This former 19th-century schoolhouse has been converted into a comfortable hotel with a friendly atmosphere. Himley Hotel is located on the Shropshire border, on the edge of Dudley.

The lack of Wifi in the bedroom
It was central.
Breakfast was awful. Room was very poor No parking..
easy check in good value room good position for city centre
needs better value breakfast
Smelt of smoke a bit to be honest
The hotel was what you would expect. Not lacking in any basic amenities. Comfortable. Good friendly staff overall.
The hotel needs updating but I don't mean modernising. Its a very old hotel with lovely character but just not well kept. Staying in a hotel is meant to be a luxury..a treat..we felt we had to keep telling ourselves..its just a place to sleep.
Location, comfortable bed, good shower
TV didn't work - unhelpful staff
Fantastic position for the station and parking looking a bit jaded now and could do with a refurb but overall a nice hotel the bar is a bit cold and bare could do with a new image
We were opposite the prince albert night club and the music was loud and thumping and when I went down to complain I was told that there was nothing to be done about it until 2 am there didn.t seem to be many people in the hotel so why use that room at the weekend
THE CAR PARKING SITUATION
The only positive about this hotel was its location to the nearly Civic Hall, unfortunately this is where the good points start and end.
Poor staff, uncomfortable bed, worse cleanliness and suspect stains within the room along with a mouldy bathroom, not to mention a sealed up window - which already had a catch missing
It was inexpensive and conveniently located.
They mixed up room bookings. Th first room smelt strongly of tobacco smoke, despite being described. I objected and got a smoke free but small room. Staff were friendly but a bit overwhelmed.
The staff are welcoming
The noise, the other occupants made a lot of noise while coming back from clubbing, I felt like I was in a university hall.
Noise from dodgy old windows
Location, near railway station, wetherspoons, concert venue, good breakfast, no contentental, but fried bread!
Old,tired, worn hotel, damp smells
Nice room, good layout very central to everything in town easy to find. Staff attentive and friendly on reception
Smokers room which reeked of stale tabacco, I am a non smoker will ask next time for non smoker room. No car parking and its not cheap. Best to get there by rail
Staff and location
The excessive noise from the club across the road would be a major turn off for for us and many others we spoke to at breakfast. Also the place is a bit dated and could do with a spruce up. The entrance foyer wasn't very impressive, sad really. Stop the boom boom music, have a tidy up and we will be back again.
The location is the overwhelming factor for me as I am dependant upon public transport. Also being registered blind I am very sensitive to the ambient environments such as lighting, signage and access. All these were fine with good lighting in all areas.
The heating died on me in the dead of winter, although the water/shower was scalding. Strange it's a good job I have plenty of cavity wall insulation and don't feel the cold too bad.
noisy Tannoy system from bus station, cold bathroom, very basic should be a hostel not a Hotel.Bed hard
I thought the hotel did not live up to all the reviews I read. The staff were helpful, room pleasant, the breakfast was outstanding. For the price charged it was worth it.
Person taking video of child at breakfast time while trying to get my food !!
It took me over half an hour to check in and there were only two people in front of me. The duty manager ignored the growing queue of customers in order to catch up with her paperwork. The rooms were rough looking with their shabby 1970's décor. One of the windows had a broken latch so it wouldn't close leaving the room unsecure as there was a fire escape directly outside. The musty bathroom did have a nice hot shower, but the smell ruined the brief moment of enjoyment of the hotel. Accompanied by the homeless people in the reception waiting area and the rude front desk staff that can barely hold a conversation of any sort or even make eye contact, it's safe to say that this was a one-off visit from me to this establishment as the train station looked more inviting for an overnight stay for the next time.
The room was so cold and I don't think you get much for your Money
nice room (have stayed there before.. there are so unfortunate rooms too) good location value for money
-we were unlucky to have a day without hot water for shower. -the room service was bad: left the rubbish on top of our luggage, didnt wash the tea mugs (rinsed with water, didnt even touch the little dishes), forgot to replace the towels (only took them and left us without any) -no announcement for the restaurant serving hours. arrived at 20:20 and told us we closed at 20:30 (how should we know? and what about those 10 minutes left?)
Location, Past Era Elegance, Bar, Dining Room
Slow booking in, took 40 minutes, had to change room as double bed was against a wall and had to climb over, whilst hitting head on tv, mouldy, damp, grotty bathroom
The night staff where very pleasant, proximity to train, excellent
Room dirty & damp, tv didn't work properly, had to ask for heating to be turned on. Very little communication while checking in & out. Nothing redeeming about our stay
Took over an hour to check in as young lad on the desk didnt have a clue what he was doing.
I liked the price and the location
Out by 11am instead of midday Toilet paper not replaced and hair of previous user in shower
