Attended a 2 day tenpin bowling competition. The breakfast was not as good as I expected for the cost, the bacon in particular was a bit too streaky and fatty and the eggs where either hard because they had been sitting around or you had to wait in a queue for ages to gert one. Maybe a choice of fried and scrambled would be a simpler solution.

Coveniently located in city centre, close to public transport and adjacent to Coventry's historic remains and the 'new' cathedral. Retail, commercial, educational and administrative centres are within easy walking of the hotel. For visitors to the city of Coventry, the Britannia can not be beaten. Being a city centre hotel it was a bit noisy, early morning traffic and street cleaning could be heard. The bathroom shower was a bit out-dated. A finer shower head would save water and be more comfortable. An LED light strip, over the bathroom mirror, would illuminate the bathroom more quickly and save electricity. The washbasin would benefit from a modern mixer tap. The door to the room was not a tight fit, noise and light from the corridor was a minor annoyance at times. a secondary door, between the bedroom and the main door would easily solve this problem. The television was very clearly in need of up-dating. A (DAB?) clock radio would be handy. The kettle was too big, this is slightly inconvenient and looks cheap. LED lighting all round would be worth considering in the near future. The corridors are a bit bland, how about some wall art or interesting lighting..... The front door to the hotel is a minor ittitation, only one door of the many seems to be unlocked. I have run an hotel myself, so I do realise that the above list is NOT a complaint, merely an observation worthy of note! I will be returning to the Britannia and I will be recommening it to family and friends.

We were staying at the hotel for business and the hotel was very convenient to where we needed to be. We couldn't believe the price and think it is excellent value for money and would highly recommend it.

Convenience - distance to sports centre. The hotel was clean very good value for money especially the food. The food was excellent, much better frommy last visit. The check out time was too early for this particular visit and I couldn't extend it for more than a hour. The extended hour check out was expensive.

The hotel was quiet and the room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was really awful. All food pre cooked and greasy. Toast inedible. The hotel is pretty badly run down inside and out. Windows are filthy.

Location - convenient for Coventry University. Receptionist was friendly and managed to allow us early entry (by one hour) into the room to enable us to get ready for a Graduation Ceremony. Very dated and really does not a complete revamp. The rooms (premier/upgrated) were tired, for example, dirty carpets, no headboard on the bed, toilets old, wallpaper dirty. The Bar, although fairly pleasant atmosphere again lacked cleanliness and looked tired. Please also note, the Christmas Decorations in the bar area made us giggle, a very random selection of old decorations not really placed in an attractive manner.

It was right in front of the bus station. There was a supermarket nearby. It was very cold everywhere. We had to wear our coats on every time we stepped out of our room, even if at the lounge or in the Priory room. The wifi wasn't available from our room (the infrastructure that's necessary to give internet access to the rooms is minimal). The hotel was untidy. There was dust everywhere and I had to clean the fungae growing out of the bathroom's ventilation system myself. The hotel has not been refurnished in a long time and it desperately needs to be repaired. The elevator always stopped on the 5th floor, no matter what button you pressed. The restaurant only had one menu and it wasn't very cheap, so we always had to eat out. There was so much furniture in our room that we could barely walk: a wardrobe, a table, a chair, two armchairs, another table, a tv table, two bedside tables and the bed (the room was around 3mx3m). The TV could only be seen from one side of the bed. The room didn't look anything like the one in the picture.

Got offered a large room with 2 bathrooms Got charged only for one night for my 2 nights stay. So when i checked out i didnt realise i have not paid for the whole trip and i didnt remember how much i paid. That is confusing because i always pay in full for any hotel bookings and i thought they were cheating on me.

After booking I read some negative comments and was unsure what to expect but I was more than pleased with what I did find, the staff were good, the room was clean and well appointed, the bed comfy, no noise, the breakfast was excellent with a huge variety of food, but ensure you request breakfast when booking as I did or if you don't I understand the breakfast can be quite expensive, have a nice stay as we did. Overall Opinion 10 out of 10. I have no problems with this hotel at all and the value for money is 100% good.

Britannia Hotel was reasonably priced as long as you book online. It is ideal if you are attending interviews for Coventry University as it is literally five minutes walk away. Sadly Britannia Hotel is quite difficult to get to by car due to so many of the roads being one way. There is no hotel parking so you have to park in a council car park across the road.

Although it was expected that there would be no hotel parking, an arrangement with car parks in the vicinity to offer bhc clients a deal would have been appreciated.

The check-in was fast, the rooms well organised and bathroom super. I must not fail to recognise the manager on duty the day after, she is an excellent lady as she attended to my little complaint with passion (please find the name of the manager on duty on 9th January, 2012 to appreciate her). She made my stay interesting by changing my room (to say the least home away from home) and I will continue to use Britainia Hotel next time I visit coventry. I feel this is the only way I can express my appreciation to her and indeed other staff. I planned to spend 4 days but ended up spending 7 days. The network in the hotel needs to be improved as most visitors will not like to expose themselves due to cold by coming out to the common room for internet.

“Very pleasant staff, good value for money. A lot of parking space, we arrived late after a conerence ( after ten) and the hotel must have been full because about forty cars were parked up but we managed to squeeze in.
