Wallpaper peeling off the walls. Dated decor. Uncomfortable beds. Noise levels, even on the 6th floor.
The location was good
The reception service was bad. The room was very small compared to the pictures viewed on line. Bathroom had moldy tiles bathroom tiles had the remains of stickers on them.
Grandness staff/service spotless clean
Central location, huge rooms, plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. Separate bathroom, thick walls, lots of mirrors. Breakfast fine, lots of choices, friendly, helpful staff.
In need of refurbishment but otherwise excellent.
The rooms were clean.
Booking in procedure too slow
Was prime location everything you needed was in the hotel .. Room was a bit dated but in such a big hotel it's what we expected will definatly go back !
But dated but we expected it in such a big hotel
Size of rooms waiting to check in state of bathrooms noisey rooms
Ageing decor, overpriced
Not enough staff on reception, everything is 15 years out of date, there was a funny smell, the beds were terrible, parking expensive. Never stay again
Proximity to station and city centre
Room could have been cleaner and bar staff more friendly.
Nothing. Rooms were aged and shabby.
I rang the Adelphi customer services an hour before my girlfriend and asked that she could be checked into the room before my arrival even though the room was booked in my name. They said they would inform the Hotel reception. My girlfriend arrived and they promptly refused her entry as the room had not been paid for. I rang back and they refused payment over the phone, not hotel policy to take payment over the phone. She had to wait till I arrived in person to be checked in. A once proud establishment of Liverpool reduced to a shabby parody of itself. Absolute dump of a hotel and service to match!
location good, price reasonable, free wifi, tea/coffee making facilities
a/c controls were very ineffective so room was too warm. no natural light in room (window backed onto stairs)
Good locaion Smoking Allowed Room
Slow check in, bed And pillows need 2 be renewed, old and lumpi
Public areas very impressive and location is great with Lime Street Station a stones throw and easy access to hop on hop off buses
Did not sleep as the bed was very uncomfortable and the noise generated by students returning to nearby student accommodation. It was very warm and asked for a fan in the room to allow us to close the window to cut out the noise but were told the hotel did not provide fans. There were no teaspoons in room and in the breakfast room. We asked a waitress to provide one, this request was ignored and my husband scouted the restaurant and managed to find a clean one. All in all a very disappointing stay considering the reputation of this hotel, it is run down and in desperate need of some serious refurbishment as it cannot last on reputation alone if other guests have the same experience. We would stay there again
needs updating, beds not comfortable at all!
The location is great. One square from the train station, you are in centre of the city and well served of buses. The Uni of Liverpool is a walking distance. Wifi did not work on the room (at least in 6th) but the lobby is enormous and wifi is great there.
The breakfast is not delicious and sometimes very crowd.
the rooms were clean and tidy and very large which was surprising the breakfast was good and plenty of choice I would stay again
the paint work needs touching up and the windows were dirty a plug socket was not attached to the wall this socket was for the tv this could present a danger
Breakfast was pretty decent
Just too dated and old for my liking. Not what I call character, in need of a major freshen up and modernisation
my room was filfthy
Grandeur of the place
Everything's old, not fresh Not really clean No shower curtains
Enjoyed Liverpool it was great hotel was well situated for the tourists.
The noise at the hotel from the water guttering outside our room and couldn't close the windows so had broken sleep but it wouldn't put me off staying again.
The old world elegance... especially the wonderful lounge! The location is a stone's throw from Liverpool Central Station. Great value for your money.
The awful slooooowwwww lifts.
Just love the bedrooms, have stayed a couple of times in the last few months, and each time have had lovely rooms, only wish they were double glazed, but then that may ruin the character of the Adelphi as a child grew up wanting to one day stay in the Adelphi, now I will when ever I come, home to Liverpool.
The outside noise, but that is a small price to pay for such a fab place.
