Score from 178 reviews Good
The staff were friendly and approachable. The hotel was clean and brightly lit and in a good spot.
The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was reasonable and plenty of choice.
The room was very hot.
The staff were friendly and breakfast was fine.
The room was in bad condition and very dated.
Location, staff, comfort.
Coming back from wedding at a different hotel to find our room door open, the maid had not closed it after cleaning, luckily nothing was gone.
Ample free car parking. Free wi-Fi Friendly staff. Easy walk into Brecon Great breakfast Value for money
Good location, nice reception staff, excellent breakfast, and great place for pics of sunraise
Clean rooms, service at breakfast and food, location
Old LCD TV, Soft mattress
location, restaurant, river and mountain views
mattress and shower are unfortunately as olde worlde as the room
Very friendly, easy parking
Creaking floors, broken bathroom window glass, dead flies in light fitting, loose coat hook - signs of lack of attention to detail.
Excellent food - a really interesting menu; well worth booking for dinner
Castle hotel facilities lovely. Brecon is a delightful town with great points of interest especially Regimental Museum and a great base for seeing Sth Wales.
Perhaps a lift would be helpful.
We liked the warm welcome and friendly staff.Breakfast was very good and our room was well decorated, had tea/ coffee facilities, was very comfortable and clean. We recommend this hotel for visiting Brecon and surrounding countryside.
food very good friendly staff
Spent three nights at The Castle and can thoroughly recommend the same to those looking for somewhere in the Beacons. The menu and service in the Bistro restaurant was first rate with a choice of wines to match.
Having to book out , head back to reality
Food in the restaurant was outstanding. Very attractive & comfortable décor.
Noise from the ballroom, but we were fore-warned.
This was our second stay at this beautiful hotel. It's full of charm and character and it definitely has a relaxing atmosphere. Set in lovely surroundings with a view of the Beacons. The room was well furnished and clean and breakfast was first class. We'll definitely be returning for another visit.
The very friendly and helpful staff who made you feel welcomed, the food is excellent, the only thing to say is 10 out of 10.
Wet room brilliant Ready hot water
On arriving temperature around freezing. No heating whatsoever in room. I was able to turn dial on radiator but it was sometime before we felt the benefit of any heat. Secondly unable to get kettle under the tap. Thirdly although promised free wifi no signal available in our room. Fourthly bed too hard for my wife as she is disabled which we advised when booking.
Friendly welcome Stunning views Spacious rooms Great atmosphere
The room was OK but I would not like to stay in the room for more than one night.
We spent a night in one of the attached cottages. This was fairly spacious and was clean and warm. The breakfast was tasty and the staff quite friendly.
£150 per night felt a little steep... As a small holiday cottage this would be prohibitively expensive on a weekly basis given where it was. Also need a refurb; paint and plaster was missing from the ceiling in the bathroom and the iron that was requested did not function.
staff helpfull breakfast good.
Staff, food, all nice and clean, little extras in bathroom and easy to book.
Stairs with husband on sticks. Having to carry all the luggage myself.
The location was perfect. When we complained about all the other things, we did actually get a £15 discount.
Sponge type pillows and duvet. The curtains were so thin the light of the moon shone brightly in. Loo basin dirty. Room was generally dated and small. Very disappointed to have travelled 5 hours to be far from "superior room".
Very comfortable room, excellently appointed
