Score from 81 reviews Very good
Good breakfast and dinner Comfortable beds and spacious room
Location near to the Cairngorm mountains makes it ideal for motorbikes with some superb roads right on the doorstep. Good atmosphere in the bar on the evening and good food.
Some of the decor in the rooms looked a bit tired.
This was the first night' s stop of a 3 day motorcycle tour of The Cairngorms for wife and I. The welcome was superb by the owner, who resolved my concerns of parking a nearly new pride on joy on the hard gravel car park opposite. His pleasant smile and approach set the standard for the rest of the staff, who were very helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and service was good, along with the food -dinner and breakfast. The room was a twin as requested and very comfortable.
Nothing x 200
Comfortable, plentiful area to relax with the family, after a busy day. Lovely natural surroundings...good for hiking and out-of doors activities. Food and friendly service in the morning for breakfast.
Front desk reception was rather impersonal and ungracious..(Stayed in bed and breakfasts and guesthouses throughout Ireland, Scotland that were all amazing hospitality wise...)...Attitude summed up with her saying...(more or less) we work until all the locals go home...so unless you are going to purchase from the bar....
Very nice people, clean room, good bed, beautiful location.
Small room, no wifi in room, shower in bathtub, average restaurant, overpriced.
Good location for walking
Terrible smell of drains out in garden which was a pity as that was a nice place to sit with a beer
Exellent staff, friendly, polite and talkative. The restaurant was exellent and my stake done to a turn, which is very un usual as I like it v v v v well done!
We got the last room available and although very clean and tidy and well appointed it was above the kitchen and the extractor fan was very noisy with a vibration resonating through the floor, but as promised by the staff it was switched off at 10:00 oclock and did not come back on untill 08:00 in the morning.
warmth of welcome and excellent food both at dinner and breakfast
lack of biscuits on room tray
very dog friendly. staff lovely.
not so sure about dinner menu, my starter of garlic mushrooms, mushrooms out of a tin, cost 6.95. steak and ale pie was rubbish. and. very expensive. BUT breakfast was great, as was afternoon soup and sandwich
nothing to complain about liked it all just so friendly and homely
Could have done with a lift but i know if i had asked for help with my case it would have been done. my falt for not asking.
Super atmosphere in the bar and the best fillet steak I have had in years! A warm welcoming place to stay everything you need in the rooms and an excellent breakfast. Our fourth or fifth stay and it just gets better.
Quiet and friendly
Excellent Staff Comfortable |Room Great Food Good Value for Money
All good :)
Wi fi limited to main bar area
The atmosphere and attitude of the staff were first class
WiFi was only available in one corner of the building.
location - peaceful fishing pub
the food was OK but it could be better
The wonderful staff make this hotel very special.
Food was good,
The main road was too close and busy and the carpark was across the road, which is an issue with baggage and the dog we had with us.
Size of the room Location Scenery Dog friendly
Noise from traffic Evening meal
Great location for walking, cycling or touring. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.
Service in restaurant slow but worth the wait. If dining book a table and arrive on time to speed up service slightly
Lovely bar and snug - great staff, really friendly and made our night.
Mobile phone reception - non existent, not a lot the Hotel can do about that other than maybe get a repeater. Wifi was also very slow.
evening meal and breakfast - fantastic - very friendly staff
minor details in room - shower control difficult to manage - toilet flush not 100%
Friendly, comfortable and loads of hot water
Food quite expensive and staff were stretched at times
The bedroom was small but clean and the food was excellent
The hotel allows pets which is great if you take one with you, but there was a slight damp dog smell in the corridor, but I would stay there agin.
Friendly staff, good location for skiing, outstanding food
Restaurant can be a bit slow if busy (which they often are)
