Very close to the market square and high quality restaurants.

room had no window and the ceiling was cracked (room 235). Bathroom smelt strongly of damp. For the middle of summer the room was red hot, although there was a fan provided, it did little to cool us down.

The area was beautiful, grounds well cared for and staff were helpful. Bathroom in our room looked as if it was newly fitted and very clean.

Bedroom was small and too warm, not enough ventilation. Mealtimes were oversubscribed and confused due to coach parties on a schedule.

    Close to town

Older female bar staff member at bar seemed put out when had to serve us. Would be good to be greeted with a good morning at breakfast instead of 'room number' and no eye contact

Staff were extremely helpful Can't help but feel they are trying to do the best with what they've got , Management need to spend some serious money to get the hotel upto a better standard.

Hotel is old and worn down, more money needed to be spent to rejuvenate the hotel. I won't be back until this happens.

Grounds and hotel interior that was the reason I booked as I like the older style hotels with a history to it. Room was warm and cosy. We both had two good nights sleep as beds very comfy. Staff really friendly and helpful. My daughter and I can't wait to go back. She loved the pool and there is so much to do there. Breakfast was excellent.

Some of the guests leaving rubbish or breakfast dishes dotted around the hotel.

Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Nice and relaxing break. Beautiful grounds and within walking distance of a lovely village. Would definitely go back again.

Nothing really to dislike about hotel just needs a bit of TLC in some places but would not put me off going again or recommending to friends and family.

Very good location for my needs

I've stayed at Bosworth three or four times over two decades, and witnessed a further decline on each occasion. This is now positioned as a "bus tour" hotel, with "entertainment" and service arrangements set up to suit . Why, for example, when I have an open charge set up on my room account was I told I could not have breakfast until I had gone to reception to buy a ticket to present to the dining room staff? I was also told on arrival at their "higher end" dining room to "sign to say that I had arrived" -- clearly this was to sign a blank check for a room charge, despite being told the contrary "It's just Brittania Hotels rules" ... and lo and behold, at the end of the meal - no need to do anything, we'll charge it to your room - already signed. The wifi didn't work in my room; and the room info was well out of date regarding hours of spa operation (steam room not working) , existence of a laundry service etc. The shower had no effective temperature control and varied from cool to scalding. A real shame. Most of this would only take a bit of organisation to improve, if only they had a will to do so.

    Not very much

The close proximity to Market Bosworth. The grounds were impressive and the staff were friendly.

The breakast tables needed to be cleared more quickly. They need someone to be doing this all the time during service. In room 62 we could only open 2 small windows and as it exceptionally hot when we stayed the room could do with a ceiling fan. Also a double socket is required near the kettle as you couldn't have the kettle and the bedside lamp on at the same time.

The location and building is good

The staff are pointless. The food is awful The rooms are dirty and out of date The communal areas are chaotic and dirty. There is food all over the floor in the breakfast room. Never consider having meal. Possibly worst place I have ever stayed

It was cheap, booked last minute, £40 but not worth a penny more

Room not decorated in 20 years. Shower leaked, bedside light didn't work. Tiny double room, barefl room for luggage. Poor signage of rooms. E wry thing I hate about fading British hotels. Staff smoking by the entrance door. Shabby, not going back ever!!

Location was convenient for me and the setting is good. Market Bosworth is also a nice town.

Very hot, no airc-onditioning in small and cramped rooms. Very busy and noisy at night with weddings / live music and thoughtless revellers. Poor choice of ales in the bar. Whole place shabby and in need of a facelift. Very limited breakfast and some items ran out.

The grounds and architecture were lovely, something I felt was a complete contrast to the quality of the food and general atmosphere.

Jenny's restaurant and the bar, with seating area, felt no different or better than your average Wetherspoons. It was almost the complete opposite to the impression one received when booking and ben upon arrival along the drive. There seemed to be no standard set - little different to a rather uncouth pub in the east end. I thought perhaps the standard would be better in the cocktail car section with restaurant but I was exceedingly disappointed with the standard of food (the service, however was excellent). On the menu, as a starter, was worded 'prawns in spicy sauce'. I genuinely wanted to laugh out loud when the waitress placed what was simply prawn cocktail and I bet out of a packet - it did not in any way taste fresh. The lamb main cause was ok but only ok (please do something more than simply boil green beans!). House wine was mediocre. Whole meal was NOT worth £22. Pretty bad. The bedroom was substandard (the sofa felt so old and worn). Didn't sit on it once. Yuk. Saying all this I now realise why it was so cheap.
