Britannia Airport Hotel South Manchester  

Frankly speaking, was not very happy at all during my stay, it the worst hotel in my life I have seen.

When I checked in , we got a staff that was rude to customers in even us, was not very professional, he was chewing his gum like a goat ,it was very unpleasant to see these kind of poeple working in hotels. I would recomend people never go onto hotels pictures ,The pictures on the website looked really good hence the reason we booked the room, however when we saw it in real life it was nothing like what we saw it was the exact opposite we thought about booking another hotel when we saw it but couldn't get one close to where we were. The hotel inside could use updating it looks very modern in the pictures but is very old fashioned this was the worst I have ever been , oh god, lift was very smelly, rooms were very small, bathrooms were dirty, towels havent been changed even shower cap were being re used again , difference were just only in new box, no heating in the room, beds were very uncomfortable.The food in the hotel was discusting I have a wide experience of hotels and would definetly not reccomend this one.

The Hotel is very close to Manchester Airport ( 3 mile), and the hotel runs a mini bus service to the airport. At a cost of £5 per person.

I was in room 827 on the 8th floor, this has to be one of the worst hotel rooms I have been allocated in the uk. The room was stinking of dam and although the room was sufficient for a single traveler with the layout etc. that is no excuse for giving this room out to a fare paying traveler, after being unable to stay any longer in the room I went and complained to the hotel reception and was given a room on the 1st floor, which was acceptable clean and smell free. However I do believe that £5 for a seat on the mini bus for a 3 mile journey is extremely expensive, when you consider that in just one run the hotel made £35 out of 7 people for just one journey to the airport, when a taxi for 4 would have cost £11 Also there was a special deal on at the hotel for £19 and my room cost £29 as I had booked through booking.com, just don't figure??? No wonder the reception just told me that they had already processed my credit card.

Convienent for airport with parking. Clean rooms . Staff were helpful and pleasant. Early morning call. Easy public transport into City Center. OAP's Go Free. Inexpensive.

The location was good if your using the airport and for price

Hotel room was very old fashioned, smelt and very tatty. Staff were very blunt and helpful sometimes. Food in restaurant was very poor.

Economical and convenient

Hotel was poor. Me and my partner visited the hotel for four noghts because we had tickets for a show and brcause we booked on booking. Com the price was cheap. We arrived and was given our room key. We arrived at our room to find a filthy descusting room which had obviosly not been cleaned as there was an empty viagra packet in the middle of the floor and filthy marks on the carpets and dirty sheets. We were discusted and given another room which was alot nicer and cleaner but we did not feel comfortable throughout our stay having seen the previouse room. I Read bad reviews about the hotel before I booked the accomadation but thought it was guests being over exagerant but now wish id listened. I have a wide experience of hotels and would definatly not reccomend this one.

The room was not very clean the carpet was very dirty just generally not clean and breakfast wasn't very good either

The hotel had a great deal on the Breakfast and they reduced the price for my son, which was very appreciated

Well was very frustrated as we could not call Ireland on 00353 from the hotel, we arrived at 9pm on the Friday and had to ring my wife to say we arrived, no one new that they could not ring Ireland and spent an hour messing around in the room and reception, then had to take my son out after 10pm to find a phone so I could ring my wife, she was worried as we did not phone around the expected time! Please Please change this for Irish guests.

stayed 4 nites out of which there was no bed sheet on d matres even though i cal reception when i came back 9pm but they told me staf will be available tomoro to do the bed sheet but next day there was no bed sheet they provided me 1 but refused to put on and ask me to do my self next day when room service came i asked them to put on and they did ths is a very bad experience

Stayed in room 227, which resembled a grotty a b and b from 20 years ago, curtains hanging off, windows so dirty you couldn't see through them. This hotel is screaming for a total refit. In its present condition I would not return or recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Manchester it would give people a poor impression of what Manchester has to offer. Sorry Brittania you know its true. Also the website picture of the room gives an impression of a modern hotel room which it certainly isn't you should be had under the trade descriptions act.

We only used this hotel as it was close to manchester airport.

We booked this hotel in March and we resquested a smoking room was very disappointed only to be told on arrival this was not possible.I Thought in booking 8 months early they would have been able to a accomadate us.
