I always stay at the Britannia - for the location and the quality breakfast. Don't expect 5* standards - but it IS value for money and very convenient. We had a faulty radiator in our room and it was impossibly hot and we could not adjust it. I reported it to reception and they immediately moved us to another room of the same quality. |

I liked the room which was clean and had excellent facilities - shower, hair dryer, TV etc. Although you had to pay extra for it, the buffet breakfast was very good. I could have used a second pillow and the bed was a bit noisy. |

The room was a good size, clean and comfortable, and the hotel overall is well presented and very central to everything in Manchester. It is clearly an old hotel and desperately in need of a revamp. The rooms, although comfy, are dated, with wallpaper peeling off in parts and the decor in general is very faded and old fashioned, and the window was never properly closed due to its design so in snowy weather it was letting a draught in. Also the fire alarm went off after midnight unnecessarily. |

The check in staff were efficient and friendly The hotel is clean enough and obviously has the potential to be extremely elegant and luxurious. I imagine it was in the past. Unfortunately it is now a bit run down and the rooms appear old fashioned and grubby. The beds were too short and the bath was dirty. The best thing about the hotel? It is a fantastic investment opportunity if you are brave |

Location for Christmas market, shopping and restaurants is excellent and breakfast was very hood value. Room only had one high window and furnishings and decor need renewal |

Staff were nice , as well as the great location with easy access to whole manchester The hotel is too noisy ,I couldn't have a good comfy sleep because of the noise ,I could hear everything even foot steps of people walking in the street!!!. I had to checkout a night earlier coz of that. Also I put please clean my roon for 2 days and no one seems to bother. |

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The bedroom and bathroom were both dingy, tired, rundown and in urgent need of refurbishment. Some pieces of furniture, the wardrobe for example, looked as though they had been in the room for 50 years. Framed prints on the walls were like someting you'd find in a charity shop or a cheap 1960's b&b. |

Location was excellent, 5 minutes from Piccadilly Gardens and the main shopping areas, also close to main bus and train stations. When I arrived there was a lengthy queue of people trying to check in stretching across the lobby into one of the restaurants. The hotel looked tired, F&B outlets were extremely poor - advertising cut price drinks will inevitably attract a certain type of customer. The room was comfortable but badly needed to be refurbished, but worst of all they were not clean, especially the walls and windows. The hotel was also very noisy until the early hours of the morning. |

The central location the fact that it is an impressive old building Yes we were allocated room 103 on the first night and were not made aware that it was directly above the disco. We could hear every word the dj said and the floor vibrated to the music all in all we could not get any sleep until 3a.M. On complaining we were moved to the third floor for the second night. Unfortunatley it meant our break got off to a really horrible start. How they could charge that amount of money knowing waht the outcome would be is beyond comprehension. By the way we are in our fifties so really didn't appreciate the free disco!!!! |

Hotel service is excellent. Manchester central location next to Picadilly Gardens! Traditional english style hotel! Towels hook in bathroom was missing. One of the two lampshades beside the bed was broken. TV is a CRT type. Bedroom seemed small for an Executive room type accommodation. |

i liked that it was close to the shops and trains the hotel looks grand but the rooms need updating if i had paid full price i would have been very unhappy as the pictures are not what the rooms look like, and u dont have a great sleep as the outside noise is very bad |
