the windows. The staff were very polite and helpful, the location is beautiful. An excellent evening meal and helpful restaurant manager who is happy to cater to your needs if you require something a little different. The room I booked was rather too small and too warm. We had a view to the fire escape, disappointing when there are such beautiful grounds to be looked at and the four poster pine bed looked tacky against the grandness and luxury of the rest of the hotel.

We liked the location and the setting. I can see why it is an ideal wedding venue. We have stayed in Branston Hall twice before over the last two years as it is an ideal location for visiting relatives in Lincoln and Branston and it is a good setting. . Although moderately furnished we found the room quite small. The next night we stayed in a Premier Inn in Chesterfield and the contrast in terms of space was quite obvious. The worst aspect, however, was the stifling heat from the radiator. We had thought we'd turned it down but it didn't seem to respond to the control and so we had to open the window. The shower head/nozzle was broken and the water was seeping out of the side of the nozzle and so it was an unsatisfactory shower experience. We did report this to the reception on departure. I think next time we are in the area we would stay at the Premier inn as it better value for money in terms of what we want from a hotel room when visiting family.

Everything you need for a relaxing break is here. The staff are friendly and helpful, the room was on the small side but comfortable with a good view of the lake. The food in the restaurant is superb. We had a lovely relaxing break.

The friendliness of all the staff and their conviction to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, even the guys who were obviously something to do with the grounds were willing to find someone for you if no-one was around. The room was a little tight and the bed was not quite as palacial as I had expected. But what we had was comfortable and adequate.

we liked everything about this hotel from the friendly welcome, the wonderful large comfortable room with a nice view as requested to the lovely gardens/grounds and beautiful food and service.we enjoyed a really good nights sleep in the most cosy bed and we were even helped on our way the next day as our car had become stuck in the snow and a member of staff very kindly offered to dig us out. a top quality hotel which we will definitely be staying at again hopefully soon. overall a fabulous night in a beautiful setting.

As my godaughter had got married at Branston several years ago I decided to treat my husband [for birthday] and our friends to a night at this luxury hotel. It brought back fond memories of the beautiful setting and surroundings. The food was outstanding and the staff were all very pleasant.

Wonderful and impressive building and grounds, helpful staff. Fitted out to a high standard. Good restaurant menu. Made most welcome on arrival. Hotel far too hot. Food not as good as the menu, ingredients not up to the ability of the chef but there had been an electrical power cut the day before we arrived and food had to be disposed of, so the ingredients that had been brought in quickly may not have been up to their usual standards. I would be very happy to try again to confirm, but in a cooler room.

Staying in a country house was very pleasant. The breakfast menu was very good. Bedroom could have been dusted and hovered more thoroughly. One receptionist was not very welcoming nor friendly.

We really enjoyed out stay at Branston Hall and would recommend this hotel to other travellers. We were able to fully relax, the service, staff and food were excellent. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and is ideally situated for travelling to nearby Lincoln.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, the swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi were really good. The breakfast was great - the waiters were very attentive. The rooms were a bit tired looking, we had a hole in our ceiling right above our bed which I wasn't very happy about - especially when reception said they didn't know anything about it and couldn't do anything about it until the next day when they spoke to the maintenance man. The receptionist offered us a move to another standard room but the view was horrible - the room we were in had a lovely view over the lake. So we opted to stay - the hole made me feel uncomfortable though. The shower wouldn't stay in its holder when switch on - the power of the water going through the flex made it shoot of the wall - not good when you have a head full of shampoo and you are hit with the shower head!! I think the location makes the place and they have become a little slack in keeping the insides as well maintained as the outside.

From first entering the grounds we were impressed. The building itself was very impressive and the entrance was dramatic. The grounds were stunning and well kept and the staff were most helpful and friendly. The spa/swimming facilities were clean and fresh and very private. The decoration was fitting to the appearance of the hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed a completely relaxing time - there was no sense of being rushed, nothing was too much trouble to the staff and they were very accommodating. We were looking for a romantic break and that is just what the ambience of the hotel offered and very private.

Good location nice reception Poor quality tired old room under the eves which meant it was too hot with paper thin walls which is ok but then dont charge a premium rate for it. Proper english Breakfasts dont reheat particularly eggs poor quality bacon too rather glaring oversight for this class of hotel

The food in the restaurant is first class for both evening meal and breakfast. This sets Branston Hall way above similar rated hotels in the Lincoln area The excellent food means a limited menue and this could be a problem for a longer stay. It would be good to cater for vegitarians - although I suspect the chef would obligue if asked

The meal was excellent and absolutely delicious. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the hot tub. The whole atmosphere was relaxing and just what we needed. Slight 'niggle' - room was quite small. Fine for one night but not for longer. Would have preferred more floor space but otherwise comfortable and clean.

Being able to totally relax, to enjoy a swim and jacuzzi, to look out of our bedroom windows on to the lakeside, to indulge in afternoon tea in the sunshine on the terrace (with every single item home-baked) and eat a superb dinner in the evening.

After Checking in I was told by the Receptionist that the Restaurant was full and that I could not eat in the Restaurant. I was also given a Guest Questionaire to Complete. After speaking with the Hotel Manager the issue was quickly resolved and he opened up another room as an extension to the Restaurant that quickly filled up. Following this initial shock and upset the Manager and the rest of the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. It really made me change my iniitial thoughts and as a result I would certainly be going back in the near future and would also recommend the hotel to other people. The Initial check at Reception when I was told that the Restaurant was full and I could not eat in the hotel but that there was a Pub in the Village that served good food. This was corrected later and we did eat in the Hotel Restaurant.
