Close to places to eat and not far to travel to Windermere.

There was a lot of dust on skating boards and pots/utensils were not very clean.

David the owner could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, the full English set us up for a busy day. No pretensions here just a basic B+B with no fuss and rules posted up on all the walls.

Basic facilities that could do with updating but it all adds to the experience.

    Location Facilities

The staff is warmly, but not too friendly. When we came back from outside, my son uncarefully pressed the bell before I opened the door with the key. The staff is very angry. Moreover, there is no WiFi in room, only in sitting room. In addition, the cup is dirty.

Its my first visit to Lake District. David was very caring and guided us well. The Hotel was clean and the breakfast was good.

Nothing in particular. Good place for an overnight stay.

The manager of this B and B is not very friendly, and really rather rude to his customers. He found it 'disconcerting' that we requested Earl Grey tea, we are a british born asian family. The toilets are dirty. The beds are old and uncomfortable. I would not stay here again.

The manager was very helpful from our first phone call telling him our arrival time. He advised us to take the scenic route from Penrith, along Derwent Water. He also advised us about getting to Beatrix Potter's House and Wordsworth's cottage and the Blue Bird Cafe in Coniston. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the cooked breakfast was lovely. My Japanese friends enjoyed their stay at Brendan Chase.

Good breakfast very good local travel tips by the landlord who also provided a very friendly atmosphere and a rich sense of British humour. A pleasure.

    The room could be cleaner.

Location - it's really near the train station (about 3min walk away) The host was very friendly, providing great details on how to tour the Lake District, and giving excellent recommendations on where to dine. And I like the cozy decoration of the room :)

I had read previous reviews and tried to see what they were really saying. Yes Dave is a bit strict but when you consider that the BnB is his home as well there is nothing OTT about what he says. From what I saw he is very helpful with he knowledge of the area and willing to answer any questions. I would recommend Brendan Chase to my friends. An added bonus is that it is so easy to find.

The carpet, showers, linen were spotlessly clean. It is perfectly placed for a stay in the Lake District. Breakfast was really nice.

I didn't realise the room was not en suite but it didn't matter.

The welcome and information given by David - not only about the Lake District but where to see places of interest during our onward journey North.

A small quibble, but heavier curtains or blinds would have enabled us to sleep after 4.30 am!
