The restaurant was excellent, delicious food and helpful staff. Good wine list with super local wine. When we arrived at 2pm we were unable to get a drink or anything to eat as they were too busy with a large party of people to help us. We were directed to the pub over the road!! There were stains on the headboard in the bedroom and the furniture in the bedroom needs updating.

Staff polite and helpful Room warm, clean, comfortable Nice user friendly outside space Adequate free parking We had a problem with the hot water/shower which the hotel couldn't fix as quickly as they would have liked.(bank holiday)They dealt with it by offering a change of room or use of two rooms, as we preferred which was very satisfactory. Thanks The village is lovely but a bit too quiet for us. Just a pub and post office. Very peaceful if that is what you are looking for. We should have done our research! Our own fault, not the hotels

Lovely location Our hotel room had paper-thin walls and you could hear people's conversations in the next room. Food in restaurant could have been better too.

The staff were very friendly, the room was a good size, the breakfast was as good as you would expect from a fry up, plus a good choice of cereals and juices. We had a very nice evening meal there as well. The village setting is pretty. The room decoration was a little tired, you couldn't stand up in the shower and the double bed was two singles bolted together that squeeked with the slightest movement. We felt that at over £100 per night, the above stated comments should not exist.

Excellent breakfast. Lovely location. Very pleasant waiters who are eager to please and give excellent service. The rooms need up dating. The bathroom was old fashioned; no shelf for toilettries. The lavatory flush was very poor. It was rather an overheated room. Beware of rampant geese outside the hotel!! Nothing to do with the Brickwall but they roam the green abutting the hotel.

Food. The restaurant kitchen is excellent and good value. Restaurant staff were friendly. The owner (manager?) saw us in the morning and remembered us from an earlier stay. Nice room and very comfortable bed. Free wifi. The receptionist upset me by telling me that I was paying less than other quests. This was because I asked for a shower with a shower curtain in my booking rather than a bathtub. At first she gave me a room without a proper shower. She gave me what I asked for eventually but reluctantly I felt. The bar wasn't open at the advertised time before dinner. The newspaper wasn't delivered to my room so I couldn't read it with my early morning tea. The receptionist had it at the desk. The layout of the bathroom needs a rethink. The towel rail is a long way from the bath/shower. Only one plug available in the room.
