We liked the decor from the marble floor to the paintings and chandeliers. Enjoyed our swims in the pool and using the sauna and steam room. Our room was very comfortable with all the essentials.
The breakfast area seemed cramped with queueing at busy times but the food was good.
Staff were very helpful and polite at check-in. The room service was extremely efficient and good value (ordered a pizza).
The shower was leaky and there were signs that the cleaners had not cleaned the bathroom thoroughly, cobwebs and some marks in the sink. Decor is dated in some respects.
All the employees are very helpful, thoughtful and friendly. The accommodation very clean and very well appointed pleasant with good photographs and art. The fabulously comfortable beds and well dressed windows with blackout curtains provided a blissful night of deep sleep.
The service and interiors are a bit commercial and impersonal - lacking a little in individualised style and atmosphere...
Relaxing two nights really enjoyed the leisure facilities, concierge man was lovely.
The Professional and Courteous Staff. The decor of the bedrooms and public area's.
Accommodating our Camper Van by parking it outside the loading bay. Very welcoming staff Nice breakfast outside Great location
the food , swimming pool, situation, staff very helpful.
room very comfortable, service excellent and breakfast brilliant, Great position for a family get together Swimming pool was really good fun and excellent for the family and friends to share some special time.
parking too expensive!!!!
The bed was excellent, great nights sleep. The breakfast selection was excellent and very well run. Great location with very friendly and helpfull staff.
Nothing to dislike
Great location, comfortable beds, good service at reception
Some slight noise from road outside our room on the lower floor but not critical for us.
Located in a good place
The smell in the rood and the noise from the bathroom of water coming up the pipes as if it was going to flood the room and we had a room change before we got to the room
Large spacious room. Old world elegance Good reception. Great location
Slow lifts Tight car park spaces, you have to pay for it but that is fair enough.
Nice big room. Great location.
Bit noisy as facing the road. The breakfast was a bit expensive and not that well cooked on the second morning.
I liked the elegance of the hotel...a bit 'faded glamour' perhaps but bags of character. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Local area nice...plenty of restaurants and nice shops. Quay area very nearby for market and bars/restaurants.
Looks a really plush hotel. Good position for town but hard to tell location of car park entrance. Parking fee waived when we complained about noise.
Bedroom at the back was noisy. Double-glazed window was poorly fitted and noise 'leaked' in from edges. Top of cistern not fitting properly. Lack of attention to detail with regard to decor.
Everything is as I would have expected from an hotel of this type and I would ordinarily have been quite happy (except, perhaps, breakfast, too much mass-catering, too little quality foods, such as decent bread etc). Biggest problem - kids everywhere....... see 'what I didn't like'.
Never have I stayed at an hotel of this type and found myself surrounded by kids. It felt surreal. The atmosphere, esp. at breakfast & in the lobby was that of a holiday hotel aimed at families. This was so unexpected. When did families start taking holiday at this type of holiday - in the city? The lift was filled with people carrying toys & swimwear as though heading for the beach - ordinarily pools in hotels are quiet, hardly used. If screaming kids at breakfast and pandemonium generally are not your cup of tea, check before you book. Pity, hotel would have been ideal otherwise.
Good central hotel. Nice leisure facilities.
Room was quite standard for a 4*. Staff on front desk on Sunday were rude.
Most of the staff were lovely. Breakfast was good and restaurant nice and clean.
The mattress on our bed had completely collapsed in the middle. The outside edge if the mattress was about eight inches deep the centre all if about four. Hence no sleep as you continually felt as if you were rolling down hill. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work and there was no toilet brush. Wi Fi was not free in fact very expensive. I complained to the duty manager about the mattress and he took the price of the paking off the bill. I found this insulting although I felt that the duty manager had done all he was authorised to do. I have asked for a written apology /explanation, but as yet I have received nothing. The hotel is expensive so I was expecting so much more.
Breakfast first class
Avoid city facing room on Saturday night, very noisy with pubs and clubs close by
-Decent location -Availability -On-site parking
-Pretty run-down -Awful, awful breakfast -...I mean, powdered eggs, really?! -Rubbish bar -Poor selection of "after hours" drinks -Questionable intelligence of night porters -Still pretty expensive given the above -Very little natural light in rooms -Shameless toplessness of the people in the buildings over the road (although I guess holding the hotel accountable for this is a bit harsh...)
situation on site parking
cracked basin in bathroom. breakfast room a little chaotic. I feel that the parking should be inclusive which would be an added incentive to stay.
Rooms were comfortable & spacious, staff very helpful, ideal location, good breakfast selection
The unorganised chaotic breakfast on Sunday morning.
spacious interconnecting rooms.Very comfortable beds.Lovely pool.
surprised it is in a busy nightlife area so you can faintly hear it all going on out there.Although we were there on a Saturday eve so should expect it.
best most comfy bed ive ever slept in and i loved everything about the hotel
there was,nt anything i disliked about the hotel
Staff friendly, swimming pool etc good, excellent location, good job the room had air-conditioning as the window was sealed.
very overrated and overpriced. Fancy food at fancy prices.
