The breakfast was good value for money
The booking in process was okay but the staff charisma was second to none. The hotel itself was worn and needed refurbishment. The bedroom was clean but no hot water in sink. The hotel in its time would have been fine but it just looks run down..
That the TVs went off and didn't work for 2 nights when you have been to work all day this is not what you need
It's good for the value, it's close to city and Warwick university. It was quiet.
I was supposed to get Wifi in my room, but it was only available in the lobby, not very convenient when you need to do some work. There was no hot water out of the tap in the bathroom. I told the reception about it but nobody showed up to check it or solve the problem
Good value for money, nice breakfast.
Decor needs updating, but that's a minor issue.
No tv for 2 nights - kettle didn't work - bed very uncomfortable - shower was poor
Excellent value for money, lovely breakfast, plenty of choice. If you are only staying for one or two nights then this hotel is fine.
Wallpaper was coming off the wall and furniture was very dated.
Over the past 4 years have used this hotel one night per week whilst on business in Coventry. It's time I left a review; excellent location, comfy rooms perfectly adequate for single night stays, staff at reception very polite and efficient, booking on line you can get an excellent deal, fantastic views from the upper floors. For anyoneone wanting 'cheap and cheerful' you won't find better in the Coventry area.
Why charge £2 surplus for debit card payments? Not really a problem but occasionally there can be delays at check-in especially if co-inciding with a coach arrival.
the 23 adults in our party arrived, cold, tired and hungry, after a seven hour drive. We were going to a funeral the next morning. As we were waiting to check in a brawl broke out in the bar behind us with much shouting and offensive language. We were asked to pay upfront which was fine if unusual. We went to rooms which were extremely cold, with a tepid radiator on despite the snow falling outside. As we had missed dinner by 5 minutes we ordered bar food. My son and niece ordered the cheeseburgers and chips and I had scampi and chips. I ate a very little of it and would have eaten even less had I not been ravenous. The other two couldn't finish theirs either due to the quality of the food. I asked for some ice cream afterwards as I thought it might fill me up and didn't think they could do much to this. I was given two rough 'dollops' of ice cream which had a coating of ice on it. Couldn't finish that either. All three of us, in 2 separate rooms, had little sleep due to the cold, cold rooms and paper thin duvets. I wore my nightdress, dressing gown and socks and still was too cold to sleep long. when I did drift off the dripping shower through the wall would also cause me to waken. The cold water tap in the bath did not work at all. I intended having a bath but couldn't because of this. I had to turn on the shower, step under it until it became too hot, turn it off until it cooled slightly then repeat the process numerous times until I felt refreshed enough. The breakfast, which was an extra £10 if paid in advance, was very poor- only one choice of fruit in the bowl, which was dried out, the muesli was very poor quality and, according to the two others, the cooked breakfast left a lot to be desired. When we spoke to some local people at the funeral, they said, 'Oh, no! I wish you'd asked before you booked; we'd NEVER recommend that hotel to anyone!
Nice comfy beds and rooms very spacious
Tv wasn't working and water not very hot
the hotel was clean the staff where pleasant and helpful exclant food at a reasonable price ideal location to explore the midlands
tv limited stations
breakfast was good, even for vegetarians like myself. staff friendly and helpful.
long wait for hot water to reach the taps. Hw system needs secondry pumped circuit. Hotel looks dated, needs a revamp. However,it is a good hotel and staff are ok.
The Staff were obliging when we asked for a refund.
Too many things to mention, but the main problem was that we didn't actually feel safe staying here, neither did we feel comfortable leaving the car in the car park. Would not recommend to anyone, even if it was free. The only redeeming thing about this experience was that the receptionist was understanding and issued us with a refund on request.
Its a pleasant enough place to stay staff are friendly
Lifts could do with a good clean and rooms a little jaded
value for money in term of room size, facilities and quality of breakfast and parking space.
Staff are not friendly and helpful. Hotel in overall is dated.
if your a smoker you can smoke in the rooms on one floor, my friend was over the moon, restaurant was good and a bar there,
bit cold late at night
bathroom scales in the room - a first! check-in staff friendly and efficient
Having to rely on trouser press and hairdryer to keep warm - heating was not active at all in my 4 night stay in December, even after I asked for it to be looked at, on day 2 No VAT receipt until check-out despite being required to pay upfront
The location is ideal for exploring the midlands-staff very friendly and helpful-food excellent -plenty of car-parking space-we would definitely go back again
a minor thing- prefer ordinary shower and not a power shower
Cheap and cheerful if you get a deal through websites
Fat moody receptionist bad attitude no smile no hospitality ... Must have missed her mcdonalds
I booked this hotel as we were flying out from Birmingham Airport after being at a wedding in Northampton and you could leave your car free of charge and get airport transfer. The room was comfortable enough as we only stayed the one night.
Warning I booked with Booking.com and they advertised airport transfer of £6each return on arriving at the hotel they would not honour this as they said you need to book stay and fly and wanted to charge us £25 each way for a taxi. Lucky on my booking I stated I needed airport transfer and the manager agreed to honour this but if the manager was not in I don't think I would have got it.
Hotel is a bit run down and could do with a re-fit
Location very close to where we were visiting. Friendly helpful staff
Sofa in room looked very tired and needed to put the pillows on it to make it comfortable
Price Location & parking Staff
Thin duvet A little tired around the edges
Mick Hucknall on reception Hotel clean. Nice staff.
Windows were dirty and only opened up no wider than a granny's clenched fist. Tv was a little outdated which made Tulisa on the X Factor look dead. Lights were too orange which made me think I had liver failure. But overall it was a most pleasant of stays.
Quiet and peaceful
My room did not have a shower
Shower wasn't working, the heating made al sorts of noices during the night, the toilet flush was running all night, and there is no intension whatsoever of the manager and other employees to help the guests in any way.
