David was very helpful with suggestions for eateries in the area as well as excellent advice on things to see and do. Breakfast was delivered quickly and was of a high standard. Parking was a challenge but this was a small problem.

The room was extremely clean. Nice breakfast was provided. The owner was very rude. I stayed here with my friend and my parents, who came from a tropical countries and just went to visit the UK for the very first time. I know that it is summer right now, but my parents still feel a bit cold because they are not used to the weather. Then again, they just came here a couple of days before. When I asked for the heating in our room to be turned on, the owner first reaction is saying to me that there is NO WAY he could do this. He responded as if we are very weird. His reason is because since it is a central heating system that they use, turning on the heater will require him to go to each room and turned off every single heater. I understand his difficulty but I feel offended by the way he responded. I asked whether he have any portable heater that we can use and he said he does not seem to have one. I came back to my room very worried about whether or not my parents will be able to sleep well tonight. About 1/2 hour later, the owner did came with a small portable heater to our room. He gave it to us saying that we can use it, but just for a couple of hours as it may cause a risk of fire. Make sense. But this was the second warning he gave since only few hours Pf our stay here. The first one was for us not to ruin his £3,000 furnitures. I totally understand his concern. But I just feel like I stayed in a military house rather than a relaxed B&B for our holiday. The other thing I noted was when the next morning we came to have breakfast. My parents woke up first and I accompanied them to have breakfast downstairs. All went well. Then my friend woke up. I just wanted to accompany her without any intention to have breakfast twice or anything. But the first reaction of the owner was cynically saying that we should all have come together to sit at a 4 people table rather than 3 people first and then 2 people next. He let us sit in the end.

It was very convenient and central in Windermere. The landlord was very friendly and helpful. There could have been a toilet on the landing near to our bedroom rather than a shower. The breakfast could have been a bit hotter. I did not see any facilities for wet coats, boots etc.

Location, breakfast, friendly waitress serving breakfast. The rudeness of David, the miserable git running the place, who did nothing but moan. The showerhead in our room was pathetic. I've heard of water-saving showerheads, but these were are something else. The word "tight" comes to mind. No wi-fi in rooms.

I was the only english person with a group of italian guests. As I was parking the car they entered . when I arrived I was plunged into instructions by the proprietor where to go. I felt like I was being press ganged and on a mission. Rooms were cramped and no bathroom on suite which was not made clear on web. There were only three rooms with shared bathroom and he gave these to us italians and a japanese couple. I think we paid the same price for these rooms as the others. Hmmmmm. I found proprietor bossy and tense.on looking better at hotels on offer I think I could have found a better deal.
