Friendly staff and very comfortable beds.
I emailed my booking and said I would be there about midnight. I was travelling from Manchester and having worked the day had to do some preparation for an interview. They email back and said they lock the door at 10.30 but it would be no problem and they would leave the keys under the mat. I arrive at midnight. The post code taking me to nearly half a mile away. There is no key under the mat. I ring the number that was put on the door in case of problems/emergencies. The landlady arrives 10 minutes later. Do I get an apology for her forgetting to leave the keys? NO Her: What time do you call this? Me: Well I did say in the booking and you said no problem. Her: All our other guests manage to arrive before 10.30 Me: well I could have booked another hotel if you'd said when I booked the room. etc. etc. All done in a very rude and hostile way. The room was VERY hot. The bed uncomfortable. Very dated decor. On a main road with very poor sound proofing/double glazing. Anyway, if you want a frosty and rude reception in a ridiculously hot room then this is your hotel.
Very friendly and hospitable.
nothing at all
Very nice personal, very clean, situated in nice place, romantic view on the stars, I had feeling, what I am at home. Very comfortable atmosphere. I recommend this hotel, especially, if you have a car.
The friendliness of the staff, a very relaxing environment.
Road noise noticeable but not intrusive.
The Brockenhurst is not for everyone - no elevators, bustling waiters or jazzy appearance. But if you want charm, kindness and a delightful atmosphere, this is the place to come. The bath Jacuzzi worked like a charm, the internet was speedy and the bed very comfortable. Spotlessly clean, well lit room, and when they saw I had multiple cups of tea, they replaced the small cup with a mug without asking. I couldn't believe how reasonable the rates were..
Creaky floors - everyone knows when you can't sleep!
Location, convenient to our family.once must have been abeautiful place with some lovely features.for our superior room, great size but completely shoddy.
In need of total refurb.Room dirty, cobwebs everywhere, flies in curtains, just unclean overall.Bath dirty, toilet difficult to flush
Clean, friendly, parking ,ensuite ticked all the boxes for me will use again
I liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the lady who signed us in, and I liked the character of the old building. It was clean, and the linen was changed every day.
The included breakfast was 'continental' which was not explained when booking. A normal breakfast was £9.50 extra, or there were cooked eggs, boiled or scrambled at £2.50 per egg!! We were in room 10, and the water flow for the shower was very weak. The water dribbled out, and it took about 5 minutes to get to a warm enough temperature. Due to the water flow, the toilet tank also took ages to fill. If my wife used the toilet, and I wanted to use it within the next twenty minutes I could not flush. We started filling the waste bin with water as a standby water tank.
Cosy room with a comfortable bed.
Location OK for Ascot Races, although very long walk in high heels!
Toilet not clean on arrival. Hairs found in bed. Kettle missing.
convenience to reason for visit parking facility everything in the price
smallish room and bathroom
Spacious public areas and very friendly helpful staff.
Could not control the radiator in the bedroom, the thermostat did not work and over basin light not working.
Location in relation to Ascot Race Course
Rude Owners. Out dated, dirty and untidy rooms. No facilities. Extremely over priced by at least 300 %.
Staff helpful and welcoming Location convenient Surrounded by trees Had a bar Shower very powerful, nearly blasted my eyebrows off until I turned it down.
The hotel felt a bit unloved, it could do with a lick of paint. There was spare bedding stored in my wardrobe which affected the ability to hang my clothes up. My bed had a leg missing, which was interesting when I sat on it. They offered to move rooms but I chose to stay and shove the leg back. I'm tough like that!
Venue for the racibg at Ascot within walking distance Friendly hosts snd very accommodating
Basic and hotel needs updating Full English should be offered as an option to continental free of charge
Good value for location, convenient, decent facilities
Really needs a a re-decorate and some new fittings.
Whole place needs updating.Room too small, bed too small.Shower had no pressure.Hairs in bath/wall
Very dated interior
Hotel was clean staff friendly food nice . Good range for breakfast and helpful staff. Would stay again
- busy noisy street - room not really clean
I had a lovely quiet room which had a soft comfortable bed and lovely fluffy towels (what more could a girl want) There were tea making facilities in the room Breakfast was self service with piles of freshly made toast. You could have additional items other than a continental breakfast for an additional cost
Nothing really. The hotel looked a bit old on the outside but you don't stay on the outside
beautiful building in lovely grounds, my room was huge, had an iron and an ironing board and a whirlpool bath
