Lack of wifi, only available in public space.
the room/decor was clean and comfy. Room was warm and cosy
There was a humming noise coming from jus outside the window (my room overlooked the central courtyard - possibly an airconditioning unit etc. Wasnt pleasant.
The price and the cleanliness
A very tired and old fashioned hotel. Whilst clean, the windows externally were appalling. You could hardly see out!
The only plus for this hotel is the location..
were to start...carpets and chairs were filthy..The long mirror was covered in what looked like mud..The radiators were covered in dust....and the curtains were falling off the tracks..The whole 9 floors need to be re-vamped...
A 'tired' hotel we got what we paid for, so we were satisfied.
Room was dirty, bedding was yellow looked like someone had urinated in the bed.
Everything was horrible.
Very good location, great shower
Was a little shabby. You get what you pay for
Staff are hospitable.
Poor facilities, all the kettles get rusty for example.
Needs a revamp in all aspects
The location was perfect. A bit noisy but this was expected given its location in the centre of town particularly over the weekend.
There was no wifi and no working phone. Difficult as I was expecting contact from NZ and the calls could not be put through . Apparently the system had been down for 2 weeks. Unbelievable in England's 2nd largest city!
Very close to Bullring and Train Station
towels were dirty and bed is uncomfortable
Great location to the city centre and train station
Awful decor . One of the worst beds I have slept in. Wifi was slow. Screaming school children. Lifts temperamental.
Location, tea/coffee, warm
old television limited channels,
No wifi Very unclean Needs refurbishment Very thin walls Tv not working half of the time
not much - wine was cheap
The beds & pillows!
Great location, easy to find."shabby chic" pretty foyer
Toilet wouldn't flush, kettle was dangerous TV broken, dirty carpet, stained bath, only one usable power point. Noisey thin walls.
In the city centre, didn't have to travel to get to places.
The room was freezing(I woke up in the middle of night from cold) even with electric heater in the room. The room was ugly, the wallpaper and carpet looked very old.
Location was good and lobby & jennys restaurant were nice. Good breakfast.
Room was dirty & poorly decorated. Bath was stained & had hair in it. Sink unit was filthy along with the floor. Carpet wasnt vacuumed and was dirty & stained. Net curtain was filthy. Cobwebs in room. Bed sheet was dirty. Peeling wallpaper. Lime green walls, blue carpet, woodwork black and furniture brown. Loose glass covering furniture. Couldnt open wardrobe as it hit the bed. Telephone service wasnt working. You can only get wifi in reception and bar. Only 1 plug in room. Couldnt get tv to work. Lamp was flickering when it finally came on. 1 lamp wasnt working. Window was broken & in poor condition with tape covering cracks. Room was cold despite turning radiator up, no thermostat in room. Outside was shabby looking and we saw a mouse around the entrance. Not enough towels. Pillows were hard. Duvets were very thin. Spring gone in bed. Unbranded tea, coffee & cereals. No warning on shower for extremely hot water. Nearly broke my neck getting out of shower as no bath mat. Staff seemed impatient. Corridors smelled funny.corridor door slammed after me and hit my foot.
Room very very dark. Most plug sockets so old couldn't fit my plugs in ! Kettle didn't work ! Lock on door broken.
Great location near the city's main train station.
Room too dark. The majority of the plug sockets within the room were incompatible with modern plugs including facilities supplied by the hotel e.g. trouser press. Hotel reception also were unhelpful in supplying plug adaptors.
The room was warm and although basic served the purpose.
The bar was closed due to the pumps not working!. The windows were old and there was a draft and it was also quite noisy due to road works outside.
