The staff were very helpful and when I had an issue with my room (air con not working), they were up to the room within minutes and resolved the issue just as quick (with a complementary breakfast thrown in). the hotel is very basic and as a business traveller, it may not feel like a home from home; some of the rooms are quite small and you need to ask for regular items such as ironing board. |

Nice central position for shopping, events and entertainment venues Although it does state there is no parking at the hotel - it should have been made clearer that it is in a pedestrianised area and parking is a ncp carpark (£13.50) some distance away, so quite awkward with luggage etc. |

So very hard to find - entrance of the hotel not even facing on the street.... Asked for a non-smoking room - they gave me a smoking room (and couldn't change it). Paid for b&b, they told me I was R.o (they later accepted their mistake but lady at reception never apologised!). Tv was not working, bathroom looked 50 years old, no airconditioning and couldn't open the window due to the noise coming from the back of the hotel (some kind of generator?), the whole presentation of the hotel was so dated and off-hand it was unbelievable. Noticed trays outside the rooms remained uncollected from the previous night and at least until I checked out. A very unplaisant experience, couldn't leave early enough in the morning. You have been warned..! |

Good value for money and very central for the shops etc. Decor a bit tired. Would not want to pay a lot to stay there. |

Location Plenty -- I have written a letter of complaint to them. Room very dark (with light on) so not possible to work in the room, also no real surface on which to work unless you clear the small table for tea-making facilities, but even then there is not space for a chair to sit on at it. As I was there on business, being able to work in the room was crucial. Asked to move room, but couldn't. Asked for a refund (had literally just paid 10 minutes earlier when I checked in) but they said they'd bring me a lamp. Despite reminding them twice, this never arrived. When I called to complain, I was told they'd tried to ring me (I'd been by the phone the whole time) and that there was no lamp. By this time it was too late to move hotels and I had lost three hours when I needed to be doing work for the next day's meeting. |

Hard to comment as we did not arrive until 4am and left at 11am. The hotel was kind enough to look after our bags whilst we shopped. They also allowed us to check in earlier due to the fact we knew we would not be returning until the early hours of the morning. Unfortunately the boiler broke in the morning and we had to shower in cold water. When I came to check out there was no mention of this until we asked why. An apology or discount would of been nice to hear. |

Hotel is very central. Pub and cinema just across the street and shops in the buildings next to it. It's a few minutes walk to the shopping centre (Bull Ring) and the train station. Pub and cinema just across the street. Staff very friendly, especially the waitress who was working in the restaurant! They also have a floor that have rooms which allow smoking, which was convenient for me! There wasn't a good variety of food at the hotel restaurant, was buffet the one night we ate there. The waitress did say there was a big function on and they had only one chef....but they should have prepared for it. Also we put a 'do not disturb' sign on the door when we went out as we didn't want the room cleaned as our luggage wasn't packed. They still entered and cleaned.... |

We had gone to Birmingham especially to see Jimmy Osmonds final 2 shows (Chicago) at the Hippodrome.if I hadnt stayed in a hotel, I wouldnt have been able to see his last show, because the trains would not have got me home.I Found the hotel to be what I needed for my particular trip and have no complaints. I was on a budget and this fulfilled my needs! Central heating(???) was a bit noisy, but thats only cos I am used to quiet. My son mentioned the decor being "dull" but he is 15, what did he expect?!! My son also mentioned about the "view", but I told him we got what we paid for(you cant keep everyone happy!!!! Especially 15 year olds!!!!)and that we were 6 floors up. The things I have mentioned, I dont think you can do alot about . |

Perfect position in the city centre and the New Street rail station. One of the staff was extremely friendly another wasn't. An old building. Missing few things like iron. Didn't like the revolving door especially when I had luggage. |

liked the building is a shame is not well exploited to its full potential, it can be a very beautiful hotel and I think the website is very deceiving Very low standard, room looked dirty, not enough ligth in the room, I wish I had a torch to see what I was doing. Very noisy at night, had a very bad night. |

The bar area was relaxing and informal The corridors were dark and dismal and stale. No parking facilities, this was only made clear after I booked the hotel. |

I was shocked at how clean and bright the rooms were in real life, the online pictures did not do it any justice. I would recommend the hotel to anyone, the hotel was perfect for our shopping break, and the street was quiet at night so we could get to sleep easily. |
