Beautiful location, gardens beautifully kept. Hotel had a lovely "country house" feel to it and staff were very friendly. We felt that the cost of dinner was rather expensive considering what we actually recieved (no after dinner tea/coffee and no accompanying sides to main meal, I would have expected some form of standard potato dish) although the actual food was very nice! |

location and grounds were good. Food fairly good. Staff tried hard to please and were very friendly themselves. Room nice but no where near 4 star standard. The dinner experience was very stilted and as an older couple felt some what uncomfortable |

We were made to feel totally relaxed,and staff were all happy to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible.Our choice of food was excellent both in quality and quantity,and our room was extremely comfortable and its decor was just what I would wish for. I felt that the contrast of beautiful china was marred by the use of thick white plates, although I do understandthat the presentation of food needs to be taken into consideration I felt that a more delicate white china would have been more presentable. |

Warm welcome friendly and professional staff. Room was well presented and clean, facilities were good. Food excellent and service was equally good. Shower in room would not stay warm. |

The staff were very friendly , welcoming and always ready to help. The location , set in woods and hills above Lake Windermere , is fantastic. As for the hotel , it had character and charm , with some very appealing features. The food was excellent. |

It's a very nice hotel with wonderful atmosphere small rooms, bland food, no breakfest served after 9, too many items on invoice that I had not consumed so check carefully! |

Beautiful place, very well run. Rooms are individually decorated with many tasteful touches. Area is especially gorgeous , not as commercial as other parts of the Lake District. Beds were basic doubles , also dinner was very expensive and the hotel didn't offer any room service after 2 pm |
