Location. WiFi. Weekday prices OK
2nd floor has strong smell of tobacco as did the room. Weekend prices are poor value. Standard of English spoken by staff could have been better. Rooms, resteraunt and lounge could do with freshening brightening up. Limited parking, and it is expensive.
Liked the location near Chalk Farm, Camden and Primrose Hill. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
There was no heating and we were told it was 'head office' policy not to turn this on yet (in October) so the room at night was noticeably cold. This was partly to do with the single glazed window which, in our case was broken and could not be closed.
There was not much to like about this hotel
The smell of stale urine coming from the toilets near our room. The smell of mould in our bathroom.
Staff at desk helpful when pushed
room was dirty and tired with feaces in the toilet. Hotel itself looked in dire need of investment
Location was good for what we were planning to see. Stored bags without charging extra.
Staff did their job but not especially friendly. Cleanliness was fair. Safety of locks on room doors felt questionable.
Close to The Roundhouse where we were going to see a gig at.
Room was freezing cold. There was a radiator in the room but was not working. The feed pipe to the radiator was stone cold so can only assume the hotel did not heve the central heating activated. The rubber bathmat was covered in mould. For an executive double room it was very poor.
dinner @breakfast was very good
room lighting was very poor carpets looked rather tired
First room offered the ceiling had collapsed in the bathroom..due to a flood above..but they found me another room quickly.. Lots of condensation in the rooms, and the road noise was intrusive... Beds not comfortable... Shower a bit grubby... Austere...
Location - walking distance from Chalk Farm (10 - 15 mins) ideal for London Zoo etc Price
Shabby, worn carpets, bathroom fittings etc Smoke smell due to guests smoking in rooms Could be cleaner - may have seemed dirtier due to worn out facilites
Room was set in the 70's, no heating and the hotel was cold, only one lift working and that was poor, the staff were extremely rude, charge you extra for paying by bank card or credit card - how are you mean't to pay? Cash! I wouldn't stay here again if you paid me!
wi fi and noise of the street
where it was.
having to walk through the canteen to get to my room,
Service They changed my room so it was next to a very noisy elevator. Had to change room again.
Location was excellent and the price was very reasonable
What totally destroyed the experience was the way staff demanded money the moment my elderly uncle arrived, despite my having specified that I was paying with my credit card with details supplied. After taking £100 in cash from them, (they were luckily carrying cash) they disturbed their afternoon rest and called their room and demanded the exchange of £50 notes , as theirs was too old. I got a panicked call from my old uncle.
The hotel staff were very helpful and attentive. I only ate breakfasts, but there was plenty of choice and everything seemed freshly cooked.
My only problem was the very busy road outside. Even with earplugs I could hear sirens and heavy vehicles.
We stay in hotels several nights per week and booked this one last minute. We checked in and were given a basement room with no windows. The receptionist was very reluctant to change this saying the hotel was full. We were eventually offered a double room. When we got to the room, my partner went to use the bathroom someone had already used it and not flushed it. We didn't complain as earlier experience with receptionist wasn't good. We showered and changed and went downstairs to the bar and after looking at the standard of the food decided not to dine. We went to the Washington two minutes walk away. When we arrived back to our room at around 10:30pm we heard what we thought was the shower dripping and found that this was actually water running through the ceiling. several phone calls to reception and explained the situation, didn't get us anywhere so called and insisted that the duty manager called back straight away. bearing in mind about 30 mins had passed. The manger called tha room and we explained again about the water running through the ceiling a after about 15 mins she came to our room saw the problem and gave us a key to another room. This turned out to be a smoking room with twin beds We don't smoke so went to reception and demanded a non smoking room. 10 minutes later we were given a non smoking twin room. Sleep was poor due to ill fitting windows and we heard what sounded like mice in the room. Not once did we receive an apology from any member of staff. The duty manager was rude and unhelpful
No parking, although it is advertised, and was booked in advance as advised. Room and furnishing were old and tired looking. I stayed in two other hotels which were far better, staff, parking and facilities wise, they cost less and were well located.
I've stayed here before a few times and previously was great. Location is good.
Noisy (woke from 5am to banging and crashing) A man let himself into my room at 7am with a key so I got frightened waking up to that as a woman on my own. Hardly safe. Bathroom had other people's hair all over it. I tried to complain and the staff laughed and didn't take me seriously. Emailed manager and no answer at all so if you get any problems don't expect any help-and I was a loyal customer. Advise people to think before they book if rooms aren't kept secure!
The fact it was in leafy upmarket hampstead close underground, ask for one of the very recently refurbished rooms. On site parking also available
nice view of city from hotel room
Location was excellent
The breakfast was definitely not fit for human consumption!! Staff very unhelpful and rude would not stay here again
Location is it's only good feature
Everything else - this place is totally worn out and terrible
The staff at breakfast were not very helpful. When I asked where things were such as milk, bread and butter for toast they pointed from 20' away. This did not pin point where the items were.
Location for The Roundhouse
Cleanliness and decor left a lot to be desired. Booked a double room but it was 2 singles pushed together with individual duvets.
