Wifi could be in the accommodation
Staff are helpful and friendly. Very convenient to Grand Theatre. Room small but clean. Would stay again if I need to be in the the city.
Some of the other guests. Think this is used by social services. However, we did not experience any problems. It did not put me off the hotel.
Cheap & cheerful
Near train station
location suited me.
The cleanliness was horrific. The shower didn't work correctly. No food available. Fire alarm went off with no explanation. Noise from the road way too much. Bed uncomfortable. Room was freezing despite having a blanket and my own towel on me.
Friendly staff and close to Civic Center
Rooms are in need of renovation
The location and proximity to town centre
Everything. The smallest double bed I've ever seen. The most outdated box TV withot remote control and no free to air channels. Door locks are so old they don't always work, I was trapped in my room for 40mins. Was freed by a man with crowbar who came into my room through the window. Hardly any positives to find.
Big bathroom, comfy enough bed. Great location. Just the job.
No food allowed in, but understandable.
I arrived and had no room due to being overbooked. The staff slowly founde a room.
Good breakfast with very friendly staff
I arrived late on a Friday night and there were a few people hanging around in reception who were drinking and very noisy. It looked a little on the rough side and could be a little intimidating for a woman on her own. The night time receptionist seemed a little miserable but the morning staff were very friendly. My room was very basic with very old TV and there was no WiFi in the room, only downstairs in reception.
Rooms are tired and dated
Only the location
The room The bathroom The heater was not even working T.V of ancient time without remote control
The poor electrical connection and small size of TV
Good location for us
Dirty, hard bed, when people in the room above walked about the floors sqeet so loud it would wake us, as did the maids talking loudly outside bedroom door! I could go on!!
Location is brilliant for the civic
Hotel has aged badly over the years with no investment.
The shower in the room was fair, the bathroom was also fair, the room was a bit dreary and the television on the small side and the picture had lines across it. the TV remote did not change over the channels, sorry i didnt like much
being woken up at 0700 by what i thought was dripping water was not good, it was actually another guest urinating up the door to our room, it was coming in the room spreading through the carpet, the staff and manageress came up but they had no cleaning stuff, the concierge made a feeble attempt at mopping it and left us with a multi surface cleaner, alot of good that was. she said she could not get the cleaner out as it would wake the other guests up. we did not go till 1100 and no sign of any attempt to rectify it, i had to tell the cleaning maid on my way out. poor management and dodgy guests. expected for the price and make up of the hotel i suppose,
We asked for a smoking room but didn't get a smoking room and the couple who were in front of us in the queue got asked if they wanted a smoking room even though they did not request it and got the last one I had phoned up earlier to ask if smoking rooms were available and was told yes but when we got there we were told no smoking rooms are available found the room to b a bit dusty
Please see above.
Excellent customer service, rooms a bit dated but good value for the money, good breakfast choice included in the price
The room was tidy enough, the staff were very very friendly even though they lacked the ability to get an ashtray
Not a proper kettle un the room, no bubble bath. The beds are too hard but sleepable
The beds were extremely comfortable
The TVs didn't have much choice and also the milk in the room wasn't very good as it curdled very quickly
TV and internet (no existent in the bedroom)
Very central to train station
The hotel was over-run, the facilities were appalling. I didn't want to step into the bath. Stains on carpet. Uncomfortable bed. Bed sheets smelt. I didn't sleep a wink. Would never return.
Getting rained on at 3:30 in the morning by the cieling.
The Staff, especially the lady on the bar Sat 31st Jan night.
The Club over the road playing loud music all night. The windows where literally shaking!!! Restaurant food was also very poor, not only us but elderly couple return uncooked freezing food.
Good size, clean room
