Staff very helpful & polite. Breakfast excellent.
Obviously no parking facilities, but can't do much about that. Bit of noise from late night/early morning revellers outside, and from Railway Station tannoy.
Price & economically excellent.
ROOM IS SMALL BUT OK.
The help I had from two members of staff and the duty manager regarding my issues.
To be honest its too long to say what I didn't like. But I won't be stopping there again.
bathroom dirty and mildewy , room small , hubby had to climb over me to get out of bed, more a 2* than a 3.
The location the building the decor
That this beautiful building has been allowed to fall into such a state of neglect.
Security staff very good. They reassured me as best they could when there was a fight outside my room at 3am in the morning. The bed was comfortable.
The room was very poor. The bathroom had a lot of damp, there were little flies all over the bath, the sink was cracked, there was no soap and little toilet roll and it was very unclean. The bedroom walls were in need of re painting as there were several marks present. The hotel needs refurbishment throughout. There is a handling fee on all card transactions for the stay. The hotel is very noisy. The reception staff were not as welcoming and approachable as I'd have liked. I was very disappointed in my stay.
Not told about excessive noise outside from my room !!!!!!!
The room I was in dident look like it had been cleaned for months I was able to write in the dust on the tv and the brd headbord was also caked in dust
For those without access to a car this is the perfect base to tour, shop, visit and go to a show. The Grand theatre is next door. Everything is within minutes of the front door including buses and trains are nearby. Being clean and well lit I felt secure in this city centre.
A victim of it's location it can be a bit noisey and the sound proofing in the rooms could be better. The shower is less that ideal, temerature control poor, but managable. The Wi Fi also leaves a lot to be desired, I had to use a nearby pub to link to the net. Not good for the business traveller. I heard people complaining about the parking facilities, but having no car I cannot speak from personal experience.
Value for money and good location.
TV in room didn't work properly and no WiFi in rooms.
I needed a hotel to keep my things while i saw a gig in the civic centre, and in that respect it's fantastic. It's about a second and a half away from the trainstation too, which is very useful.
Imagine if you will; laying on a granite work surface; with a small, disposable paper tablecloth draped over you... Thus is the experience of sleeping on their beds
The room was cold & smelt very strongly of damp. so we decided we would rather wake up in our own bed & got a taxi home at 11pm
Central location, near to shops pubs/bars/clubs and train station. Firm bed. Window opened so fresh air.
Poor service from reception with regards how best to get to our room (i.e. which of the 2 lifts or via stairs); small tv with no remote so couldn't clear channel no. from tv screen; damp patch up bedroom wall and mold growing; dirty mark on bedsheet;
Location. Young man on reception very friendly.
Room dirty. Cobwebs on ceiling. Old style phone TV did not work properly. No ventilation in bathroom. Bathroom needs updating. Mould in bathroom
Near the rail station & centre Clean tea and coffee in room
No parking and cost £12 to park at rail station, not £5 as advised. My advice is book a better hotel for £12 more that has parking. Hot and noisy room at front Lazy, miserable girl on reception at first when we tried to check in before 2pm. Next person when we returned was nice, though
Location near the train station shops
Booking in paid extra to get into a room with only 20mins for a room that i already paid for. Damp in the room relocated to another room Noise from Night club went on until 3.30am
The noise couöd go sleep
The receptionist. I was waiting at the reception for almost an hour to get a specific room which I new it was empty (they told me so), and in the meantime they gave it to someone else.
It served its purpose, friendly bar staff.
Room 243 too small, single bed cracked tiles in shower, grubby shower mat
Excellent clean hotel with great facilities
My only problem was that there was a party or something that went on till about 2.30am. This was not the hotels fault.
Bed to small and room cold
It's location is very excellent! Good mix of people and classes!
No Internet facility in the rooms! A little outdated.
location staff lounge
bedroom tiles falling off
