rooms are very out dated .... decor needs updating?
Lack of casual dining facilities. Decor very dated. Paint chipped on doors . Room very all. Shower didn't work . Very noisy at night with disruptive guests . Staff did intervene without success . At checkout was not asked about stay
Good size bedroom and bathroom Attractive old hotel Centre of city
Rooms need modernisation Carpets need renewing
Size of the room was amazing,we upgraded to an executive suite.
We were placed in what felt like the basement and there was loud music playing from the function room.
the price was very good and the location and helpfulness of the staff in reception was excellent.
The lift broke down and the shower was rather low and tricky to regulate the temperature. At breakfast nobody came to offer us tea and when we did ask they ran out and said they would return, they didn't. The choices for breakfast seemed quite restricted compared to other hotels and there wasn't enough staff on duty. A dirty tea towel was left on the table next to us for the entire duration of breakfast.
Shabby chic, mostly original features and everything worked for us. If you want plastic go elsewhere. £52 b&b and £12 parking made a good overnight stay on an Everton euro night.
Location, price, quietness.
Hotel has clearly seen better days and sadly not recently.
Location for Central Liverpool, Lounge comfortable.
Lack of Cleanliness carpets very badly soiled and draft from windows. Very basic facilities Breakfast very expensive for what it was. Disappointed.
Very out dated !!
Friendliness & effeciency of staff
Should be given Wifi code when booking in. Television in room just seemed to have been plonked on a table
Nothing really apart from the lift broke.
location and breakfast
everything else very poor in need of a refurbishment
It was handy for the station and the shops. Everyone was really nice and helpful and the room was comfortable and almost spotless.
The only problem I encountered was the steps up to the hotel as I took my 18 month old foster daughter in her pram but people helped me in.
Hotel has alot of character staff pleasant rooms big and comfortable excellent location close to city centre and train station breakfast good with plenty of choices
Couldn't turn central heating down in room was quite hot room was at front of hotel and there was quite alot of noise from outside.
The only positive things were the position of the hotel and the hotel desk service - which was efficient although I did not ask much indeed...
The room was small, close to the elevator and therefore extremely noisy. For two days I could not take breakfast cause the dining room was too full and there was an incredibly long queue. The cleaning was minimal, I even found an envelope with garbage on the desk - they forgot maybe?? For that price, one should get much better.
The building and the location are fantastic
Its all a bit tatty really, but I guess that makes it affordable - the bathroom was cold. There aren't many staff around at all and there are a lot off drunk people about in the early hours - but not too noisy
Loved the charm and historic opulence of the hotel
Somewhat in need of refurbishment but you have to get over that and just enjoy the building
no discount on parking
location parking staff at reception very helpful
the lengthy queue for breakfast room, although clean was a little tired looking and needed sprucing up - especially the bathroom.
Food and service great ....
Bathroom...unfortunately no where to hang shower head , tap's leaking ...water everywhere ...had to ask extra Towels to soak up mess .....
Old hotel with lots of character.Food was good.Bar was cheap.will go back .
Rooms were very hot.
Position Grand old features Value for money
Beautiful Grand Hotel left to slowly wither and crumble . Desperate for an uplift. Mattress felt 30 years old terribly uncomfortable. However fantastic value
Facilities, staff, close proximity to train station , city centre
Looked tired, in need of upgrading, rooms need refurbishment
The Health Centre is a Health Hazard, I have never been in such a filthy dirty place in all my life, in the pool you can run your hand along the edge and filthy dirty scum comes off along with hair, I left immediately, the cheek of it was we was being asked to pay a further £4.00 for the use of this facility. The changing rooms were just the same, I am not in any way exaggerating, it was quite incredibly filthy, as we walked through the gym area this was also the same, sadly to really appreciate what I am saying you would have to go your self, it really is that bad, however I wouldn't recommend you doing so!
The shower was powerful
The heat in the whole hotel was far too high and when I asked for the heating in my room to be turned down I was told it is either on or off.I had to pay more for my room as a single than my 2 friends with breakfast in a shared room, I paid £110 and they paid £96, discrimination again for single people
