The location was well situated to local amenities. When we arrived at the hotel there was a mix up with our booking. The hotel had overbooked. We were told that we needed to wait for a room to be prepared, even though we came 1h30mins after check in started. After waiting in the lobby for 3 hours we were finally told that our room was prepared. The staffs' attitude was very rude, they didn't even have the decency to apologize for the mix up. When we got to our room we discovered that we had been downgraded, to what seemed like a single room with a double bed (you wouldn't even be able to swing a cat in there, it was so cramped). Later that night me and my partner were horrified to discover a used condom bundled up in the shower. There were stains and a big cigarette burn on the curtains (even though the room wasn't a smoking room). We could carry on moaning about our disappointing visit to this hotel, but there is far too much to write!

The price! For an overnight stay for my partner and I, I thought the price was excellent! The first problem we encountered was the no parking facitlity you have, this wasnt ideal as we had driven from scotland and then before booking in had to find a car park to put the car in overnight - which then took away from the initial cheap deal we had for the night! Secondly the staff could have been more welcoming - it was very business like. Poor. Thirdly the room stunk of smoke- we asked for a non smoking room. Fourthly - the key to get into the room was a nightmare and at one point I had to go back downstairs and ask for another key as this didnt work!!! If i had a young family with me I wouldnt stay in the hotel - drunken idiots passing our room and falling over at 4 in the morning wasnt very pleasant.

I arrived at 7.45pm from a long train journey and on arrival was sold a dinner package by the receptionist with no briefing that dinner finished at 8.30pm. I arrived for dinner (last Tuesday night 7/2) and it was 8.40 so was closed, The senior waitress was embarrased and worked to sort me out and said she could - she di and provided a meal but I wish I had ate elsewhere. It was two different potato types, some turkey, poor gravy and some old carrots and I did wish I had ate else. I do not stay for breakfast and will not use this hotel again.

Maybe it was because there were few people in and they gave me the best room, but for 25 quid I got a suite with a living room, queen size bed with spectacular headboard, huge room, en suite bathroom, all immaculate. Looks like the hotel has recently been done up. Had a look at the other rooms in the morning and they were smaller, but I wouldn't have complained. Top deal!

Some of the staff was rude especially a young girl called Claire. We had no hot water from our shower for the duration of our stay, which was the whole wekend. We had people spoken to various members of staff about it and noting was done. Claiming that as we had a do not disturb sign on the door, they couldnt do anything. We had also complained about it being cold in the room and it took them over four hours to bring extra duvets for us! I would not reccommend this hotel to anyone!!

Great price good standard of room, clean, warm and good shower. Also staff very pleasant. Just a minor points - Only one chair in the room and I personally found the bed a little too high, we had asked for a twin but got a double but you can't grumble at the price.

The waiter in the breakfast room cannot have washed her hair for two weeks, and she was rude in her attidude to guests. In addition to her most unpleasant appearance, the hotel made an aural mess offering loud "power ballads" playing at 9 am and the staff "wasn't able to turn it down", but the woman in the reception did eventually turn the noise off so it was possible to eat breakfast.

Quite frankly, not much. My booking was a huge dissappointment. Having booked a double room, we got a tiny room with no room to turn and access to the bed on only one side. Worst of all, the staff was most unhelpful and quite rude. We were obliged initially to cancel and to have to find what was a much more expensive hotel for two nights. Three days later, we dealt with a much more customer friendly staff and stayed in the hotel for two nights, but the we still consider the whole experience to have been nothing short of awful.

The entrance is smart and efficient in decor and service. The food was plentiful, wholesome and variable. The suroundings in the dining area were satisfactory, clean and well run. The bed were comfortable, the trouser press useful and the bathroom, shower/bath good. There was no noise at night which was appreciated The card key was difficult to start with, but worked when shown exactly how to use it. The tv in the room was small, dated and the channels sometimes fuzzy. The decor in my room was in need of a repaint, there were blotches on the walls that needed repair, some skirting board in the bathroom was missing by the door. The rooms seemed a long way from the lift.

Nice staff and location Horrible restaurant - eat in town instead. There was much dust and mould at the window panels. The windows could not be closed - they were always 5 cm open, but we managed to hack it closed with some spoons. The toilet was so close to the bath that I could not avoid that my legs touched the ice cold bath - I fixed it by putting some towels on the bath as isolation.

There is no car park belonging to hotel and parking metres are a maximum stay of 2 hours. This caused inconvenience. The hotel needs a refurbishment - carpets were stained and decor was dated and in parts stained. Corridors are very narrow in parts and stairs are quite steep.

The location is great as it's right in the City centre, next to the bus and train stations. The room was poor. I knew it would be very basic as we got the room for £29, but the room was dirty. The tiles in the bathroom were covered in sprayed drink? or something, the sink was cracked badly, the mirror in the bedroom was cracked and the carpet was filthy behind the main bedroom door.
