Great food and quiet.
Remote location for work proposes, though for hiking this would be an ideal place to stay.
Friendly and helpful staff were always attentive. Food was home cooked and delicious. We were particularly pleased with the very good vegetarian choices too. The room was very comfortable. We look forward to coming back.
After a couple of weeks of living on a variety of Lakes pub food, Brook House was comfortably ahead of the rest. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation in a lovely location at a very reasonable price, and in a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Can't think of anything!
Idyllic quiet location, good food and a comfortable bar with real ale and a huge choice of malt whiskies. There was a drying room for wet boots and clothing, often an oversight in hotels.
Friendly staff Quiet area Good walking
Bathroom shower water pressure is low. WiFi was available, but performance was very poor.
We had a great stay, this is a well run family business. The room was clean and quiet. The bar was friendly and busy. The food was fresh cooked exceptionally good, hot on the plate and served quickly. I would recommend Brook House to walkers and local people just wanting a nice meal out.
Nothing to dislike.
Great food, staff, location, walking, the list is endless
Poor Wifi. We were there for 3 nights and waited forever for pages to load. Bedroom needs a bit of attention as damp patches round windows.
Friendly service excellent food and drink good location good parking good value
Terrible Wi-fi Breakfast slot is a bit short 8-9am Limited seating in bar area for drinkers
Location Staff Food
Smell of food in rooms No lounge to sit in No privacy for guests to sit and relax other than your room Wifi connection terrible
good location and food with attentive staff
Friendly and cosy
Good food, great beers, nice staff. Modern bathroom. Nice packed lunch.
Unlined curtains in room meant sun streaming in at 5am - annoying. WiFi weak outside immediate bar area.
Brilliant location. Cozy bar and restaurant. Welcoming staff. Good breakfast. Excellent menu choice - had one of the best meals for a long time.
Really friendly staff, useful drying room, really really good food.
Food and room was comfy. Good base to do the pike.
The drive following the satnav through the narrow winding roads. Go via Barrow.
Friendly staff and gorgeous food.
Pillows in room where like marshmallows , need updating.
The excellent staff and breakfast
We did stay last year in a twin room 2 (I think) this year we were in room 4 overlooking roof tops and the window was nearly obscured by the ensuite. We wouldn't stay again unless we were guaranteed another twin room
Amazingly friendly. Great food
Nothing. It was all great
Fantastic surroundings, friendly and helpful staff and amazing food: all in all a great place!
Ardbeg 10 on an optic and at a descent price - amazing. Food was the best of the whole six day trek, one of the best tikkas I've had!! And the shower in the room was amazing!
Good service and hearty food; late discounted deal in a quiet week, which was a bargain. Would return.
Menu and standard of evening was very good indeed. Very welcoming and helpful staff.
Beautiful location. Good atmosphere in lounge bar.
Flat pillows. Need replaced.
