Reception Area and Bar look nice though didn't use. Rooms were cleaned well.
Bathroom was extremely small. Toilet was actually on the wall so had to squeeze in small place to use. Carpets looked old. Windows were old and not sound proof. Had to got up and down a few flights of stairs to get to room. Walls were also very thin and you could hear occupants next door speaking.
No shower curtain in bathroom so had to use towels to soak up water off the floor.
helpfulness and friendliness of all the staff! Central location and availability of parking although it was expensive and difficult to manouver cars into parking bays
steps leading to main door difficult to manouver with luggage and no handrail! Very narrow entrance into hotel reception area. Shabby entrance doesn't give good impression upon arrival!
Breakfast not greasy
Bed uncomfortable (duvet too small) Toilet loo not enough space. Room a bit on the small side (but clean)
Shame the lift was out and we were on the 4th floor, hotel seemed quiet, would have been nice to be on a lower floor given the lift not working. Expensive for what it was, very small room, small bed
staff were nice.
no double glazing and on a busy traffic route hence quite noisy.
Slightly tatty but good value.
there is no parking
Location (especially as we were visiting both Hove and Brighton); Good Wifi reception; Helpful staff; Good price reduction.
The location is good, right on the beachfront.
The carpets were very old and mouldy !
Front of house staff were friendly
Room was tiny and cramped. Had to shuffle sideways past the end of the bed to get to the pretty dirty and tired bathroom. Silicone around the shower was black and had hairs in it.
Location perfect, staff - very pleasant and helpful.
Hotel decor very tired. Double glazed windows in bedroom would not close completely - poor install. Could do with an upgrade with bedroom decor.
This was our second stay at this hotel. We stayed for one night and enjoyed our stay enormously. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was quirky, clean and comfortable and had a sea view. The hotel is excellently positioned for the sea and the centre of town. The choice and standard of breakfast is very good too.
Very hot room, with no fan or air con available. Windows only opened a very small amount. Temperature led to a very poor night sleep for us both.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice but well portion controlled.
I originally booked a single room, but was "upgraded" to a double. The room was in the basement; not really a problem, but the room was cold and the heating, when on, was at best, Luke warm and had no impact on the room temperature. There was a gap of about 2cm under the door that let in light and the noise of the hotel corridor traffic. The shower, however was very good.
Proximity to coast Proximity to pubs eateries
Walls thin heard next room snoring Noisy guest coming in late at night
Location of the hotel was excellent and ideally situated for us, as we were attending the Brighton centre for a concert, staff very friendly and helpful.
Our neighbours returned to their room after middnight, and we're very noisy, there was a lot of banging, until they were spoken to by the hotel staff, who we had contacted to complain about the constant noise.
nearly every thing
paying for parking for disabled person
Room clean and tidy. Bed Comfy
Noise due to room being next to lift shaft. Room too hot. No Parking available despite hotel being advertised with parking
Service was excellent
Perhaps the place was a little 'tired'
Location is excellent (on seaside).
Too expensive for the quality of the room which had unclean carpet and was small.
Location and Price
Room (No. 423) rather cramped and bed although springy it didn't offer much support. As a double room there was only single towels
Receptionists very friendly and extremely helpful.
Fire alarms going off on two successive days before 9am. Also reception calling room at 11.05 on Friday to inform us that we had to check out at 11am even though we were not due to leave till 11am Saturday .
Room far too warm even with window open all day.
