Good buffet breakfast
Bar staff at function we attended were hopelessly slow and didn't seem to know how to serve drinks
Good service the staff are very friendly. The Spa was excellent!
The free WIFI was off more than it was on annoying!
Very convenient stopover for our journey from the South to the North. Room small but comfortable. Did not find the tea-making facilities though.
Evening meal in the restaurant was very disappointing indeed after a long journey. All of our food was overcooked and the steak was tough. Thought we would make a safe choice for dessert but even the ice-cream tasted very strange…oily, granular and tasteless. Not overly expensive but felt it was not worth what we paid. Wish we had gone into Wetherby for Fish n Chips!
Spa facilities and treatments on offer
Four staff members were excellent , and the hotel as a whole is nothing to write home about but is okay
The spa is a disaster . it is the worst spa experience I have ever had . The whirpool is freezing cold , its inaccesible , and cost 15pounds per person for a three hour slot ! Even if you are residenta t the hotel. Some of the staff are incredibly unfriendly and rude . The Spanish staff and one local lady, one scottish lady and an Irish man were excellent and they were so very accomodating , but the rest of the local staff were rude up to a point of being , that I thought I was imagining things . They need better staff training for the local staff as they are as rudea s can be and for noreason what -so - ever . I am appalled at their behaviour , and really want all my money back
Efficient and charming staff. Good evening meal, excellent breakfasts. Ground floor room, but no noise problem.
The spa and steam room were booked and so unavailable.
poor WiFi ,couldn't get connected .
On the main road, easy to find, well sign posted, spacious, brightly decorated, welcoming, clean, comfortable and friendly. Thankyou
Excellent beds, locality to Motorway, saying that you need a car to get into the neighbouring towns
Breakfast could be a lot better, broken toast machines, my first day no one to take an order for eggs. It did get better towards the end of my stay.... but first impressions count
Room directly above bar, very noisy until 12.15am. Bathroom very small. No luggage rack Wifi Very poor Staff not very engaged, no-one asked if I enjoyed my stay, if everything was ok. Had a meeting the next day in the bar area, service poor.
The Spa treatments
The food was awful & my meal in the restaurant had to be returned due to the appalling dried out food served. Breakfast was also very poor with congealed eggs, cold sausages and black pudding that could pass as a spare tyre.
Hotel staff were excellent. the function room staff were badly organised breakfast was delicious
The food was good but the service poor so the hot plates were cold before the main course came
Staff are mainly good and helpful.
Formal dinner food was very poor. Breakfast - poor ingredients. We have stayed many times before and food always variable though this was the worst.
Music in the restaurant was too loud.
Couldn't fault it from the minute we got there staff friendly room perfect so clean and the chocolates and port just finished it off perfectly.
Staff attitudes Room facilities poor for a 4 star Hotel processes and communication deficient Overall poor for four star hotel
Staff were so frienfly
Room was very cold. Heating switched off at night . Beds uncomfortable. Very dirty. Music from wedding blaring until 2a.m and wedding guests noisy into the early hours so not much sleep was had. Very disappointing.
Daytime staff were excellent Facilities were expensive but adequate Wedding went extremely well Function room was very well prepared
Beds are slightly un-comfy in standard rooms. Drinks are expensive
Friendlieness of Reception and some waiting staff. Quality of their evening Buffet.
Although it is a non smoking hotel our first room had a very strong smell of smoking, which the cleaning staff must have noticed ! The receptionist however changed us to the only other room which was available and this one was adequate. Although we have stayed at the hotel several times in the past we have never had towels which were very frayed at the edges. The breakfast was buffet style, and although we went in at 8.50 (breakfast finished at 10am) the fried eggs looked awfull, many of the items were lukewarm and the 2 poached eggs I asked for were a disgrace !
Restaurent and staff were very good. Location was excellent for my purposes. Dogs made to feel very welcome
The size of the double bed was more like a large single therefore rendering it almost impossible for two people to sleep.
Room very poor carpet dirty and loose by door so nearly tripped over
Quiet restful hotel
Our only gripe was door banging - but thats the fault of other guests.
Room was small, toilet was dirty. It was really noisy until 2am. Then banging of doors from 5am.
Me and my boyfriend went for the spa break and was unsure what to expect due to never being before. I cannot think of one thing I could criticise. Beautiful location beautiful hotel, spa and room. It was the best night sleep we had. We also decided to eat there which was a great decision because the food was amazing, we had steak and it was perfect. Spa was good but could do with just a couple more things but not complaining. We also saw a Man U footballer who stayed for drinks in the hotel which just topped it off. Didn't want to come home!
