Good size room, décor in rooms need a little updating but nothing too bad. Enjoyed my stay, thank you.
Enjoyed my stay, staff pleasant, room clean and comfortable would recommend
Regular hotel user. However on this occasion staff were leasant and helpful. Bedroom quiet comfortable and warm on a frosty night Meals were fair e h o gave them a score of three iut of five. Overall not a bad experience Would stay again
Buffet needed attention particulatly desserts. Breakfast not too bad
Loved the Jacuzi bath and loads of hot water.
Plug would not work............so had to leave water in the bath.
I have stayed here twice, the second time was much better due to a much nicer room with a superior bathroom. After staying the first time I wasn't going to stay again but I'm glad I did because it was so much better the second time round.
Dudn't like the bathroom the first time I stayed, second time was much better.
I went to visit this Hotel first as I'd had a bad experience in the hotel I was in before this. I was looking for somewhere I could use as a base on a reg basis. I was met by Maria at reception who was warm, friendly polite and very welcoming. She showed me a room which was lovely so I booked to stay for 2 nights. I booked a single room but on checking in I had been given a double executive room. A lovely warm well decorated room, comfy bed and pillows and nice bathroom with jacuzzi bath! I loved my stay, as a single woman I felt safe and looked after even down to room service, I called the restaurant and the lady that took my order (restaurant manageress?) was kind, helpful and very friendly as was the waiter who bought it promptly to my room, food was hot, fresh and tasty and the wine was chilled as it should be. I was assured by Maria that if I decided to eat in the restaurant (alone) that I'd be looked after and cared for and I feel sure I would have been too. I was almost sorry to leave! I had good nights sleep, room was quiet and good quality blackout curtains assured a nice dark room. I will def be back! Just wish if experienced a single room (even just to look at) because next visit I may not be so lucky with the upgrade
I went to the bar near reception on my way to my room one evening (7ish) it was empty, 3 staff were there to serve. I asked for a glass of wine but I was refused service as it was apparently a bar allocated for a function that night, which is fine, but looking windswept and ragged with arm full of bags perhaps one of the staff could have offered to go to the restaurant bar for me? Especially when I said to him that I couldn't manage to go there
Excellent location and value for money. A huge, clean and very warm room which was lovely to enter after a long drive. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Three course evening meal was good value
The self service full breakfast was very poor. The sausages were of poor quality the bacon had been standing far too long and was therefore hard and the eggs were similar. And so were the potatoes .
Breakfast was very disappointing
A non smoking room that stunk of smoke. I could smell smoke on my cloths the evening after. Staff were friendly but not very forward in making conversation. Welcoming at reception was week, and I had to ask lots of questions to get info I required. On corridor there was a dirty rubbish bag from housekeepers from previous day, still there the morning after. This is a big issue with fire regulations and health and safety. Very disappointed
Nice surroundings. Gym and pool, but costs extra
Room above restaurant and away from main rooms. Breakfast, meals and drinks expensive. Bathroom very poor - toilet roll holder off wall, shower leaked with puddles all over floor, floor lino peeled away, toiletries not replenished, bath plug not fitted, tiles dirty. Ceiling bulb and lampshade bulb not working and had not been replaced. Only 8 tv channels not freeview and no radio channels. Large stains on carpet.
Good room size and warm
Reception staff was un helpful or interested Quite off putting For first impression
Quilt was too small and no heating on in room
Dirty shower head, and flooring in shower
location, size of room
very un-reliable new electronic door lock. very noisy as room close to reception area where a wedding reception was being held in an adjacent room, and the corridor was being used by children as a playground.
A great place to stay if you want to be looked after.
The food that is served is not acceptable for this level. However there are so many good restaurants within easy reach it really don't present a problem and the bar food is passable.
The hotel was beautiful on arrival, grand reception and foyer, decorated and inviting which felt very festive and warm. 24hr reception which is really convenient as I arrived quite late. My room was lovely with working jacuzzi in my bath, television and internet access in my room.
Walls between bedrooms were very thin, could hear next door using the bathroom and got woken up from the noisiness of someone showering very early. Internet and phone signal quite poor in bedroom. On the second day the door locks were changed from key to card which I was not informed off so when I went to enter my room after work I had to go back to reception and enquire. Had food in the bar one night which I felt slightly uncomfortable about doing but didn't want to pay and extra £4 to have them bring it to the room but the food wasn't great it tasted microwaved so pretty overpriced for what arrived. On my last night there was a wedding reception which was fairly noisy as the party guest were staying in the same section of the hotel and would run down the hallway, shout to each other, had a screaming child for quite some time banging on their room door and had one of the guests on the phone for almost 2 hours pacing outside my room talking very loudly which was very aggravating as I came down on business and need to be up very early and had to phone reception to get her moved. Didn't feel very important to staff or feel very informed on where anything was so the stay all in all was very disappointing as the hotel has such a beautiful setting and such good reviews so it's a shame I had such an unpleasant stay.
Wifi and shower
The meals were very poor
The hotel was ideal for our visit.
The only thing that was uncomfortable was the pillows which were very hard.
free wifi in the room overall quality of the room room heats up quickly
corridors lifts in need of repair bathroom, cracked tiles
Special dim-light in the bathroom for nocturnal visits Real ale on tap in the bar (okay, only one, but that's 1 more than many) Welcoming breakfast staff Good separation between wedding reception guests and business travellers. Beautiful old building
Understaffed reception and bar Pay up front but no VAT receipt until departure Petty things like no peanuts in the bar "because it discourages people from buying chips, try the vending machine" (it was empty)
I could get a room where I could have a cigarette - a giant plus. Ability to get to and from rooms on mobility scooter.
Reception more businesslike than welcoming. Wi-Fi restricted to reception area only. Swimming pool at extra cost and not available to children before 10am. Overheated rooms No dropped kerb from drop-off point to reception.
While in Coventry on business I always try to get a booking here. The staff on reception are always very helpful, polite and welcoming.
The Hotel is hidden away in Coventry. There is a listed building element to part and the main building with the accommodation. The value of the stay was excellent.Yes in places it looked dated. But it was clean, had hot water and leisure facilities.
There was nothing not to like. For the price my expectations were low but I was pleasantly surprised.
