I had to upgrade as first room was not good but was still good value for money second room was good
we liked the location, breakfast was good, bed linen clean
the rooms are very tired looking, mirror hanging off on wardrobe door, dirty lampshades on bedside lamps and mould/mildew in the bathroom. broken window catch, chipped paintwork, tried for over an hour to get room service
Bed was comfy
Noise from street , breakfast not early enough , room decor wallpaper hanging of ceiling tv reception poor
The masterpiece of the architectural syle
It was cheap and has a faded grandeur.
Things broken, looked rough, poor service, faded and tired and not the hotel it once was...
Location was good, stayed before in standard room but booked executive this time, room was small, one socket that was by floor so.useless, shower was ok for me but if you're above 5 foot 3 your head would be touching shower head.one sachet.of coffee each..all in all poor room and.disappointed customer!
We had an awsome suit when we just paid for a double bedroom. And the bath was amazing! Definitely going back with my boyfriend whenever we can.
not a business traveller's standard of hotel at all............
Good value,excellent location.Adequate breakfast. Quiet room.Lovely staircase
Excellent location - unfortunately that's the only thing that was good!
Where to start?? The air con wouldn't turn off (as the switch in our room didn't work) so it was akin to sleeping in an Asda freezer, the room had a smell that was reminiscent of a decaying coffin. The noise was ridiculous as we seemed to be under the army's training base for tank machines (aka the air con machine) . The room did have a great power shower except the moulding curtain acted more as a body wrap when the shower was active. Plus the decor, the 1840s paintings would of been well suited to a home for the elderly and immobile, but for a city centre hotel was rather bleak, however the peeling wallpaper and stained walls were rather distracting so kudos for removing the attention. I'd recommend this hotel as a waiting room for judgement day - at best!
The cost and location were great :)
The bed was never a double and the room was abit dated
I liked the location it was perfect and easy to get to everywhere.
I found the room very stuffy and smelt very stale as with the corridor because of no windows. It ruined my stay. Maybe more ventilation needs to be considered? Or let people no there is no windows...makes you feel like your in a prison.
Can't fault hotel at all
The fact I was woke up
The hotel very close to my business.
The checkout, when I finish 6 days and asked for more 4 days, they let me leave the room at 12:00 and checked in at 14:00 again.
The entrance is stunning with wrought iron staircase The shower Location
Everything else. If there is one hotel which could and should be beautiful then this is it. The entrance is stunning and unfortunately that's where it ends. The rooms are one rung up from a hostel, very tired furniture and stained carpet, old TV and filthy windows Rooms deserve to be gutted and upgraded to match entrance
Bar was well priced - check in / out good , location for the area good
Cold , old room . Needs renovating . Curtains didn't close Heating didn't work at 1st Noisey cellar below
great location and fantastic decoration, nice staff
the bed is small and wifi is slow
Attractive hotel Very central Good value
Super location, friendly staff and beautiful interior/lobby. Loved the entrance with magnificent staircase and beautiful chandelier. Clean and tidy rooms and helpful staff.
Nothing to complain about.
Poor customer service, changed room three times paying extra money for a larger room. Rooms was shabby. Stayed three nights. Never again!! House keeping staff was nice. Reception staff are poor at customer service!!
Friendly helpful staff brilliant lication
The hotel is in a great location it is handy for both train and bus passengers. You can't help but be impressed with the hotel entrance and main staircase, it really is from a bygone time. Registration was east enough and access to our room was straight forward via the two lifts. The room was clean and we'll presented with a good standard of bathroom. Although the room was clean and tidy it was just starting to look a little rough around the edges with wallpaper on the ceiling and walls in need of attention. Overall though the hotel offered great value for money
Nothing springs to mind
were able to get a meal late at night
Only 1 bar person in main bar slowed down service
Nice periodical building
Room was cramped
Beautiful building in its heyday, but now it's very tired
Lack of maintenance, booked a suite with seating area, seats in it would of been helpful
