The location of the hotel.
The room was very small, the shower was cold and water barely running.
Central atrium is very impressive and what led me to book this hotel. Unfortunately the actual bedrooms are nothing like as nice.
The bathroom had not been cleaned. There was a sticky yellow substance on the sink as well as various grey rings of dirt. None of the curtains in my corner room were large enough to actually cover the windows. This meant that there was street lighting coming in all night and daylight first thing in the morning. Other furniture stained and old.
room was for 2 people only one large bath towel, tiny pots of shampoo/body wash not enough for 2 people, chairs very worn, carpet stained and ceiling water marks and large crack in ceiling on the whole not impressed
We liked the location and comfort and the breakfast was also great. We had a really good time and would definitely stay again!
There wasn't really anything we didn't like about it, however, we feel your staff could have been a bit more helpful and friendly!
Excellent value for money with a good central location. We will definitely stay again.
The room was fine but the bed seemed rather small..
Location is fantastic. Staff were helpful.
Although we were a group of 6 sharing double rooms, not all the beds were the same size in each room.
Nothing about hotel
Everything about this hotel
We had never stopped at the britannia before but the experience was wonderful. We have already decided that on our next stay in Manchester will be a stay at the Britannia. The facilities were excellent. We ordered room service and found it value for money and the hot food was very hot
The disabled access could be better. I had to wait outside in the cold for more than 10 minutes. Being in a wheelchair means I can't move around to keep warm
Room was freezing cold on arrival Phone didn't work for any hotel services Room wasn't ready on time Rooms very dated Window leaked causing carpet to be wet Can hear loud music through the night from night club below which the old windows don't help.
I liked the interior and the sense of History/grandeur with the chandelier and staircase.
I didn't like the noise from Bar Rogue below (we were on the fifth floor). It meant a broken night's sleep.
Poor quality of rooms - in need of refurbishing
The location was excellent - right in the city centre
I booked 5 rooms: 4 standard and 1 executive, but all the rooms were exactly the same. Not really expected as I had paid extra for the executive room.
Location was excellent.
The room keys were hopeless, couldn't get into the rooms!
Location, close to train station and gay village
Decor a bit dated, no soap only shower gel wifi didnt connect very, very expensive for 3 star at £129 per night, there must have been something on as I have seen it advertised much cheaper
Poor WiFi, extremely loud alarm going off for approx 10 seconds waking me up at approx 20 past midnight
Grand entrance hall and staircase. In a good location for the city centre.
The first room we were shown was very small considering we had paid for an executive room. The second room was adequate but the nightclub below was loud into the early hours.
When we first walked into the hotel it was stunning.looks like the building has kept its original decor.staff are really nice and helpful.
Getting a room I didnt book.took two attempts to get into our room, when we went back to reception.we was told that room has been reported to have a fault on the lock.at this point we was upgraded to the room I originally booked.the paint was peeling, holes in carpet, sockets coming away from the wall, lamps what dont work, heating you cant turn down, bed was hard as nails.the list goes on.would never stay there again.
The staff are nice.
When I walked into the room, I can only smell the bleach. And the remote control of the TV and the lights of the room were not working at all!!! Besides there was hair on the pillow and there were insects in the room as well. Moreover, the fire alarm went off at midnight.
Room booked was an executive room but really don't think it could b called that! Carpet was dirty & threadbare, ceiling had had leak as was stained & coming away at 1 point, extractor fan didn't work, wardrobe door broke, radiator didn't work tho this was fixed when reported. When room was cleaned next day they did not make bed or leave all towels which we gave up waiting 4 after 11/2hrs of being told they would get them straight up to us
The room had no window or air conditioning which resulted in the room being uncomfortably hot
It was old and tired,,, I dont mind old fashioned buildings and decor,, but our hotel room was damaged in places, very dark and not enough light.. The carpets wer all messy and old in places x x very grand hotel but needs some TLC x x
Didn't like stains on floors and walls. Didn't like size of room or bed old television .value for money was not there
Bright spacious foyer area. Clean tidy warm rooms. Central location.
Gloomy Corridors to rooms and number plates on doors gave it an institutionalised feel.
Many large stains on threadbare carpet. Room was extremely tired and needed a refurb. Decided to go home so could have a good nights sleep.
good location. smart building.
the room was stuffy. with no windows you would expect good air conditioning. it didnt work. we had to get two fans. bed size was shockingly small. no one does bed that sizes even in small B&Bs.
