Score from 1997 reviews Good
Proximity to Manchester Picadilly and trams etc.
Originally booked twin room but this was not available on arrival so upgraded to suite at same price. This room was tired, hairdryer and tv didn't seem to work. Upgrade appreciated but would have been very disappointed if we'd booked this room. Also had to use sofa bed as second bed which was uncomfortable.
Quiet room plenty of facilities
Room very hot unable to turn radiator off till repaired thermostat valve
Have stayed here many times, very central, rooms OK, well priced for central Manchester
Breakfast very poor this time - food had been sitting around a long time and some of the hot food was barely edible.
Interesting Building, Good locality
Check in at 1400 and check out at 11 which is not value for money. I would not come again/recommend for this. I was knocked and reminded of check out...when I was actually trying the reception to extend my stay. But I decided and stayed elsewhere.
The only good thing is the location
- perfect location in the city center (near the main sites to visit) - good accommodations in the bedroom - nice staff
- everything was fine for my stay in the hotel except for the fact that I was unlucky with the location of the room. I was on the 5th floor at the end of the hallway and the room above mine was really noisy at night. I don't know if it was another bedroom or some offices but It was a bit annoying.
Very Small room Street noise in the evening and unloading noises in the morning. The air conditioning from the bar was also outside my room. Very cramed and did not fee clean
We were located on the 6 the floor the lift only goes up 5 floors , the room was very dated , no window very little vntilation , wall light didnt work and was loose on the wall , decor was very tired , the toilet refushed to flush and the room door ratlled all night due to the slight breeze outside as did the skylight blind , if your going to offer these rooms then they need work to reflect the grand enterance and staircase , not servants quarters of a time gone by.
Was near to the Piccadilly garden and the shops.
Not sure...noisy during the day as expected for it's location.
A room withpou a wimdow had no airconditing,,, I had to leave on the bathroom light in order to get some air chage from the fan in there. I was offfered a large fan by the hotel but no airconditioning. The room was on the ground floor on the main rote to function rooms/night club: the noise of passing people continued until upto 0200
wubbly bed, dirty room full of spider webs, dirty carpet, 1970 tv, tired decor
Location on a very noisy road - inevitable though if you want to stay in central Manchester on a Friday night!
The ambience and the decor were lovely and oldy worldy. Excellent location for the central of manchester attractions.
I wouldn't pay rack rate for the rooms...totally over priced. The noice from the night clubs and drunken revellers till the early hours meant little sleep, even though we were on the 3 rd floor.
uncared for - unloved and a mess on every front. Must have been amazing once! Felt like staying in servants quarters on the 6th floor!
The foyer and entrance to the hotel is fabulous. The staff were all very pleasant & helpful. The location is perfect for the city centre.
The decor of the corridors leading off of the main staircase is shabby. The carpets in these areas and in our room definitely need renewing.
I booked for a special offer. After all, I was on business and only needed bed and shower. But it should be announced in big letters that this special offer was for a room without window. Which would even be acceptable, but the lack of ventilation/airco and the subsequent heat was not acceptable at all.
The entrance is great to look at. The main lobby, the giant stair case the chandelier. Plenty of staf available.
The main lobby is fantastic but it is no reflection to what the rooms are like. Wallpaper ripped, with bad patch up jobs. The room was old and dated and for what you are getting slightly over priced.
The staff were great, the bar area was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The location was ideal, right in the heart of the town and near the station, shops and restaurants.
The carpet in the room was thread bare and the decor needed updating.
very central to manchester city
appeared very out dated and could do with a face lift. The room was small with no air as window did not open fully every thing appeared old and weary the bath room paint was peeling off the door frame and there appeared to be a brown stain within the bath
location is good & close to everything that travellers need
the way the clean the rooms & mainly the bathroom is disgusting , the cleaners have no idea about the hygiene , they wipe the inside of the toilet with towels that we use for face & even with the pillow case , they don't use gloves after they finish the put the tea bags & milk on the table , when I told what are they doing ,they said their boss don't supply them with gloves or wipes . if have power I would close the hotel for its bad hygiene , what I have seen is worse & worse
The location is great and very convenient. The hotel lobby looks very grand.
My room was old and tired and didn't feel very clean. I've stayed in nicer rooms in a Travelodge. The pictures of the rooms on here I felt were very misleading.
No Fault found - excellent in all ways
Staff were ok
It was in need of a good overhaul
