Nothing, worst hotel I have ever stayed at. No aercon had to sleep with windows open as to clamy in room which you wouldent swing a cat in,had to close windows because of noise and even then could not get any sleep. There 3 nights and got about 4 hours sleep for the 3 nights, I.e, you could hear everything going on next door, plus sound of seagulls outside, and bin lorrys, and street sweepers, plus every drunkin yob you could think of shouting outside, plus paided well over the odds, ie booked well in advanced but found people hu booked 24hr or just arrived got a better deal than me which really pissed me off, when I questioned this at counter with a rather full in your face manager I was told, well these are the prices you agreed to so that is it. Never again will I stay there and would rather sleep on the street. Tony.

Staff were friendly and even volunteered to help direct us to a local car park. The beds were clean and bathroom adequate and clean. A room for £32 (for two) - I suppose we got what we paid for. The hotel is quite dated. Furniture and fittings were well past their prime and the overall impression was scruffy and in need of a revamp.

Great location and welcoming staff There was absolutely no air conditioning in room 916, also no window so the room was really stuffy. The mattress was old and springy so needless to say my partner and i had an absolutely rubbish nights sleep and checked out early so We could go home and get a few hours sleep before picking the kids up.

A very central hotel at a good price. The front staff was rude. A 2 pound charge for credit card on a 32 pound room was a bit steep. The revolving door entry is small and very heavy. A TV with only the 5 main channels in this day and age is a bit behind the times.

The wonderful street violin solo before breakfast, being so close to the railway station, within easy walking distance of Symphony Hall, the Canal Walk, The Ikon Gallery, the shops and restaurants.

The location is very good, close to the railway station and to Bullring shopping center. Breakfast also is good. I booked two rooms, one single and one twin. The single was ok but the twin room was very small. On booking.com was stated that the room is of 20 square meters and in reality was around 12 (the room number was 330). The first room offered was even smaller and I requested a bigger one that was as I stated less than 20 square meters. The second and very unpleasant was the fact that there was no GSM coverage in the rooms (320 and 330) on both networks, Vodafone and Orange.

We had got an early flight so we were at the hotel for 8:30 am. I asked if it was possible to check in to any room because we had been awake since about 4am. The Eastern European woman at reception got us a room straight away and this meant we could catch up on a few hours rest. The room we stayed in was clean and serviced but as my girlfriend noted there were cobwebs behind furniture like the bedside lockers.

Only it's location The hotel is very tired looking, needs a complete overhaul to bring it into this century and employing staff with good english speaking skills would be a far better idea

As my intention was relaxing and shopping, the Hotel's situation was excellent. Staff both in reception and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. Could do with a bigger luggage space for one who has a late flight and has to vacate the room by 11.00am. Luggage is kept in a small store room under the stairs and is offered on a first come first served service.

Although olde worldy and can do with a spruce up, we had a smokers room and it was spotless, old hotels have character and the staff were really great and helpful too.
