Room was very dirty. Marks on the wall and in the bathroom. Wall paper was coming off. Scuffs in the carpet. Very dull room.
Facilities are not there like safe lockers Bed was not strong No air circulation Staff not responding at all
Super location at a decent price at very short notice. I was very pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. The facilities were nice enough, the best thing for me is that central staircase. I'd stay here again just for that! Stunning staircase.
Too noisy in the early hours, both from the street and the corridors. This is to be expected considering the central location. The decor is approaching shabby so could use a coat of paint and some new doors on the rooms.
Price, location and charm of hotel
gym facilities is not in there hotel but the sister one.
Location Proximity to the city centre, shops & restaurants Clean & surprisingly quiet room
In room décor, pictures & soft furnishings old fashioned
Lumpy mattress shabby dressing table noisy neighbours kids running around early in the morning.dirty carpet
Close to transport links, bars and shops
Carpets stained and ripped. Stains on walls and furniture. Stayed in a room which had windows but couldn't open them
The whole experience... Tacky seedy old fashioned it was how I imagine sleeping in an antique shop would be. Utter disgrace for a city centre hotel.
Water was leaking through window in the room and very dated , breakfast was poor
Location in Manchester city centre (transport links, shopping, entertainment, cultural sites) is excellent. The staff are friendly, relaxed & informative. Breakfast buffet (pay extra) is extensive.
The room was very small with dirty carpets and an awful smell. Only one light switch worked and the noise from outside and in the hotel was very loud.
Air con did not work, the place was very out of date and needs a complete renovation. Hot and badly ventilated - stinks of cigarette smoke.
I can't fault the staff or cleanliness off the hotel. I stayed for the one night and slept very well. Also a fan of security checking we were actual guests when coming back late on.
Me and my friend spent the night in room 410, the hotel was stunning but the room decor was a bit dated. The room just needed a spruce up to make it a bit more ligter and more welcoming.
I like historical buildings nd furniture .this hotel building was perfect for me I visited many new hotels but this was unique with full of histroy especially the staircase
Maintain ness was poor they need to do refurbishing
The hotel was in a great location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. we ate in the pizzeria down stairs in the hotel and we found it to be excellent :)! we will most definitely be back when we come to Manchester again :)
The only thing i taught could be improved was the interior of the rooms. They may need to be re-furnished and updated.
The service of the staff i couldnt fault, they were all polite and wonderfully helpful
The lack of a window and air conditioning meant that we woke up sweating and also found it difficult to sleep in the heat
Beautiful building and staircase. Great for price paid.
Room very warm, even with window open. Decor is a bit tired.
Cheap - though admittedly for a room without windows (as I knew when I booked)
Wifi worked fine the afternoon I arrived, but not at all in the morning. TV barely worked No chair at desk. No main light in the room
Location was brilliant, the facilities within the room were good
There was a strange wet patch on the floor, wallpaper was peeling. Breakfast was absolutely terrible.
Quick and easy check in/out Location Love the beautiful staircase
Tea and coffee making facilities- was a little underwhelmed
location was great beer price
chairs with 3 legs overpriced
Great central location, room clean, reception staff friendly and helpful.
Little bit tatty and needs updating which is a shame,as it's a lovely old building with so much character.
the location and staff were good
the toilets should have more ventilation lifts very slow
Staff were friendly and helpful on arrival and departure,
The price. The location. The decor of room. The entrance way with grand stairs and chandelier.
The smell in the room (old smoking room?). The wait for check in. The head board not attached to bed. Was not obvious from the street, walked past twice!
