Upon booking I requested a nice room as the purpose of my trip was a present for my boyfriend who turned 30....I was really impressed and happy that my request was fulfilled and we had a lovely river view room. Also on going to use the hairdryer it wasnt working however I rang reception and within a few minutes one of the male receptionists brought up a new hairdryer for me. Staff at the hotel were welcoming, friendly and efficient so overall myself and my boyfriend were very impressed with this hotel :)

Excellent room and facilities, very well maintained. Some really excellent and friendly staff, especially Betty on breakfast, Rosanna on the desk and the woman cleaning our room. Really appreciated their friendliness. Great stay, would definitely recommend hotel. Buffet breakfast - poor selection. Internet access should be free in every hotel now.

Hotel has modern feel with rooms that are nicely furnished. We found the location ideal with the city centre in one direction and the new shopping centre in the other and not too far from Temple Meads railway station. With the location being on a no through road next to the floating harbour it is (we imagine) quieter than most other hotels that we saw and we had a good nights sleep both days. The breakfasts are very wholesome and cooked to order and the set menu 3 course dinner for £18 was very good value for money. The only parking we found was in the ncp car park to the rear but that was very expensive at £19/day.............. I think if we were to go again we'd take the train and get a taxi.

A very convenient location and the room was very nice, we upgraded to the front of the hotel and the room was big and well decorated. There's no parking so you have to use the ncp around the corner. Fortunately they offer a discount to this staying at the hotel but you do feel the cost adding up. The breakfast was a little expensive so we didn't take it up.

Everything, had stayed previously some 4 years ago and standards havve not changed at all which was unexpected. No hotel parking only close ncp which isn't high enough to take our vehicle and until late Saturday we had to keep close by to 'feed the meter;'

Very nice sofa in the bar area. Generally very good, if you can get a good rate for the room - prices vary hugely. No real down sides at all. Rusty mirror in the bathroom, but a minor point.

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast, with ample choice. Couldn't fault our stay. Quiet location with excellent view of the floating harbour. Easy walking distance to all amenities and shopping areas. We would definitely return to the Mercure Brigstow Hotel. Thank you very much, really enjoyed our stay. Just one point I would like to make, would have liked a feather pillow. Not a complaint though.

The location is excellent. The staff are very friendly. The decor is beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable. I have stayed at this hotel last year which was booked through yourselves. We had a wonderful stay and couldn't fault anything, this is why we decided to return. However, upon our return it was like staying in a different hotel all together. I had a terrible sleep due to the aircon as I couldn't switch it off and it was making a really bad humming noise all night, no matter what I tried to do with it it wouldn't stop and kept me awake. I didn't ring down for help as my husband was asleep but he did inform me that it woke him up on several occasions throughout the night. The tv wasn't working properly as we couldn't change channels, we had the receptionist to give us a new channel changer twice and then discovered that it was the tv and not the hand set. The waitress in the restaurant was not the best as she kept forgetting things and not clearing the table properly which left not a lot of room to put plates and drinks. We were both terribly disappointed with our stay this time and would probably think twice about using this hotel again on our next visit to Bristol.

I liked the central location, - everything in walking distance. Further I thought that the staff were very friendly and helpful, whether with information or also to get a small problem solved whenthe heating in the room wasn't quite up to what it should have been in the weather conditions, it took only a few minutes before a convector heater was put in my room. Would recommend the hotel to anybody.

The staff were friendly and helpful in pointing us in the right direction for shopping/eating/going out. Room was fantastic, great view, nice bath robes, tv had mp3 facility, bathroom had tv!! Was close to Temple Meads and the old part of the city, and less than 10 minute walk from Calbot Circuis for excellent shopping. No complaints! Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that...! Breakfast finished at 0930, so we didn't go for that option as felt it was too early... Everything else perfect!

Very clean and tidy room, spacious and the bathroom was large and well fitted. The bed was comfortable and the room was well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our stay and would visit again. It has been a while since we stayed at such a nice hotel. The heating did not work too well and it's a shame there were not more free tv channels to chose from. The shower also did not drain well and the light fittings were wobbly in the wall, indicating that the maintenance of the hotel is becoming a little tired. Also the parking is quite expensive for a wknd break.
