The staff were excellent and very helpful. The room was clean and very welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good nights sleep.
The shower was very dodgy and could not find the right water temperature. It was too hot to have a proper shower.
The staff were very helpful with all our enquiries. The hotel has a beautiful reception area and staircase. Also, the restaurant in the basement of the hotel do amazing 3 course Sunday lunch for less than £7, same place for a good hearty breakfast to start the day!
We thought it was over priced for the standard of the rooms. The family room was a good size but the quality of finishing was not good i.e. the bath was poorly fitted and old, there was a hole in the bathroom door that had been filled badly, wallpaper peeling in areas of the room, tv was older than my wife (possibly!). There was also a lot of noise from the nightclub downstairs.
Food was excellent & staff very friendly
WIFI was impossible to access & the bedroom was basically in the attic with uncomfortable beds.
The hotel was in a good location and had 2 bars and 2 restaurants.
We only had 2 tea bags and 2 coffee sachets. This is inadequate for a one night stay for 2 people. Also our rooms were on the back of the hotel and the noise from the bars/nightclubs was ongoing till about 4am but that was no fault of the Hotel.
Noisey Room was not made up when returned to hotel in afternoon.
The location was ok
Poor cleanliness of hotel. In need of a total revamp. Definitely not worth the money.
no toilet roll in room and asked 3 times for some and we are still waiting some staff not very helpful
Prompt check in
the bar was very noisy and full of drunks The room was dusty, old fashioned and so noisy. the general outdoor noise was horrendous and we were on the 4th floor. The walls are paper thin we were able to hear the conversation and the showering from the room next door.
LOcation and value for money Breakfast was excellent
The Plumbing to the toilet in the romm was too noisy youhave a pipe problem. Carpet in room is quite worn and stained in places
- very expensive for what offers - very slow wifi - room not so well cleaned
Great location Smoking aloud in room
Room needed updating. Carpet very very worn. Room very old.
Loved the atmosphere it was like a party hotel really lots if different people from all over world we spoke to a few in the hotel bar ... This hotel was huge it had the feel of being in the grand Budapest hotel in the film .. Lots of antiques and the rooms was vintage I actually loved it so did the girls and the rooms were so clean ... Made you giddy the atmosphere was good
The breakfast ! It wasn't a good one but the staff was lovely
The only positive thing was the location as it is very near to coach station.
Quite disappointing to stay there as i was expecting a better place ,the carpet was worn out.the room furniture was quite old.struggled to sleep whole night because of road works outside.
Problem with difficulty in locking my door, mentioned to Reception, sorted out next day
that such a beautiful building needs the décor updating keeping in line with the age of the building
Car Park miles away
How welcoming and helpful the staff were and room was nice
Room was not what I asked for and quite unclean
Great location, good value, attentive staff
It's time for a lick of paint in some rooms and corridors
Wardrode is broken
room was good
think was a bit expensive
Was nice and clean easy to check in and out and the luggage mind was excellent so I could go shopping next day
Decor a bit dated
Tidy dirty room
Very convenient as we used National Express coaches from Liverpool, the coach station is across the road! Comfortable room, warm and clean. We were on the top floor and not bothered by any noise from outside.
Maybe a quiet corner to sit and have a drink away from the TVs?!
