Very comfort and clean and quiet at night good quality services such as water and shower etc.
Very old fashioned like the hotel of the shining ! I expected to see the child on his tricycle. Redrum lol
Good value for money, I would recommend a friend,
The location was fine and the staff also the hotel had parking.
The room was tired and dirty smelt of cigarette there was no heating and it was 3'c outside the carpets had stains all over. The bathroom had mould around the bath sink and floors.
Room was too small No wifi coverage in room
Easy to find, very friendly greeting, arrived late so no facilities open but that was ok as tired, room clean, warm and comfortable.
Breakfast very good but NO COFFEE! Had run out - ridiculous. Eventually made some from gravy browning or similar.
Rooms dated and in need of a lick of paint but we're clean.
When I did move rooms, it was to a better one, with a great view! The location is excellent and the christmas fair in the city centre was magical (recommended) and within easy walking distance.
Having to move rooms at 10.30 at night because the shower was broken. I asked the hotel to call a taxi on my behalf, I trusted them to phone somebody reliable or reputable. The taxi driver barely spoke English and was unable to find his way to my destination and drove around relentlessly for a ridiculous amount of time. I requested that he stopped on a number of occasions and he insisted 'must drop at destination'! When he did finally find his way he charged me £25.00, which was a considerable hike from the £7-£9 estimated fare, based on distance from the hotel. The fact that he also refused to 'let me out' of the taxi was also frustrating and humiliating.
Dirty. Had to ask for my room to be cleaned. Dated hotel in need of an urgent refurb.
The room was nice, clean and comfortable.
The room was expensive £103 for bed and breakfast plus I had to pay £15 for parking, which is expensive for one night. The breakfast was appalling they kept running out of food and it took ages to bring stuff out. The coffee was cold and there was only sausage and chopped tomatoes when we went to get ours. One customer conplained that he waited 45 minutes for bacon. The lift system was a nightmare as only one lift was working and it was hardwork finding your room as it wasn't signposted very well
Position of the hotel was fine not as noisy as the reviews I read ..... It served a purpose as a room for a night but couldn't say we was impressed one little bit
The reviews I read we're true unfortunately it is long over due a refurb only one very busy and slow lift worked the decor was from the 80's in our room the heating didn't work so we turned on towel rail in bathroom and used the trouser press to put some heat in the room ... And used our hair drier for heat ...Infact the corridor was warmer than our room the shutters were different ! But thankfully the bed was comfy
Breakfast very basic , a God job it was included
everything I had no hot water in the room and nothing was done I asked for rebate and was told I would not get one no apology . bar closed before 12. breakfast hot food was not good
Reception Was ok, staff not over friendly.
Rooms, cleanliness, smell, left
The location was good.
The room were very dirty, the room keys didn't work, no internet access to the 9th floor, carpets were very old, bathroom to dirty to use.
No bar after 11pm - no room service or ability to buy a cup of tea/coffee or a snack after 11pm Car parking is chargeable we were under the impression it was part of package not discounted we had to pay £9 for overnight parking
Too hot Looked tired
This is supposed to be three star. I would rate it one or less. Not only tired but disgusting. Everywhere threadbare and old. Needs serious remodeling. Will not stay at a Brittania again. Breakfast poor quality.
Everything they should be done for fauls advertising
Very antiquated room. Shower not very hot. Wooden board instead of curtains. TV ancient. Generally poor condition of hotel, will never use again.
Staff rude, 1 lift working (other has been out of order since at least 20/11) cannot access rooms by stairs, only fire exit stairs to get down ! No wifi, filthy dirty, no toiletries, very dated, restaurant ran out of breakfast, only half of the room had lighting, bed was like a plank, duvet as thin as a tea towel, and aircon/ heating fan when it worked sounding like a helicopter above your head!!!! Appalled at this hotel- it's like something out of the 80's - the photos on booking.com do NOT give a true reflection of this hotel
Location, Value for money
Room and bathroom looked clean.
Lobby isn't very welcoming, staff were not welcoming, poor signage around hotel, unpleasant odour in corridors, room was very small, only two electrical outlets in room, floor in room damaged, and an ash tray in window sill which suggests people smoke in there. This hotel was far too expensive at £61 a night, we checked in, looked at the room and hotel and checked out 15 minutes later. On our way downstairs we met a couple and their young child who were also struggling with the poor signage in the hotel, they didn't seem to be very happy with the service either. Avoid this hotel unless it's cheap, other hotels nearby are much more comfortable for just a few pounds more.
lads behind bar were excellent
The receptionit's manner whilst i was trying to extend my stay.
The staff were excellent the bed comfortable and it was clean
It was freezing no heaters in room and although I am not disabled I was in a disabled room which is fine if we had a shower I can stand so wanted my shower
