The hotel is attractively designed and the reataurant is lovely. The staff, particularly bar staff, are friendly and reasonably helpful. The breakfasts are excellent. Our bedroom was not up to 4 star standard and rather 1980'S. Misled when upgraded to a suite which in fact was no more than a bedroom with a large bathroom in which there were several faults. Window would not shut, no shower, all rather tired in appearance. Very noisy! Woken up at 1:45am by singing, shouting and squealing by other guests who had been at a wedding reception. Breakfast good. Staff friendly on the whole. Dining room most attractive.

Layout and style were nice . Proximity to motorway ideal. The staff were not over friendly and helpful ! There was a nasty sewerage smell at one end of the hotel.

The location was near two popular city breaks, and the Spa aspect was tempting. The act that you needed to pay a daily surcharge to use the basic Spa facilities. I understand you pay extra for treatments but I felt paying to use a sauna/steam room etc was wrong.

The restaurant was very good - we enjoyed our dinner and breakfast, good service and lovely food at both meals. We stayed in a "club double" which although described as "larger" than standard was still pretty small, not double glazed, peeling wallpaper and not air conditioned. The radiator took a while to heat and the towel rail didn't work. The promised port was there, but we had to ask for the chocolates. The "luxury toiletries" consisted of one shampoo, one body wash, sewing kit, shoe shine and shower cap and when I queried this was told "I could try to find you something..." I said not to bother! Conclusion - did not match up to the description on booking.com site.

The Hotel was in a quiet location. The restaurant was in the process of being refurbished which I did not know until I arrived. The bar menu had no chicken option at all. It mainily had meat and 1 fish option which was fish and chips not very healthy.

Good breakfast. We were only staying one night otherwise we would have changed rooms. There was a great patch of mould growing on the outside wall behind the tv. The hotel did not seem to be aware of this which is amazing.Who cleans the rooms ?Are they never inspected ?We could not recommend it after this experience, although I have stayed ther before.

Location and food quality. Damp on wall behind TV set; public areas cold; wifi signal poor; no light on desk unit in bedroom which hampered working (also identified during a previous visit).

Proximity to Wetherby Races and Motorway. Pleasant ambiance and bar/restaurant. Disappointed that the Spa had closed earlier than advertised as we had been looking forward to relaxing in steam room before dinner and maybe a new mattress would be good. Generally good value though.

Have stayed here before and, as before, enjoyed the restaurant. Our small group booked two rooms and for some reason, the hotel allocated these at opposite ends of the hotel - however this was resolved quickly at check in with both rooms re-allocated close on the same floor. Not that I had isssues for this weekday stay, but I still think no 07:00 breakfast (even basic oj and cornflakes) at weekends is an issue.

Thought the restaurant and bar staff very helpful 1) Check in was slow 2) At weekends breakfast is 08:00 - 10:00. We required to be on our way before 07:30. I would have thought some orange juice and a bowl of cornflakes from say 07:00 would not have been a major issue - even Travelodge provides a breakfast bag when you want. 3) On ths same theme checkout is 10:00. How does one get a last breakfast at 10:00 and check out at 10:00 to avoid an excess charge?
