tables in restuarant very close together
Parking too far and not complimentary for residents. Inadequate and scary lifts No bell service Rooms not furbished properly And plenty
Lovely helpful friendly staff. Big spacious room with very warm comfortable beds. Lots of hot water in bathroom.Towels changed everyday and room cleaned. Food lovely and a great variety. Wonderful location, would highly recommend and will definitely stay there again
The lifts were hit or miss sometimes the stairs a faster option. 2 werent working days while we were there
Beds were very small
location was find, ideal for everything all local attractions
room was run down, no heating, big draught coming through windows and carpets dirty. i was in room 511
The location was excellent. You are pretty much right in the centre of the city. The breakfast was very good.
The double room we had was cold and a bit dated. There were cigarette burns in the settee cover.
Lovely traditional hotel
Swimming pool and sauna closed
Nothing if it is supposed to be for a nights sleep while ur away the noise was terrible the drunks everywhere I went out for my taxi and two drunks were asking me for. Cigarettes and one fell down stairs also it's all the smoking outside hotel that looked awful if these drunks were not there maybe I would come back to stay
The bed. The location
The bathroom in our room (314) was dirty. The floor felt gritty underfoot and the soap dish over the bath had not been cleaned for ages. The finish around tiles and bath looked as if it had been done by an amateur. The corridor carpets were frayed and stained
I liked the location, the history of the hotel and the oldy worldy charm
I understand that there were many pensioners at the hotel, however I found the heat almost unbearable.
The hotel was like a hub for what was going on in Liverpool. It was hosting so many different events over the weekend, but I'm sure the people at each one felt they received the complete attention and service from the staff at the hotel.
Not enough seating in the residents bar!
Location, breakfast good but long queues.
Corridors noisy at night. Plumbing could do with refurbishment
Overall a lovely Hotel, quite grand. The food was very reasonably priced and of good quality. Standard double room was very pleasant and comfortable bed.
Lack of lighting in our room, unable to read. there was no central light, just a bedside lamp.
tv was small and at first did not work there were large groups constantly arriving and leaving because it is a big hotel with many guests service from staff was impersonal room a bit small
price situated in city centre
price for breakfast is extra, is not worth it though
Localization, comfort of tha bedroom.
The lift was out of orfer, there was only 2 persons to atend inthe reception, and we had to wait in the qeue to get inside the breakfast room.
Friendly helpful staff, nice Clean room, great location, easy parking, nice old grand hotel
Hotel facilities excellent
To many stairs, could do with more disabled lifts.
Fix the lift
The fact that the staff moved me from a noisy street side room to a quiet one at the back. The beautiful Edwardian architecture.
Not being able to find a way out - and believe me after 24 hours you are desperate to get out! Only 2 of the creaky old lifts were working and the stairway badly signed - hate to think what would happen if there was a fire. The dirty floored swimming pool and spa facilities seemed to be dominated by a group of young gentlemen of foreign extraction, a group of whom were discussing the respective merits of escorts over self relief in the sauna, one spat on the floor as he left. Don't think I'll be going back.
Liked the location because it was in the city centre, therefore everything was within walking distance.
Didn't like being charged a hefty rate when booked an extra night. The room was basic. Couldn't open windows for some fresh air as there were no handles on them and OMG the creaky floorboards drove me insane!! Breakfast wasn't very good either - I thought it wasn't good value for money. Would think twice about booking again.
The history and the elegance
Great old hotel fantastic location to stay in Liverpool must have been magnificent in it's day.
Hotel getting a bit tired now felt that the hotel was really busy need to put some of the profit back to restore this old gem, however for the price we paid a great stay
Old world charm throughout, yet perfect Wi Fi reception when needed
People moaning that its tired. No its just old & pleasantly surprising.
