Almost nothing, location was good and central and WiFi was ok but that's about it
2 hour disruption with 1am fire alarm was chaotic with nobody on the staff knowing what was going on. Room very pokey TV did not work properly I could make a bed better when I was 10 years old For the price it was dreadful
Near metro link stop City Centre Location 24/7 reception Good value buffet breakfast
Hotel was a bit tired in places - worn carpets, handrail broken in lift, latch on window in room broken (unable to close window)
Noisy wooden floors, small double bed, fire alarm went off at 2am.
Location, bar and the interesting building.
The breakfast sausages and the black pudding was over cooked. Not really a major issue but something that could be improved.
The location is between the city center and the main rail station, its a 5 minutes walk in either direction
An old building and old furniture, no fridge, no iron, ... only the very basics
old decor dirty carpets uncomfy bed
Fire alarms were set off several times from 01:30 onwards not hotel fault but security very slow in dealing with drunk who was setting them off
Car park decent trek away Room run down with thread bare carpet and old fashioned etc
Great location and friendly staff.
Worst nights sleep I've ever had in a hotel. Fire alarm went off at 1am due to a fault. Room was shabby and poorly kept. Smoke detectors had plastic bags over, walls were damp and dirty. A real shame as the building is beautiful.
Pleasant staff (mostly)
Hideous decor away from the public areas. Nightclubs in basement. Midnight fire alarms. Depressing rooms with thin walls. Only stay here if you're desperate.
It's a central location
Firstly, when we arrived and got to our room, the room was old and tired. There were stains on the ceiling and the upholstery. The art work on the walls was terrible and there was the smallest, oldest box tv which I've not seen anything like it in years. We had a terrible night sleep. Despite being on the 4th floor there was a nightclub downstairs and all we could hear was 'boom boom boom' through the walls and windows. Secondly, there was a fire alarm that went off about 8 times over a period of 30 -45 minutes. We were told we did not need to evacuate. However, at 1am this is the last thing anyone needs. Any decent establishment would have a rapid response team to find the fault and then decide whether or not to sound the alarm for the whole hotel. It was complete nonsense. Anyone reading this -- for the price, you are much better going slightly further away - you can get much more quality for a lot less money. I certainly won't be staying here again!!
I loved the very central location of this hotel and all the staff had a smile on their faces. That tells you a lot about the running and management of this fine hotel.
I couldn't enjoy my time longer! ;)
Excellent facilities, location, price etc.. A good mid range hotel for the money you pay.
There was no real window in our room, only a tiny skylight, so felt abit like a cell & as a result of this the air circulation was poor.
The location of the hotel and quick service during check-in and out Good rates
No wi fi Poor facilities
I was put in a smoking room when specifically asked not to. The bedding had cigarette burns through it. Paid for less for hotels with much better facilities.
Value for money, location!
Decor, executive room more like budget!!!
The breakfast The temperature of the room
Location is great
Room was noisy with disco. Didn't think it was an Exec room, which I paid for!!
Staff were delightful
I paid for a very expensive Superior Suite, so did not expect the carpet and seating to be completely dirty throughout, i.e. blood stains, orange drink, wine stains etc. The curtains around the four-poster bed were clean, but ripped.
Spectacular building, staircase magnificent. Very central location. Room very clean.
5th street bedroom has odd windows and the curtains do not fit. The late night street noise was constant until about 4am. Decor is rageddy and the carpet threadbare (but clean).
Character of hotel - beautiful entrance and staircase
Very noisy at night. Our room was looking over Portland street and we could hear shouting and loudysic until the early hours. Lifts were very slow
Location & Free Wi-Fi
No window in room, noisy old TV, beds seen better years
Helpfulness in changing room because of very noisy neighbours. Then quiet night on Thursday but very loud music on Friday.
Noisy guests in adjoining room.
The room was nothing like the picture. Needs to be decorated. Stains on the walls windows very dirty stains on furniture no if for bath
