We expected an old country pub, pleasantly surprised by facilities offered, enjoyed meals in the historic section of this large convention Hotel, Room comfortable and modern, Secluded off road on 11 acres, Happy to recommend

I liked the location within the countryside and it had a relaxing feel to it.The buffet breakfast was of good quality and there was a wide selection available .

I would hAve preferred there to be a bath as well as the shower that was a available.also would have preferred there not to be a charge to use the gym sauna and pool even though the amount was nominal.

Difficult to find. Sat nav took me to a nearby Old persons care home. Food at night was poor, I had a tasteless burger! Coffee at breakfast was awful, but there was a reasonable choice of food.

I loved it, I arrived late afternoon with sun shining and soon felt very relaxed and welcome. Everyone was friendly, so much so that I went down to the bar for a meal and I usually don't do that as a single female travellor. A very nice stay that I will definately repeat.

Rude staff in restaurant and customer services. The restaurant was extremely dirty... Plates and cutlery mainly. Dog hair on carpets in room. Asked staff at reception about evening meal... They didn't mention you can upgrade your room, so we paid £12-13 each instead of the room upgrade which was £9. Evening meal was shocking!! Timings for spindles leisure facility, spa room etc. some brochures say its open til 10pm.... They closed before 8.30. Kettle in the room was disgusting, still had previous visitors stagnant water in it.

No professionalism among all staff.Bar staff very poor,also staff in restaurant.Clenliness very poor in staircases in old building.Alarm was constant for 3 day's after power cut after I reported it..etc.To much to mention was wrong.

Have stayed here before and never fail to enjoy the place.

No electric on arrival,no lifts for the whole weekend and was on the top floor,my wife is recovering from foot operation didn't help,spa times in room different from spa opening times,being told its room only,after booking bed and breakfast,being woken by your survey email at 6-30,and then on Sunday again woken at 7 by van delivering fresh bedding ,no clock in the room,no toiletries in the bathroom,room not made up

It was close to the motorway so leaving was easy.

- The price on the website vastly misrepresented the hotel. It said the hotel was being discounted from £157 - even when it was new, this hotel couldn't have charged that amount. And it's a long way from new now. - The lad behind the bar was miserable. - The room was shabby and not well looked after. - The food was cheap but really bad, to the point that the breakfast, which I suspect was undercooked, had me throwing up for about an hour the next day. - Overall I felt like I'd been scammed. If both booking.com and the hotel itself didn't make out on their websites that it was something it's not, then I would probably have stayed there anyway because of the price, and got what I expected. Instead I went there expecting a heavily discounted stay in a nice hotel and turned up at an absolute dump.

The hotel room was very spacious and the hotel grounds were beautiful. Great price for superb location, would definitely stay again!

I gain a rash from the first rooms bedding that we went to then the second room we got put into wad covered in dirt i had to complain and also members of staff was rude and inperlite to my partner while she was having picture taken...

Gym and pool extra, The rooms were large, buffet breakfast was good

The place overall was dated and didn't find the staff overly helpful. They lost out on a party of six for evening meal because we were told we needed to go back to the dining room and make the reservation ourselves!

The beds were clean, good parking. It was a cheap stop-over on a long journey.

A rather run down old manor house. Limited food choice when we arrived (late evening) Smelled damp, and the room was tatty. Looked much nicer on the website, but you get what you pay for!

The location - we were at a concert at the Ricoh arena & the hotel was less than 2 miles from the stadium so easily walkable after the event

Where to start! Initial impressions were poor - lots of dead space & no real indication of where to go to check in. The receptionist who checked us in was sullen & unfriendly and was also speaking to another gentleman whilst dealing with us. The room was dated & tired looking, but to be fair it was clean. The mattress on the bed was so old that you could feel the springs coming through. When we went down for breakfast the next morning, there was no-one there to greet us so we waited, and waited, and waited... After a few minutes I went into the breakfast room to find a member of staff to let her know that myself & my husband, as well as another couple who'd just arrived, were waiting to be seated for breakfast. I was told in no uncertain terms that they were busy & couldn't I see there were no tables available? Not wanting to cause a scene in front of all the other patrons, I politely asked her to let us know when a table was available. Ten minutes later we got seated, with no apology for keeping us waiting. The table cloth was dirty, & there were no mugs or cutlery. When I asked for some (& finding a member of staff wasn't easy!) I was told 'it's all on your table'. I explained that there was none on our table & the waitress sighed loudly & stomped off to get us some, which she then slammed down on the table in front of us! The breakfast was a buffet style & apart from the bacon, very uninviting! We managed some bacon butties then packed & left!

Extra charges for the swimming pool. First time I have ever been asked to pay an extra charge for a hotel swimming pool, especially as it is used in the Hotel advert. Decor dated and tired in the rooms could do with major overhaul.
