Score from 241 reviews Good
Everything was bad
Old TV with very few channels and poor visual and sound. No wifi in room
We love historic buildings and the location was good for us as well
The hotel receptionist got our booking wrong. We were showed three separate rooms that did not match the description of the room we booked. In the end we settled for a twin double even though we booked for an executive double. My wife did not sleep. She is an experienced traveller so she felt that we deserved better from the staff. We booked online, saw pics of the room, bed etc so assumed everything will be ok. It is disappointing to say the least and guess what the hotel overcharged us for the room we never got!!! We demanded for a refund as per my booking conformation. To be honest we were concerned about some of the negetive comments from the reviews before we booked but now we can understand why Britania Hotel Stockport could only manage 5.9 out of 10. We are really disappointed with service especially the reception we got on the day of our arrival. The gentleman wasn't helpful at all so because of that we've decided never to stay at any of the Britania hotels.
Friendly staff and very flexible for reservations' amendments Ideal prices Quite Easy access to public transport
the clientelle lounging around in the foyer made it feel like a foreign airport and the food was one of the worst meals i've ever had to pay for
Room ok in quiet corner of hotel.
Bar closed too early. Was put off by the groups of what we presume were immigrants being put up in rooms and who were then hanging around in reception.
nice hotel, value for money
no breakfast included
Hotel very dated and dull. Bed was clean but overall room was not. My room was next to very old fashioned pull door lift, noises all night. No information about hotel in room i.e. breakfast times etc. No remote for tv , sound button broken so tv on very loud. I would not stay here again.
Easy check in
Swimming pool very small. TV in the room must of been off the Arc!! Very old with VCR built in.
Helpfulness of the staff, especially the day staff. Convenience of location to the place i was working the following day
I thought the breakfast was pricey for the standard. The hotel need a major facelift to update it. Dishes ,and food left outside the room had not been cleared away from previous guest in the room i used.
The room was tiny you cant open the windows at all so the room felt like an oven. It seemed to be quite rough outside gangs of people seem to hover around outside. The hotel receptionist was really unfriendly on checking in very abrupt not even a smile. In fairness on checking out the next day the receptionist then was a lot better.
Sorry not much! Dining area light and airy Leisure gym Reception staff friendly Large car park
Where to begin Staff mostly unreceptive didn't engage . Smoke/drug smells in corridors. Some rooms dirty and under furnished.
Staff was very rude made its wait for a room that was booked in advance. Didn't provide bathroom tissues!!!. Floors are old wood cranky couldn't sleep all night due to noises from room upstairs.
Bed comfy & buffet breakfast excellent with friendly staff.
Difficult to find from Manchester Airport, especially late at night trying to read street names that weren't there.
Staff no approachable, welcoming or polite. The hotel is being used to house immigrants who are loud and up n down the hall ways all the way trough the night. Overall not impressed at all its the only hotel me n my partner can stay in n it needs looking into
Excellent buffet breakfasCheap rates
Nothing really. Got what I expected for £35 a night
only showered and slept there not a place i really wanted spend anytime.
in need of a make over.also the reception was full of people hanging about no space.
Outstanding stay at this hotel again. Convenient for what i wanted. Plus really comfortable room and bed. Plus wifi thrown in as well. Paid very little for the room and got quality service. Never a problem will always book here.
Warm, good breakfast, near where we needed to be, had all we needed at the time. Good value for money.
Decor and furnishings rather tired, slight smell of old smoke. Room small and basic. OK for a night or two but would not recommend for longer stay.
Dirty room old outdated tv and noisy at night in corridors
The room was tidy and warm, all you can ask for a rainy night in Stockport.
Price and location
Fittings very worn. But at the price acceptable
