Food was good and plentiful some staff were pleasent and helpfull
beds were like rocks room curtains were dirty especially the nets windows did not open very wide bathrooms had no hand rails for the elderly to assist getting in the bath,(on booking I did tell the hotel I was traveling with an 82 yr old lady)
The bed was awful the two singles were put together with a sheet on top therefore giving us a terrible nights sleep. The view from our window was dirty curtains n cigarette butts.
Lovely comfortable bed, soft clean towels & toiletries, tea/coffee kettle & a tea pot
After walking into the room at 2.30pm the first thing I noticed was the curtains were drawn, then I noticed the toilet seat was broken but before I could report it a man walked into the room (without knocking the door first ) to change it I don't know who made each other jump first, after he had gone I opened the curtains I had the shock of my life to see a dark open concrete walkway which I assumed must have been the centre of the hotel as we were facing a wall of windows, on the path/walkway were used condoms, a half empty carton of milk & cutlery!! needless to say I shut the curtains again & had to keep the lights on all afternoon as it was so dark. After some fiddling around I managed to get the tv to work not that I particularly wanted to watch it but I couldn't get the radio channels on at all.
The company I had with me
The guy at reception was rude and very unhelpful!!!
THE STAFF WERENT FRIENDLY SAW A RAT OUTSIDE THE HOTEL FOOD WAS AWEFUL ROOM WASENT CLEAN
Really early check in time. Room smelt smokey when we got in even tho requested non smoking. Bed wasn't comfortable as it was 2 singles joint together. Room was also dirty. Rooms need upgrading
Shower was powerful Housekeeping was lovely... very friendly and accomodating Clean sheets but torn
Not suitable for tall people On the main road so very loud with passers by Very dirty windows Very uncomfortable beds Dirty chairs with what can only be explained as 'suspitious stains' ONLY ONE PLUG SOCKET! and that was a very bad connection as it was loose.
So much noise from the corridor and other rooms. Woke me up many times during night though I'm a deep sleeper. No wifi in my room, but my colleagues in the other floor had wifi.
Great location Comfy bed Friendly staff
Bath was very small Water got very hot!
Good central location, efficient check-in and departure
Kitchen closes very early, bathroom suite looked very dated.
Decor and furniture looking a bit tired
My room smelled of treacle pudding and made me feel cosy.
When entering my room I was amazed to find it had no window! What kind of hotel has windowless rooms? Ok good for Vampires but not the average human traveller.
The Shower worked!!
Pretty much everything else. If your desperate you can get a bed here, I guess!!!
The buffet breakfast was ample and the location is close to New Street Station and easy to find.
Rude and unhelpful staff. Placed in a smoking room without consent or knowledge. No signage to indicate it was a smoking room. When I asked to be moved I was only offered air freshener! When I complained in the morning I was told that it was my fault for not complaining earlier. Breakfast ample but nothing fresh - fruit tinned.
Location - close to Lime Street Main Line station and within waling distance of Bullring shopping Centre and the outstanding buildings such as the New Library,ICC etc.
Very well worn mat.tress on bed. Poor buffet breakfast ie. over cooked bacon, hard fried eggs, watery canned tomatoes and cold mass produced toast, with jam and marmalade in large open single bowls rather than in sealed jars
It was grubby, shabby, falling apart. Carpets covered in stains, unhelpful staff. I will never visit this hotel again.
list would be endless
Nice bed and whole room was clean
Reception staff not so helpful but staff at the restraunt and bar were polite.
I just would not advise anyone to stay there! ever!
This hotel has smoking rooms Close to New Street Train Station Good breakfast Fair price
My room was very hot. No ventilation in room or bathroom. I had to move the bed close to the open window to get just a bit of cool air.
The location of this hotel was good and this was my main reason for picking this accommodation. The price was good.
The décor of the hotel was very dated. During my stay there was street work going on right outside the hotel which woke me at 6.30. I believe this work is due to continue for several weeks.
A good Welcome from receptionist. Guy serving in bar very helpful in giving directions that I wanted. Night porter very polite.
Room very dusty. hotel needed a good clean. dark and dated.
Hotel very well placed. Clean rooms
Slightly dated but cimforrable
Only 100m from Birmingham New Street railway station. Tea-making facilities. Cleanliness of room. Room price, bed comfortable.
Noisy major air conditioning plant/fan noise (outside windows) made it hard to sleep well. Hotel a little tired and in need of a refurbishment. You get what you pay for though.
price,location and helpful staff.
