The food was terrible and over priced the staff we not friendly and the hotel was dirty
loved how close it was to the shops and how easy it was to book, check in and stay. rooms were clean and tidy, breakfast buffet was good
tv was dated and couldn't see it from both beds. reception staff were rude when we asked for service after waiting 15 mins while they chatted in the back but sorted out our query quick.
Most of it.
This man was too busy on his phone and watching a film om his I PAD or what ever and chatting to his mates that called in to speak to him to notice waiting guests who wished to purchase a drink, as an ex publican he would have been dismissed on the spot, this is the 2nd time this has happend at this hotel in the last 3months, there is always somthing to do behind a bar, if you have time to lean you have time to clean,
Location was good
The hotel had a bad smell Room was covered in stains from ceiling to carpet ! Paintwork chipped all round hotel needs complete refurb !!!
I like the location. Frienfly staff
The rooms look tired. Squeaky bed and no digital tv
Should have free wi-fi like most London hotels have
Everything else is ok should have free wi-fi
The water heater works well.
The toilet so dirty. The window can't close completely. So cold in the room.
Poor staff and not pleasant rooms
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The upgraded room was MUCH better than our original room - and had so much more space - albeit really quite cold.
The original room we had was REALLY dire - peeling wallpaper, the carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned for years and the bathroom door couldn't close, the window had a massive gap and wouldn't close properly. No phone signal either.
Good location. quiet
It was all a bit basic - but very good value for money
The manager on duty is so friendly and polite
One of the reception staff is not so polite when i asked bout depositing my luggage
Great baths and showers. Comfortable bed. Super location for bullring Central Birmingham and new street station Staff very pleasant and helpful if not understaffed and overworked and in need of some additional skills training .. Good service on the whole.
I've stayed in these hotels a lot and the food is universally awful across the chain.. And I'm the least fussy water in the world. The decor is really dated and noise pollution from the street and pidgeons can be very high on the lower floors ... TV and channels are a waste of time seldom get a remote that works or more that 3 channels on an ancient tiny screen.
The staff were very friendly, especially the night staff. The room was clean and had everything needed.
The wifi is non-existent on the top floors
no wifi in the room，that's not convenient。
They have smoking room facility
Over priced for the quality of visit. Very dirty rooms and old fashioned
Location to shops
Very dated throughout. Hasn't seen a paint brush since it opened. Wouldn't dream of having a bath due to dirty bath. Will not be going back.
Excellent location and great value for money. Had read some bad reviews so was a bit wary and yes the place is a bit dated but our experience at the Britannia was fine, would definately stay here again.
Location stop on
Asked for no smoking and it stank of cig's also asked for lower floor because wife cant use lifts got given 7th floor would have rather been told no lower floors then could have booked some where else
We booked an executive twin but on arrival we were told that we had been booked for a standard twin and that was all that was left
Near train station buffet style breakfast
The room, wardrobe very unstable, tv very old could only get 4 channels,
Bed was comfy, staff were very polite and helpful.
Paid £130 for one night, the toilet handle was broken, took 4 times to flush each time. The room was dirty and hot (even with no heating on and window open) and the drain on the bath was grimey. There were only two plugs in the room and the bed sheets were stained. In all honesty, I would like my money back, I would have paid £30 at a push for the room for one night, I understand it was a weekend and its near christmas but that is no excuse for the price and state of the room. Im not one to complain at all, but this just wasnt on.
Situated in a good area an beds were ok
2 plug sockets tv was old room looked very dated the windows needed cleaning but a 40 pound I suppose it could of been worse
Location is good
poor acoustic partition and we could not fall asleep. No wifi. And someone tried to enter our room at midnight! It's really scared!!!
