Low cost, no hassle, good wifi
Just a bit old and tired. Fine for me needing a bed for a night but wouldn't want to go with partner/family
Tea and coffee facilities.free WiFi in reception, didn't work in rest of hotel.
The hotel needs a major uplift. Leaking floor in bathroom and no shower curtain was a health hazard.all staff were friendly except one young man in the bar.
Good value, bar area with bar food was good and suited us rather than a sit down meal. Good location not far from Ricoh arena.
Just needs updating, i imagine 20 years ago it was theplace to get married and have functions etc. just never been updated.
Driving away from the hotel.
The rooms were very dirty. Floor not hoovered from previous occupants. Hair in the bed ( curly) Lights and pictures never seen a duster. Kettle full of limescale. Breakfast was very poor the quality of food cheap.
Had Adnams Broadside on hand pull instead of the usual gassy keg beer.
Very tired and in need of a refurbishment. Bad red wine stain on the carpet in my room and down the wall.
Room in old part of hotel was obviously recently refreshed, bright and airy , good size bathroom just needed a shelf to put shaving gear on !
No lifts and no offer to assist with luggage, had to pay for use of pool, terrible breakfast they must try very hard to produce bacon as bad as they did ! stale coffee, just generally bad
receptionist sat on desk answering phone. Shaky lift, tired room, brown bath suite that has seen better days. front panel hanging off bath. marked walls.
Poor quality food
On arrival we were met with a queue of people waiting to check in, which was taking a long time because there were two sets of people complaining about the hotel already - standard of cleanliness, hygiene, safety (windows not shutting, locks not working) We hoped that they were just being over sensitive. However, I went to my room, which smelt disgusting (stale smoke) had ripped carpets, and was generally dirty. I requested a room swap, which although less grotty, still smelt terrible. We ordered room service, just some chips, they came with no cutlery and were soggy. We had a quick coffee in the morning and made our getaway.
No bath towel or bath mat and the light in bathroom did not work above the mirror. TV turned itself on in the middle of the night.
location - hany for my purpose
Over booked when I arrived - had to take a smoking room or stay elsewhere. Hotel needs a lot of updating, however I was only there night. Food good.
Very cheap stay.
Food was pretty poor. It was much akin to school dinners in the restaurant. I'd suggest eating in the bar with the bar menu!
General poor state of repair, tiles falling off in the bathroom, stair carpet coming away etc. Dining room feels like the canteen at Hogwarts.
Everything - while I was checking out there was another guest also complaining how the lady was spoke too, the lady was very upset. The manager wasn't available after waiting 20 minutes to speak to her and the reception desk just fobbed me off with a difference story every 5 minutes when I checked for an update! Don't use this hotel! Because you won'y enjoy your stay! - ps I nearly forgot to mention the black slime around the shower / bath, this has been present on both rooms after I changed rooms!
*people outside entrance smoking and drinking *dirty carpets everywhere... areas cleaned which looked awful... clean round areas all over carpets... really stood out and looked a mess *in bathroom our bath dirty especially round taps and plug area. *large crack on base of toilet *tiles missing all over lower parts of bathroom, *no skirting boards on bathroom *again carpet in room dirty...just certain areas cleaned *outdated room
we like the room bathroom bit out of date but all worked as it should
we think that as pet friendly there could be somewhere to sit and eat in doors with your pet it is not as though you would let the cook for you ha
Ease to get into Coventry .... No hassle at all ...
The decor is very old. The staff are rude upon arrival. Not the best place.
Great dog walking just across the road. Very dog friendly. Staff very helpful.
The food can be a bit hit and miss, especially for a vegetarian, but I don't imagine anyone will go hungry.
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and would do so again.
The bar area was a little sticky and damp with spilt drink. I have to say they were busy, as they had at least 2 or 3 coaches in so it was just probably a slight oversight at the time.
Brilliant to have a gym on-site (£4 extra, well worth it), comfortable bed, radiator could be adjusted easily, price was excellent
Had a look at the food in the restaurant offered for £9.50 for three courses. It's a carvery with poor-looking soup, stewed-looking carrots and nasty-looking gravy. Thought this kind of thing had been put out of its misery in the 1970s.
digital room key not working
You have to pay extra for the Gym and it is closed between 8pm and 7am. Breakfast was £7 if paid at reception but online it equated to £14!
TV way to small
Good leisure facilities Reasonably priced room
The evening meal options left a lot to be desired Tired decor No proper windows in room Paying additional charges for nearly everything Attitude of one of the bar staff
