The location was suitable The grounds & park were nice.
The food was poor with no wine served at table. We will not use this hotel again.
good room,good facilities
unhelpful staff, food not so good
Location, Views, bedrooms and ensuite, friendly staff, and generally a very nice atmosphere,
Cold breakfast, waiting for the toast machine, cigarette butts under the tables outside in patio area, parking, dirty windows around the ground floor,
Generally poor facilities and worn out furniture. It is deteriorating rapidly
Value for money, location excellent, very comfortable room with everything in it that might be needed for a stay, plenty of parking spaces.
Spent quite a long time searching for room, checkin desk not very clear with directions, customer service could have been better, room price value for money but staff not as focused, perhaps you get what you pay for.
beautiful building. sited in lovely village. helpful staff.
very noisy expelair in bathroom.
The rooms were damp All corridors looked like they needed a clean My room on the 2nd night due to changing rooms as booked 1st night separately was filthy with old bed linen which hadn't been changed.
The room we stayed in this time was excellent - huge bathroom
Surroundings clean room
Location. Beautiful exterior. Lovely grounds.
Small grubby rooms. Tacky furnishings e.g. Black plastic bar seats with diamanté studs!
Dated wall paper, small room, bed on wheels in two halves, small tv, wall paper peeling off walls, top of the tap fallen off, very small bathroom
Very close to the market square and high quality restaurants.
room had no window and the ceiling was cracked (room 235). Bathroom smelt strongly of damp. For the middle of summer the room was red hot, although there was a fan provided, it did little to cool us down.
The location of this hotel is beautiful, a lovely village we wish to come back to again. The negative reviews we'd read had dampened our expectations but for the cost (£45 a night), it was beyond anything I have ever stayed in at that price. We were upgraded when we arrived and the rooms were clean, unspectacular, but so much nicer than we expected. The shower was superb and the view fantastic. We'll definitely come again.
Beds were a little on the hard side but other than that, it's hard to see why its had so many negative reviews. It's not a luxury hotel, but probably the nicest "cheap" hotel we've ever stayed in...
The area was beautiful, grounds well cared for and staff were helpful. Bathroom in our room looked as if it was newly fitted and very clean.
Bedroom was small and too warm, not enough ventilation. Mealtimes were oversubscribed and confused due to coach parties on a schedule.
Beautiful location, lovely grounds etc,
Music blaring away until midnight on the first night from a wedding party marquis directly opposite our bedroom. Very poor service. Waiting 80 minutes for a bar meal which arrived cold and tasted like balsa wood. Queuing for set meals, worst case 25 mins to be seated for breakfast.
Close to town
Older female bar staff member at bar seemed put out when had to serve us. Would be good to be greeted with a good morning at breakfast instead of 'room number' and no eye contact
Staff were extremely helpful Can't help but feel they are trying to do the best with what they've got , Management need to spend some serious money to get the hotel upto a better standard.
Hotel is old and worn down, more money needed to be spent to rejuvenate the hotel. I won't be back until this happens.
when i complained about the room they switched us to an upgraded room no questions asked
First Room was next to the kitchen very noisey
The location was great for us as we were eating out with friends near market bosworth. Bar and staff were fine, pool looked nice but did not have chance to use it. Other peoples food looked good but we didn't eat here due to meeting friends nearby.
Our room was really small and not very clean. There were loads of hairs all over the carpet and the bathroom could of been doing with a good scrub. Bath/sink clean just a bit grubby round the edges. Our room over looked where the maids got the lining from so we had noise of metal cages being moved from early. Not ideal as we rarely get a lay-in together as we have 2 young children! Not relaxing night off we had hoped for.
We stayed here for the night before going on to the Bosworth Battlefield Anniversary. My parents had stayed twice before and really liked it. I've read all the negative reviews on all the different sites and I totally disagree with them. This hotel is a lovely old property where I would expect to find big old squishy leather furniture, squeaky floors, doors and worn carpets. The fact that the TV are not up to date flat screens doesn't bother me and didn't bother my 9 yr old granddaughter. When we go away we don't have a need to watch TV, that's the idea of going away. The grounds are lovely and my granddaughter loved them to.There were a lot of children staying there but we didn't see any of them walking around the grounds and enjoying the parkland. The food was good to and we've eaten in places like Raffles in Singapore. We enjoyed a swim in the pool and will definitely go back and stay again.
People who book with sites like Wowcher etc who seem to think they are going to be stopping in a top room. People who stay in an old building and want all the mod cons and sterile atmosphere. The young women in a wedding party who turned up for breakfast in pyjamas and finally parents who have no control over their little darlings by allowing them to jump on furniture etc.
Looks grand from the front, and rooms were clean and tidy.
Internet was not obvious how to connect
Size of the room Polite Receptionists Grounds
Decor, furnishings very tired looking and dated. Beds Holiday camp feel
The price! Although the hotel was further away from the office I was meeting at in Leicester the price was difficult to match. Unfortunately, I didn't get back until after the swimming pool and gym had closed so was unable to try these out.
The shower didn't work.
Price. Bar staff gave very good customer service.
Outdated furnishings Uncomfortably hot in summer. No air con.
Grounds and location are great. Great breakfast.
Carvery meal was just ok. The vegetables were inedible.
