Location was perfect
Very out dated room. I stripped the bed after my stay, which i often do in hotels, and found really dark stains on the duvet. I know it hasnt touched me but yuk!!
Excellant accomodation at short notice with no hassell.
Dirty Noisy Hot Awful hotel, would not recommend at all, ever
Location room Good tea and coffee facilities
Bath a bit small Bed not so comfy but may be my individual taste
Room reasonable for the cost
The "three course buffet" in the restaurant was a disgrace. To offer guests this is insulting to say the least. Food looked as though it had been cooked a few days previous and warmed up on a number of occasions. The menu consists of thin fish cakes, chicken nuggets (I presume) and very over cooked and dried up chicken legs. The veg were new potatoes, carrots and sprouts - again dried up and disgusting. This cost £9.95 and the money was requested up front (and incidentally was refunded). Message to any future guests, DO NOT EAT IN THE RESTAURANT until you are assured the food is up to a satisfactory standard.
excellent breakfast, change of towels for next day.
shower going hot then cold
Too noisy Small room Pool etc was closed Didn't like the room
very good breakfast buffet
staff were barely polite. No wi fi in rooms and could not log in at all in lobby
Really well located for getting into town and to Manchester, by bus train or drive. Comfy room with full length bath, all that we needed for a reasonable price.
I liked it. If you want somewhere chic, local and modern then you pay for it, this was excellent value for our needs.
The room was dirty, the carpet, the curtains, the bathroom. would not stay there again
The room smelt very bad could not open the windows and had to have a desk fan on all night because it was so hot even with no heating on.stains all over the carpets.Breakfast was just a dried up buffet that was below any standard..The best thing about this hotel was leaving it feeling dirty because it was so unclean
Breakfast . Good quality Ham .
Bed was very hard !
Top stair was deep and caused an accident, catching foot on it and falling over. Not a good end to the day!
The hotel has clearly not been updated in any way for decades, the walls were stained with what looked like sick, the mattress felt like brick, the walls were so thin and the floors so creaky that as soon as a single person awoke and got up it was impossible to sleep. The staff were fairly unfriendly and the communal areas were constantly filled with what looked like refugees simply lounging around; an utterly disgusting experience!
Very clean bedding, nice hot water
Free parking Smoking rooms Strong shower
The room given a bit small Although there was a wifi connection however the signal very weak unable to connect our devices even in the reception / loopy
Clean & functional rooms for the price
It took a long time to check in.
nice friendly service. room was sufficient for what needed for. would stay again.
Everything was bad
Old TV with very few channels and poor visual and sound. No wifi in room
We love historic buildings and the location was good for us as well
The hotel receptionist got our booking wrong. We were showed three separate rooms that did not match the description of the room we booked. In the end we settled for a twin double even though we booked for an executive double. My wife did not sleep. She is an experienced traveller so she felt that we deserved better from the staff. We booked online, saw pics of the room, bed etc so assumed everything will be ok. It is disappointing to say the least and guess what the hotel overcharged us for the room we never got!!! We demanded for a refund as per my booking conformation. To be honest we were concerned about some of the negetive comments from the reviews before we booked but now we can understand why Britania Hotel Stockport could only manage 5.9 out of 10. We are really disappointed with service especially the reception we got on the day of our arrival. The gentleman wasn't helpful at all so because of that we've decided never to stay at any of the Britania hotels.
Friendly staff and very flexible for reservations' amendments Ideal prices Quite Easy access to public transport
the clientelle lounging around in the foyer made it feel like a foreign airport and the food was one of the worst meals i've ever had to pay for
