kitchen fully equipped great showers, good TV/movie selection, very homely and comfortable, great views and location with good lawn space for kids to run around on, excellent pub down the road with good meals. We would stay here again for sure.
The nearby waterfall, great hiking opportunities, the central location for many sights of the Lake District. There was no cellular signal in the village but I treat that for good :-)
The bed!! - lumpy, every spring creaked and groaned when we moved slightly, dipped in the middle - didn't sleep well (BUT not enough to put us off booking another night at the end of our stay). The door to the bathroom (adjoining the bedroom) squeaked when opened and closed, though a little oil or WD40 would probably cure that.
"Dinky" (to quote my wife) but very well appointed - everything we needed and more. Attractive inside. Separated from the other (terraced) cottages. Walled lawned garden (although available to all cottages, was next to Stanley Ghyll and only used by us) Wonderful location - beautiful, great views, loads of walks from the door (challenging and easy), 10 minutes from Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway. Boot is a very pretty hamlet. In spite of relative isolation, next door to nice pub (with another within 5 minutes walk and yet another within 15 minutes walk). Bob the caretaker very pleasant and helpful. Easy, very convenient parking.
Natural beauty of buildings. Quietness of the area.
The cottage is in a row of 4 cottages and not seperate. There was a very large group in 2 houses and it was not nice and quiet. Parking was very difficult because there were so many cars. And although the location itself is nice it is not very easy and central to reach as every day starting point for day trips. But that ofcourse depends on your planning.
Nice cottage, well taken care off. Very pretty location. High up in the mountains. 2 restaurants/pubs close by (walking distance). Nice to stay "home" and simply do nothing but relax.
Nothing to dislike... only parking the car requires some skill :-)
Remote and stunning location! The cottages are very well equipped and authentic
Just a personal dislike, my husband hogged the settee, so I had no where to sit, a 3 seater would be good, or 2 large chairs.
Everything was perfect. Had everything we expected. Even the weather was kind to us.
