Clean, tidy and comfortable. The room was a good size.
It's a bit of a hike to town.
The property is easy to find and very near the bus stop which is good if that is how you travel and sightsee. The hosts were very accommodating and welcoming even though I was only staying overnight.
Peaceful - helpful and a genuinely nice atmosphere of mutual trust and respect
Friendly, helpful hosts. Lovely breakfast.
Debra & Mark the very friendly owners make you welcome from the moment you arrive. Our room was at the top of the house (room 5) so we had two flights of stairs to get to our bedroom, although no problem for us, it could cause a problem for someone less mobile, so ask for a room lower down. Very comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, and an excellent breakfast freshly cooked. All in all a good place to have a weekend break. We would be happy to return.
A little traffic noise (as we were at the front of the house) early evening which did quietened down later. We sleep with window open so probably would be OK if kept closed.
Just like home from home - perfect!!
The room was beautiful and exceptionally clean and tidy. it was thoughtfully furnished and felt like home (but tidier!). The staff were amazing - I had awful trouble getting there as I had a flat tyre on the motorway and they waited up for me (until 1.30am) and made me feel like I was part of the family. They are both utterly charming and lovely to chat to. The atmosphere was comforting and pleasant - guests chatted happily to each other at breakfast and I barely heard anyone else - I hope they didn't hear me either. Breakfast was fabulous. I wasn't sure I'd eat for the rest of the day, it was that substantial. Brixham is a sweet little town and there's plenty to see and do in the area. I'd recommend this place without hesitation.
If you have limited mobility, the room at the top of the stairs may be a stretch but I was contacted when I booked to check which room I preferred and that I would be okay with the stairs.
Very good breakfast
Charged for dog
Comfortable bed, lovely breakfast and nice hosts.
The owners were very welcoming and we felt at home. Very good breakfast. Comfortable. At this price a real bargain.
The room was at the front of the house and the road very noisy, couldn't open the window as the traffic was busy from early morning to late at night. The sink was ridiculously small.
Close to harbour,lovely breakfast
Had twin room but there was no doubles left
Owners, cleanliness,comfort and food.
The pre cooked bacon at breakfast
Friendliness of hosts Sizeable room for 1 large gent Parking space right outside entrance Comfy / large double bed Tasty Breakfast Room extras Large shower / ensuite Accommodated me even when arrived hours before official check in time window Free Wifi available through building
Location is just abit far out of the town centre and main harbour area to walk into (took 15 mins)
We were made to feel very welcome and particularly enjoyed the full breakfast.
It was slightly further from the town centre than we had expected from the description given.
The whole experience was amazing from start to finish would recommend to anyone.
There was nothing to dislike. Everything was well maintained and clean. Had a good nights sleep and a decent breakfast, perfect.
Spotlessly clean, good food, excellent value for money
On main road, so noisy if staying at the fromt
close to the harbour. Our landlady gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants.
small and basic bathroom only - OK for 1 night.
Brixham House is the perfect place to stay. !0 mins walk to the harbour, pretty rooms, lovely choice of breakfast and very welcoming hosts. Good value for money too.
The pesky, noisy seagulls waking me up at 5 a.m! Not much can be done about that though!
The hosts were very welcoming, and made all their guests think they were personal friends. They gave advice to other guests on where to go, and recommended eateries to us. (We were not on holiday). The room was bright and cheerful, clean and had all those things you expect from a hotel these days.
Not having to use car. Car parking.Friendly hosts. Not having to pay extortionate rates for a drink from the house bar
Noise from road with windows open.
Staff were very warm and friendly!
We stayed in room 5 in the attic.. very spacious and pretty room. There was a little noise as it is at the front of the house but nothing major. Check in was easy..Debbie is so friendly and easy going.. all linens were crisp white...towels white and fluffy! The breakfast choice is huge and u will not be disappointed.. ours rivalled the breakfast we had at a 5* hotel a little while ago.... overall, fab place, fab hotel and fab people!
We liked the location, nice easy walk right into town and the quay. The breakfast was really nice, all freshly cooked. The owners were really friendly. Also had its own parking which is always a plus.
We didnt like the small ensuite, but then it didnt bother us too much as it was only for 1 night.
