Good connection to downtown. Quiet and clean environment and a hotel. Delicious breakfast. Rooms No. 1-20 are no windows - it was unfortunately our case.

It was the cheapest around as I was only staying for one night. It looked as if each member of staff brought a piece of furniture in they didn't want anymore, nothing matched! Peach curtains, red carpet, blue walls etc. It looked like nothing had been kept in any draws or cupboards for years. The window was a single pane of safety glass, which may as well of been none existent. Could hear traffic passing all through the night. The mattress was just pure spring, lucky I had a double to myself, had to sleep on top of the quilt and fetch the other half over to cover me. Not what I was expecting of a 3* it did make me laugh tho.

Furniture in the room was old and scratched, tear in the sheet, the windows were filthy. no choice of menu for evening meal(we had to go out to eat)waited at the bar for service but then had to go to reception for service, general decor in room and hotel in need of redecoration, also it was very noisy with street traffic would not stay again. would not recommend your hotel.

Location.7-8 minute walk to chalk farm tube station.pub, cafes and tesco express beside hotel.nice, safe residential area. night manager (female) was very rude, uncouth and extremely unprofessional.we stayed 4 nights and had to change room three times.at the first room, the staff had to shoulder in the door because the lock was broken.the room we were changed to offered no privacy and was suffocatingly hot.the plughole in the ensuite was broken so my partner had to shave using a cup.only instant coffee available, even at breakfast.overall unexceptable even for a two star nevermind a three star.

The room was comfortable and clean, good facilities. On arrival nobody asked what I had arranged for breakfast or made sure I knew how to get it.(It was supposed to be inclusive). The over-loud under tens disco which I could hear from my room - and had to eat my dinner adjacent to in the dining room. It was awful. The room service menu was missing. I put a continental breakfast card outside my room but it was never delivered although included. I had no breakfast provided by the hotel although paid for. I commented on the disco when leaving.

Close to Northern Line Chalk Farm Great parking if lucky- which I was Good value breakfast Stinks- Grubby- Air less. Presumably the windows can only be opened a crack to prevent the inmates from jumping out- as with all hotels it seems. I had the urge to open the bedroom window fully to allow the stench out and some fresh air in. Buildings need to breath- this one doesn'T. Sticky - requires soft refurb before I stay again.

Well located near to Hampstead Heath, yet easy walk into central London. Excellent breakfast at a very good price. Staff friendly and helpful. Good sized room and comfortable beds. Needs double glazing. Pizza for breakfast is an odd idea.

The shower was very good. The room was cold & draughty. Curtains were woefully inadequate. The food was overcooked & tasteless. Parking provision is a total nightmare. No where near enough spaces & the space that there are are too small & getting car in & out requires careful manoeuvre to avoid damage to vehicle. Staff were rude & unhelpful with the exception of one member.

Although the hotel could do with some refurbishment, we found everything we needed in our room which was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff were always pleasant and helpful. For the price we certainly couldnt complain and will definitely stay here next time in London. Would benefit with some refurbishing and updating.

I found this hotel to be excellent value for money, the room was a bit tired but the beds were clean and comfortable. The staff throughout our stay were very attentative and the breakfast was very good. Im not a regular traveller to London but my brother who was in the party is and in his words this hotel was a great find and he will return soon. Other good points - good location only 5 min walk from the tube station and the local Indian restaurant just up the road was brilliant.

Friendly staff, free WiFi, nice food (available 24/7), car park (although only 15 spaces), walking distance to Chalk Farm tube station and Camden. The car park only has 15 spaces so you're lucky if there's a space when you arrive, however, you can park in the street where the car park entrance is over night and move your car into the car park the next morning if a space becomes available. Also, they charge £2 per hour for the privilege with a maximum of £10 per day.

I was put in a noisy room in the basement. The vent system combined with the constant loud banging from above until 3am, kept me awake. I had to be up at 06:30!

“It was very relaxed & friendly, well run, clean, warm & generally everything I wanted I received from my stay at Camden Lock. The location was also excellent & this was the initial reason I stayed here - But I would now stay at the Lock, even if I was visiting another part of London, as we enjoyed the experience so much. We were surprised at just how friendly the whole area was (local traders, retailers bar staff, reception). Coming from Scotland we are regularly told that London is an unwelcoming, socialy cold place - but Camden was the opposite, nearly everyone we encountered were extremely pleasant, friendly & helpful.” Steven, Edinburgh |
