crowded, poor parking, long past its best
Executive room was newly decorated and very spacious with a settee and comfortable arm chair. Excellent shower.
The bar area and Jenny's restaurant, which is used for breakfast, are badly in need of renovation and updating.
The spa staff were good and the treatments were good. All of the staff talked too seem to know but the "management didn't listen"
Cleanliness, tired and old hotel, and poor cleanliness in pool, restaurant and public areas. Room was the cleanest and variable even though old and tired.
The receptionist was very professional bearing in mind Booking.com had overbooked their rooms. I can only review on a short stay but the location was inviting, all the staff I had contact with were helpful and the room, food and beverages were good value for money.
Just a good place
Bit out the way
Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings.Clean and comfortable room .Friendly staff.Relaxing atmosphere.
Only had breakfast which didn't come up to the standard of the rest of the hotel.
The whole experience
Having to leave
location and cleanliness
So old and tired. No proper TV
Room was smelly, unclean, windows filthy, Bathroom was disgraceful, paintwork chipped, no walk in shower facility for disabled (we booked as such) We didn't stay and checked out
The bed we had was 2 singles together which made a ridge down the middle of the made making sleep uncomfortable
Lovely large bedroom , nice view , pleasant staff .
bathroom had someone else's hair on mirror , needed repainting , stains on bathroom wall.
The hotel was in a nice location staff very friendly restaurant manager was very helpful in obtaining a table in the al carte restaurant
The hotel needs updating the rooms on the ground floor by the pool smelt musty jennys carvery - the carvery food was dreadful, we did not realise there was a proper al carte menue in another restaurant which we used on the saturday. Infact two of our guests walked out do do not like the system whereby you have to put your credit card up to buy drinks COMPLAINTS ARE NOT SETTLED QUICKLY 4 WEEKS ON STILL TRYING TO SORT OUT MY INVOICES
Friendly staff, great location, lovely spa and tennis facilities
Noisy and smelly extraction fan near our window
Nice grounds for a walk. 2min walk into town (but not much there) In house olde pub (but limited seating, especially for the size of the hotel.)
Heating set off fire alarm at 2am. Couldn't get into restaurant as National holiday coach trip had it. Speed bumps.Speed bumps Speed bumps !!! Old style CRT TV. only 6 channels.
We liked the location was peacefully and quiet close to village and amenities
Food wasn't very good had to send a meal back due to being undercooked breakfast ok but not hot enough .the hotel is lovely but getting very tired and worn
Value was overall good, staff polite .... pleasant surroundings, main building church and nearby town of Bosworth delightful.Despite any comments glad I stayed there particularly with my connections to Richard the 111/Plantagenet's.... cheers
Lacked parking for those with a hirer car ie hard to get one. Room water dangerously hot and hard to adjust.....staff could do with more knowledge about Battle Bosworth how to get there when centre is open etc. If I worked would b sure I had knowledge of the this and nearby village ie appear to have some interest themselves in the place and it's history...maybe there is just not met those....also as others expressed they thought they were staying in the main house (but understand I would not had got mine at the price I did if I was in the house so that's OK...) with a small amount of maintenance my room could have been much worn surfaces improved look bit of paint fresher....curtin falling of hooks no effort to put it back did one myself (high Up)....cleaner went in when I had do not disturb may fallen of door as it was torn....Pictures bit too many and faded-dated .... could be fresher make a difference also bad smell of fertilizer last knight from nearby fields - can't be helped . After Staying at 8 hotels in France and England in less than a month I felt the receptionist staff let their hotels down in most cases ......when they had a real opportunity to sell the hotel. People come back if they feel special or feel good about the experience -takes very little to achieve this. -awareness - many young people don't have the ability to recognise or deliver it .... realistically due to the amount of people they handle I guess. Many dealt with customers like they were a number, clearly unable to put themselves in the customers position its a memory for these people ..could see the disappointment in peoples faces ...even if you have something imperfect with your hotel room etc positive well trained staff can compensate for this. I would not employ receptionist staff they did not have excellent interpersonal skills and understand the importance of it can make or break your business....
not comfortable beds.
The Hotel is lovely with nice grounds and a good size room with plenty of hot water, nice walks near by relaxing place with plenty to do.
Food was very poor but not expensive the fish cakes I had had a funny taste and upset my stomach badly which only ever happens in India. Staff could be warmer and the bathroom could be refurbed but not dirty.
Staff did their best but hotel was too busy
Too crowded. Wedding parties both nights we stayed and noise was very bad. Our bedroom was right next to the smoking area. Whose bright idea was that?
Customer service was poor. Staff attitude was poor. They certainly need more training. Food was terrible. Breakfast was cold and rubbery. Room was fair, nothing special. Parking was terrible. Grounds were great.
The hotel surrounds were lovely.
The whole hotel needs a revamp. It looks tired. The main building which is shown on all the pictures looks beautiful from the outside but was in use for a private function. The reception, restaurant and lounge areas are dull - the furniture and decor all in need of a revamp. Our room was much smaller than those shown in all the pictures, but I guess as we got a last minute deal we would get a smaller more basic room. The restaurant should be called a canteen - sloppy and very uninviting. The staff were friendly but all appeared tired. It's such a shame because, from the outside, the building looks fantastic and the setting is lovely.
Hotel rammed with a couple of coach parties. Not a single seat in the bar, no table in the restaurant until late and then all they were offering was the carvery that had been out for hours. Picked against others so I could at least go to the gym in the morning only to find it didn't open until 9.00.
Breakfast staff Location
Diff to find access point. Needs a spruce up. Smoking exposure on front doorstep and main thoroughfare from reception. Difficult to find rooms.
Location Staff Food Going home !
Filthy dirty worn out carpets in public areas Having to wait 15 minutes to get a breakfast table VERY dated bedroom although number 18 had newish carpet
