Cheap and comfortable!
My allocated room. this room isn't even close to a standard basic room . The other room I was offered was just fresh painted and therefore smell of it . I thought to spend 2 night there but likely I did one night only .
Staff were excellent
Dirty rooms lack of wifi in rooms TV not tuned to basic 5 channels remote batteries not working. Lift out of action usually as no one read the small notice on how it worked
Parking good.Easy check in.Wi-Fi okay.
poor shower units+bath facility. Gym could be opened longer hours.
The Hotel is not very far from the town centre by car bus or taxi but too far to walk, it is also close to the motorway, for access to all points of the compass, room was nice and clean, on the ground floor but far enough away from the bar so not to be disturbed, plenty of car parking. Full selection of freeview channels on the TV, that said for the price I paid the room was punching above its weight I have paid much more for worse, note there is a health club on site but did not use it.
a large area of the car park was under water, but was only a relatively small, walls and floor very thin, be prepared for this. The room did have a new nearly new flat screen tv was let down by the fact that it was too small and the remote control was missing., could not get connected to wifi using the details provided in the room at all, they did not match the available signals and did not have the password for the one which was available by which time I was too tired to go to reception as there was no phone in the room.
Staff helpful and breakfast choice was good
Dirty, very poorly maintained, smoke smell in room, laundry left on public landing overnight
the receptionist was lovely.
dirty shower curtain. great stay until I realised the questionable mark on shower was faeces . I realised this whilst cleaning it
Staff were ok
Paid £59 for what looked like a run down seaside B&B (probably doing them an injustice) I would at least expect a Britannia Hotel to be clean and of Smart appearance with up to date décor. Sadly this was not the case
The staff the one's I seen where helpful the cleaning staff where busy and friendly enjoyed my stay
The only thing was the food in the buffet area was messy that's it other than that
Great hotel for cost unfortunately no wifi in the rooms just the lobby
Stayed in a smoking room did not like the smell but overall a good stay
X rated page from a magazine behind bedside cabinet
Get what you pay for
Bed was not comfortable and arrived just after dinner service finished.
The bed was comfy
The smell of the room wasn't nice
I like the room as it was me and my boyfriend, wasn't too much and was just right
The staff were a bit not welcoming to us, maybe coz we're young but didn't feel that welcome
The team working at the hotel were helpful and worked hard
The hotel is so out of date and tired it needs a complete refit
Not a lot
Booked executive room not impressed looked like a bad double moved to standard double which was a little better.photo of lounge on website nothing like the real thing, must be photos of another hotel and lots of people hanging around looked like a job centre will not be going back and advise people to steer clear of this hotel
To be honest it was really poor and it would take some doing to get me to use you again
No happy first tried give me a standard room when I paid for a executive room I had to move rooms 3 times and all in all not very good at all very disappointed
Smell in room. Dirty sheets in corridors in piles on the floor. Lots of people just 'hanging around in corridors' have found out since that they were asylum seekers, felt intimidating at the time.
Handing back the key
The pictures make the hotel look modern. But it's not like the hotel I stayed at. It's filthy there is mould on ceilings. Bathroom filthy. We complained about room as was disgusting and then we had to look at 3 other rooms to get a half decent one.as others were not cleaned. Shower head hanging off wall etc. Usually I would not be petty the staff are rude also. Stay away I would rather sleep in a kennel
I asked for a quiet room and got a noisy one there was toe nail clippings on the floor both wardrobe doors hanging of wallpaper hanging off the head board was in two halls and fallen on the floor then they moved 6 lads into the room next door who had a party until 7:30 am and they were vomiting out of the hotel window all night I had to book out 2 days early and told they could not authorise a refund plus all the immigrants kids that live there use the corridors as a play ground until late
The staff were very helpful.
The "How to claim asylum" booklets everywhere, the conversations in the lobby about when their money was coming through, the constant stream of social assistance workers helping with form filling. The fact that many residents (Asylum Seekers) were sitting in the lobby drying their swim kit after using the health club over the radiators. And finally, that I was one of the very few people there who paid for my room and it just happened to be the worse room in the building.Reception described it as the furthest smallest room from the main hotel. I believe it was room 383. I paid, most others plainly did not. There was even the smell of cooking from many rooms and some corridors were made do playgrounds for children. I will not be staying in this hotel again and will recommend on every blog I can find to advise others not too. Hotels like this are necessary, and people entering the country need somewhere to stay, but a hotel with a health spa and carvery each evening with paying business travellers earning a living is not the place.
A nice all round place to stay
Spa, lots of free parking, value for money
Corridors stink of smoke, smoke detector in room had bag over it, certain half the guests were smoking in their rooms.
