Britannia Hotel

I always stay at the Britannia - for the location and the quality breakfast. Don't expect 5* standards - but it IS value for money and very convenient. We had a faulty radiator in our room and it was impossibly hot and we could not adjust it. I reported it to reception and they immediately moved us to another room of the same quality.

I liked the room which was clean and had excellent facilities - shower, hair dryer, TV etc. Although you had to pay extra for it, the buffet breakfast was very good.

I could have used a second pillow and the bed was a bit noisy.

Great location. Big room. Beautiful grand staircase and reception area.

Very dated and in desperate need of a refurb. Some elements of room were bit shabby.

Location for Christmas market, shopping and restaurants is excellent and breakfast was very hood value.

Location was excellent, 5 minutes from Piccadilly Gardens and the main shopping areas, also close to main bus and train stations.

When I arrived there was a lengthy queue of people trying to check in stretching across the lobby into one of the restaurants. The hotel looked tired, F&B outlets were extremely poor - advertising cut price drinks will inevitably attract a certain type of customer. The room was comfortable but badly needed to be refurbished, but worst of all they were not clean, especially the walls and windows. The hotel was also very noisy until the early hours of the morning.

The central location the fact that it is an impressive old building

Yes we were allocated room 103 on the first night and were not made aware that it was directly above the disco. We could hear every word the dj said and the floor vibrated to the music all in all we could not get any sleep until 3a.M. On complaining we were moved to the third floor for the second night. Unfortunatley it meant our break got off to a really horrible start. How they could charge that amount of money knowing waht the outcome would be is beyond comprehension. By the way we are in our fifties so really didn't appreciate the free disco!!!!

The rooms were dreadful, considering the cost and what they were classed as (luxery executive). It needs a total refurbishment.

i liked that it was close to the shops and trains

the hotel looks grand but the rooms need updating if i had paid full price i would have been very unhappy as the pictures are not what the rooms look like, and u dont have a great sleep as the outside noise is very bad

reception good convenient location

not an executive room as far as i could see, noise early morning with regard to bins etc stopped me sleeping. Also not allowed in club as after 11 one of reasons i stayed there

very dissapointed with Hotel

Problems with heating, only warm water, bath plug would not open, bed shabby reported to staff while went out to eat still not fixed on return had to be moved rooms did not expect this poor state for superior suite, the hotel decor was very tired and shabby.I live in the west midlands and due to my job i am now going to be spending 2/3 nights a week in Manchester very dissapointed wiyh hotel feel that i now need to look for different accomadation from new year. I would appresiate your comments

City centre location.

City centre location, therefore difficult to stay away from noise.
