Score from 1040 reviews Good
Cooked breakfast poor, sausages and bacon needs to be a better quality.
Size of rooms and prices
Holes in walls, mould in bathroom - very tired decor in desperate need of redecoration and deep clean
Old fashioned hotel. Back in time to the 70's. Decor poor, smell musty, hotel bar staff inept. Empty bar, given two orders and got them wrong! Breakfast ok though.
Location was good, clean, quiet, friendly staff
Poor wifi signal and mobile phone reception in bedrooms.
bath and bed
noise from next room
Overall good value
I always choose to stay here when on business in Coventry. As a lone female guest I always feel comfortable and the facilities are good. The room is always clean and comfortable and I wouldn't choose to stay anywhere else.
All good recommend. Enjoyed the Draught Guinness.
Exterior/ Large room and cleanliness./Oldy dining
Took a while to find it
Food very poor, overcooked and cleanliness very poor
Location, room was lovely
Mould in bathroom
Good size room, décor in rooms need a little updating but nothing too bad. Enjoyed my stay, thank you.
Enjoyed my stay, staff pleasant, room clean and comfortable would recommend
Regular hotel user. However on this occasion staff were leasant and helpful. Bedroom quiet comfortable and warm on a frosty night Meals were fair e h o gave them a score of three iut of five. Overall not a bad experience Would stay again
Buffet needed attention particulatly desserts. Breakfast not too bad
Loved the Jacuzi bath and loads of hot water.
Plug would not work............so had to leave water in the bath.
I have stayed here twice, the second time was much better due to a much nicer room with a superior bathroom. After staying the first time I wasn't going to stay again but I'm glad I did because it was so much better the second time round.
Dudn't like the bathroom the first time I stayed, second time was much better.
I went to visit this Hotel first as I'd had a bad experience in the hotel I was in before this. I was looking for somewhere I could use as a base on a reg basis. I was met by Maria at reception who was warm, friendly polite and very welcoming. She showed me a room which was lovely so I booked to stay for 2 nights. I booked a single room but on checking in I had been given a double executive room. A lovely warm well decorated room, comfy bed and pillows and nice bathroom with jacuzzi bath! I loved my stay, as a single woman I felt safe and looked after even down to room service, I called the restaurant and the lady that took my order (restaurant manageress?) was kind, helpful and very friendly as was the waiter who bought it promptly to my room, food was hot, fresh and tasty and the wine was chilled as it should be. I was assured by Maria that if I decided to eat in the restaurant (alone) that I'd be looked after and cared for and I feel sure I would have been too. I was almost sorry to leave! I had good nights sleep, room was quiet and good quality blackout curtains assured a nice dark room. I will def be back! Just wish if experienced a single room (even just to look at) because next visit I may not be so lucky with the upgrade
I went to the bar near reception on my way to my room one evening (7ish) it was empty, 3 staff were there to serve. I asked for a glass of wine but I was refused service as it was apparently a bar allocated for a function that night, which is fine, but looking windswept and ragged with arm full of bags perhaps one of the staff could have offered to go to the restaurant bar for me? Especially when I said to him that I couldn't manage to go there
Excellent location and value for money. A huge, clean and very warm room which was lovely to enter after a long drive. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Three course evening meal was good value
The self service full breakfast was very poor. The sausages were of poor quality the bacon had been standing far too long and was therefore hard and the eggs were similar. And so were the potatoes .
Breakfast was very disappointing
A non smoking room that stunk of smoke. I could smell smoke on my cloths the evening after. Staff were friendly but not very forward in making conversation. Welcoming at reception was week, and I had to ask lots of questions to get info I required. On corridor there was a dirty rubbish bag from housekeepers from previous day, still there the morning after. This is a big issue with fire regulations and health and safety. Very disappointed
Nice surroundings. Gym and pool, but costs extra
Room above restaurant and away from main rooms. Breakfast, meals and drinks expensive. Bathroom very poor - toilet roll holder off wall, shower leaked with puddles all over floor, floor lino peeled away, toiletries not replenished, bath plug not fitted, tiles dirty. Ceiling bulb and lampshade bulb not working and had not been replaced. Only 8 tv channels not freeview and no radio channels. Large stains on carpet.
Good room size and warm
Reception staff was un helpful or interested Quite off putting For first impression
