Such a warm welcome, I was greeted at the door without even knocking. I was travelling alone and felt very safe, home from home. There were bowls of fruit everywhere and homemade organic cake which was as lovely as it sounds! Bed was good as well as facilities. Quiet location but right by the seafront. Didn't feel like I was staying in a hotel. Will be back, thank you!

Friendliness of staff. Really good breakfast buffet. Good selection of teas and coffee in the room. Nice touch fruit in room and home made cake available throughout the day. Good location and easy, reasonable parking nearby.

Friendly welcome. Good value in a great location. Excellent breakfast Room was a little on the small side, altho' their website did say the single rooms were small and on the upper floors, but I wasn't quite prepared for the 69 steps up to the top floor - good job I'm fairly fit !

The staff were friendly and remembered my email to them before hand. They had arranged a room at the front which had a sea view (if you turned your neck) in a very nice furnished room with fresh fruit and a good selection of herbal teas. Continental breakfast with perfect. Eggs were soft in the middle and warm - as stated by the sign next to them. The atmosphere was very relaxed. We made friends with Mr Watts the hotel cat - and will return to see him and the staff if we come back to Brighton in the future. I don;t normally write reviews but feel that I would because the stay was very enjoyable.

Cleanliness and the sea view. In a hotel like this a balcony is essential, I enjoyed it.

I was so impressed with the quality of the service and the attention to detail in every aspect of this first class guest house. The service was extremely good with all those working at Brighton House being very helpful, efficient and friendly. The cleanliness of the room was first rate. The location was perfect being really close to the seafront and a 2 minute walk to the main shopping area. The breakfast was superb with most of the foodstuffs being organic and sourced locally, wherever possible. The selection on offer was impressive. All in all, I had a very pleasant stay at Brighton House and will be recommending this hotel to all my friends. Thanks to all!

Great location, lovely old property, great welcome on arrival, fine organis spread at breakfast. Pity we couldn't gain access to breakfast before 8.30am on a Saturday. Door was locked and no-one around, we needed to get away for 8.45 so this was a real rush. Also lady serving breakfast was obviously having a bad start to her day, couldn't raise a smile and was very abrupt with a foreign guest. I wish I'd said something to her now, as it was embarassing to hear.

Our room was on the fourth floor, at the front of the building. It was comfortable but the noise from the square was intrusive and disturbed our sleep.

Brighton House is well-situated in a quiet location, just a short walk away from the seafront and shops. An ideal location for a short holiday/long weekend.

Staff were really helpful yet stayed in the background. Breakfast was great though we arrived around 10 on the weekend and the dishes were not re-filled - a small complaint. Room was spacious and clean with everything needed. Location is perfect - a short stroll to either the seafront or in the other direction, the shops and restaurants. Would stay again and highly recommend.

Owner very pleasant and helpful A family had a noisy and abusive row in the early hours of the morning. This was most unexpected in this very pleasant hotel. However, there was no one about to contain it.

Warm welcome from the owners. Rooms were clean, spacious and well appointed. The little touches such as the delicious home made cake, the coming and goings of Mr Watts the cat and the welcome pack, fruit and refreshments in the rooms were lovely. Breakfast was good especially if you are vegetarian but might not suit the traditional full English visitor. Lovely range of fresh fruits, yoghurts, cheeses etc. Would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future. Quite steep stairs.

Very clean and homely. We booked room 43 but was given room 47 which was on the top floor, in the eaves and 6 flights of stairs up. The last two flights of stairs are very narrow and winding so be warned! Breakfast was poor - we got to breakfast at 9am (served until 10am) to find a very poor selection and it had not been replenished. We did not realise that a full English breakfast was not offered at this hotel.

“A truly enjoyable stay, could not have asked for more. Clean comfortable room , polite staff, and a really great breakfast. Great value for money, with little extras such as wine cocolates and plenty of tea coffee etc, having a fridge in the room was a great bonus. Will definately stay again.” Janet, Hastings |
