Excellent breakfast included in price. Quiet.
At 5ft 2in the bathroom mirror was too high!
For £31 for a double room you really cannot fault this hotel. Clean room, great spa facilities and beautiful old quirky building.
We did not eat here so unable to comment on the food.
The food was great as were the surroundings would return most definitely. excellent value for money.
Room spacious but old and tired. Clean though, and bed really comfy. Full of chavs because of really cheap deals but village on the doorstep so no problem.
Room 23 ... Window looks directly... And I mean directly into the main walkthrough.literally. Otherwise... What do you expect for the money.
It was generally fairly clean.
Extremely dated upholstery. Very few TV channels on a CRT tv. Very poor wifi and no phone reception. The restaurant smelt of boiled cabbage.
Location, relaxed atmosphere, hotel changed our room when we requested without any drama,
Room 129 has air con generator outside window that runs all night. No sleep on first night. On the plus side hotel did change our room for our 2nd night when requested
The whole hotel needs a make over. More staff are needed for the volume if guests at breakfast time.
The hotel is set in lovely grounds
I had a very rude duty manager that ruined my stay.
Staff. No heat.
The grounds and setting is lovely
Room was shabby. Staff were not willing to help. Paint was peeling off the walls in the bathroom. Very tired looking, in places dirty. Breakfast was poorly presented and not at all appetizing. Plates and spoons, cutlery dirty. Would never return which is a pity because with a bit of hard work and training it could be lovely.
Friendly staff, good food and spa!
Decor a bit tired in some of the rooms!
Staff could not be more helpful. Price cannot be beaten for the quality. Rooms are very clean and beds comcy.
Could do with a lick of paint but this adds to its excentricity!
Location to the village through the churchyard was excellent. Spa was good. Staff were helpful and friendly.
There was long dark hair in the sink of our room and cobwebs on the ceiling and wall. It was noisy with regards the floorbords, people walking about in the corridor and above rooms.
Breakfast, hotel room was dated, wallpaper fallen off wall
The staff were fantastic and the hotel was clean, warm and comfortable.
The hotel is tired and close to being shabby which is such a shame as it is in a fantastic location and the staff were superb. The towel rail was hanging off in bathroom for the sake of a screw - lacking attention to detail and the simple things. We had to queue at the bar which was a shame and Jenny's Restaurant only just managed to seat all those who wanted to eat breakfast - perhaps some scheduling required when coach parties are in.
The food was excellent, the staff were friendly.
The room was clean, but alittle tied looking, and the tv was not very good, poor picture quality.
The view from the window
Dirty cups we had and the water was dodgy
Parking that's about all
Small seating area around bar. Car very expensive. Bed hard. Room very small. Tv that Noah used in the ark. Very very noisy hotel. Wouldn't stay there again...
Location was great. Room and bathroom were clean. Grounds lovely. Great value for money at £54 for B&B per room.
The whole hotel and spa looked tired and in need of renovation. Bedroom windows were draughty as they didn't close properly. However, I appreciate that maintaining an old building is very costly.
Excellent value, ample free parking next to village with good choice of eateries.
Public areas a bit tired
Nothing, 40 minute wait for breakfast.
furniture in rooms was disgraceful, ripped and faded upholstery considering it was an executive room
The elegance and general atmosphere of the hotel. Also the pool, as my wife is an avid swimmer.
The bed was very hard! Disappointed that the main restaurant was only a carvery - as this was a special occasion, we wanted something a bit more. The "fine dining" restaurant - Cromwells - wasn't open when we were ready to eat (we are early eaters in the evening) We had a great meal in a nearby village, but this isn't really the fault of the hotel.
Excellent value. lovely setting. Very friendly village and reception
Breakfast gathering not great bit hectic. but still good value.
Nice bar and restaurant.
Not a lot. The town only.
Cheap food thread bear carpets poor cleaning noisy loading bay outside room. Condom and general rubbish left in room not cleaned.
